I don't want to do this History assignment, History after the second World War (In relation to America) Is a lot of "I kidnapped better Nazi's then you." accompanied by "America will poke it, oh look it bite finger off, I will poke again." followed up by, "Listen I know that dude was a bad dude, and so was that dude, but I'm not a bad dude… so um vote for me." and "ECONOMY SCREEEEEEE" also " I guess we can stop segregation, I mean I guess, If we have to. Do we really have to though? Ughhhhhh Fine but we're still going to be Racist"
Like we went from Global super power to Petty Bullies with trust issues really quickly.

Update: My family and I are safe. I am thankful that I still have a house that is safe and dry. Power is out until Saturday (we have a generator). Feeling devastated since my hometown was completely flooded. Tomorrow starts a long and arduous clean up and recovery for all areas affected by the flooding. Love y'all…. Please say some prayers.

Those pictures are only a small fraction of the destruction…. We've already begun cleaning, but there's a lot to do yet. So many people have been forced to relocate and have lost businesses and homes…. I wish spectators would get the hell out of the way; if you're not gonna help, LEAVE!

It is more than awful…. Unimaginable. Chaotic. Horrific. Painful.

I've spent my entire life here. We've seen floods before, but this is more than that…. A dam failure, followed by dam breaches. Water is in places it shouldn't be. Roads and bridges have washed out. The lakes are nothing more than a stream. Houses, sheds, campers, etcetera are on the exposed lake bed…. Extremely grateful that I still have a house. As a community we are cleaning, attempting to return lost and found items, doing everything and anything that we have to do to slowly, eventually, and hopefully recover from this. All we can do is "wait and hope." (Quoting the last line from The Count of Monte Cristo.)

Almost 4am here. It's been weeks since I've last fallen asleep at a reasonable hour. One might say that I'm takes off sunglasses to reveal another pair of sunglasses sleep deprived.

So I woke up at 2:35AM after falling asleep at 8:30PM, not really sure why. But I will say that I feel strangely calm, and I don’t know whether I like it…
