"Nine pm on Saturday. Everyone including the nerds are invited, just so that I can get creative cards and or more money." Marco sighed, "not like they can do anything else."

Lee sighed. "Ma will probably say no. She doesn't let me go out after 7 p.m. Which is probably a wise thing."

"Fine come over to my house earlier, but stay until the party." Marco ducked into the car seat.

"Alrighty. Will we be alone?" She said, starting the car.

"Nah. I think my 'lil sis will be home. Unless you want to be alone."

She shrugged. "It doesn't matter to me, but it will to ma." They pulled into the school parking lot.

"You would NOT want Scruffie!" Lowe warned, "He's horrible!"

"Yeah but it's better than a rock that smells like crap." He took another swig from his water bottle. "Besides, dogs will actually acknowledge your presence."

"And tear you apart when they do," Lowe rolled up his sweatshirt sleeve to show a bite he had gotten from Scruffie.

Marco got out of the car. "Why do you care so much about what your mom wants?"
