Phoenix had gone mostly numb, worried about what the heck he had just done. His grip on the steering wheel was loosening, and he nodded just barely. "… Guess we should head inside." He whispered, shutting off the car and slowly started to get out.

@ShadeStar

"Hey, if you want to go back to the city and find something there, like McDonald's, we can do that," Cicada told him as she stayed in the car, "If you're not okay with this we don't have to do it."

"I- no I'm fine. We drove all the way out here, I'm sure you're probably starving." Phoenix insisted, coming back to himself. "Besides, it'll be like an adventure we didn't know that was coming." He smiled weakly, pocketing his phone, wallet, and keys.

@ShadeStar

Cicada have him a reassuring smile and exited the car with her phone and such as well. She left the bear in the car and closed the door smiling over at him, "Yep. Let's do this together okay?"

Phoenix nodded, pushing his door open. "Though, I'll never forgive myself if we both get murdered." He said casually, walking up to the front of the car. When there, he held a hand out to her. "I'd stay close… I don't want to lose you."

@ShadeStar

Cicada laughed just slightly as she took his hand. She understood his worry but this was just another town not another country. Her face had a soft smile on it, "I'll stay close then."

The relief he felt of just holding her hand was incredible. Nodding a bit, he let out a deep breath before making it up to the door and pulling it open. "Thanks… after you." Phoenix insisted, letting her go first through the door.

@ShadeStar

Cicada smiled as she stepped into the shop. She kept close and stayed relax, for the both of them. She looked around the shop taking it in so she could make judgments before Phoenix came in, "It's no problem."

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

The small shop was pretty empty. There were a couple people scattered around, who glanced up from their food when they heard the two come on. It was honestly a little nerve wrecking. Phoenix stepped up besides her, noting the people. No one was incredibly high on the scale, the highest only being a five. With that in mind, he let himself relax just a bit. "We should probably grab a menu."

@ShadeStar

"Yeah," Cicada nodded seeing a little stand with menus in it. It looked like you grabbed a menu took a seat by yourself and then someone took your order. Or something to that extent. She grabbed two and handed one to Phoenix, "Here, I think we sit down? Or do we order at the counter."

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

"Let's just grab a seat and decide. If no one comes in like ten minutes, we can go up and order." He told her softly, so he wouldn't get odd looks for not knowing what to do. They were already strange enough to be out here.

@ShadeStar

Cicada looked up at the front and saw a register, so she looked back at Phoenix and then to the menu, "I think we order up there first and then sit down. Like McDonald's."

@ShadeStar

"Okay," Cicada laughed a little as she walked up front. So far it seemed to be right, "Um hi. Can we get two Pad Thais?"

Following after her, Phoenix put his menu away as she ordered. The young lady at the counter nodded, and smiled. "Of course. Water to drink, then?" She hummed, typing in their orders on the screen.

@ShadeStar

"Yes please," Cicada answered for them. Water would be best for the both of them, even if she probably didn't need it. She began to pull out her wallet to pay.

@ShadeStar

"Oh right," Cicada replied letting her hand fall to her side so he could pay. She bit her lip as she tried not to blush over the sort of dumb mistake, "Go ahead, um, you can pay."

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

Handing his credit card over to the lady, he smiled down at Cicada. "Don't stress yourself, it was a simple mistake." He hummed, taking it back as soon as they had paid. "We'll bring you your food in a few minutes." The lady hummed.

@ShadeStar

"Okay," Cicada said to both Phoenix and the lady. She went and grabbed Phoenix's hand. She began leading him to an empty table for them to sit down at. She took a deep breath looking up at Phoenix.

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

"You alright?" Phoenix asked her nervously, sitting down across from her. "You seem off." Phoenix mumbled, still holding on to her hand. He didn't seem like he really wanted to let go.

@ShadeStar

"Yeah, I'm fine," Cicada brushed some hair from her face as she glanced down at the table. She messed with his fingers lacing their hands together, "Just a lot on my mind right now."

@ShadeStar

"Um," Cicada had to pause and think. He was the one person she couldn't talk to this about. Because it was about him and her stupid complex mind. About how she wanted to maybe try being in a relationship with him, but at the same time her mind screamed it was too soon. And her main worry was that if she said anything his perception of her might change. She let out a sigh and kept a careful hold on his hand, "It's nothing. Maybe on the way back, but not now."

Nodding softly, he gently ran his thumb over her hand. "If that's what you want, I'll be happy to listen. But you never have to tell me something you don't want to." Phoenix whispered, gently pulling his hand back. He was probably making her uncomfortable… yet that was his natural state. He liked to be comforting to others- but she didn't seem to fond of it most of the time.

@ShadeStar

Cicada reached to keep his hand within her own. She, she needed that at the moment, for whatever reason. Maybe because of tomorrow, or her own confusing mess of feelings. She let out a soft sigh as she smiled up at him, "Um, okay, thank you."

@ShadeStar

"Yeah, I'm positive," Cicada responded giving him a lopsided smile from her soft one. Her hand relaxed under his touch just letting herself be soothed for the moment.

As they sat there, their food was brought out and placed in front of them. The tender moment was split up real fast after that. "Hope you enjoy." The waiter said as he started off back to the kitchen.

@ShadeStar

Cicada had pulled her hand away quickly and was once again trying not to blush. She picked up her fork and pulled one dish closer to her, “This, um, looks good.”
