Gently, she reached up and started running her fingers through his hair. "Where is baseball practice? Is it on the field?"
Gently, she reached up and started running her fingers through his hair. "Where is baseball practice? Is it on the field?"
"Mhmm." Lucas smiled softly and relaxed when Melissa touched his hair, steadily heading closer to her class.
"Alright, I'll try and be there before practice then." She hummed, studying his relaxed face.
"Sounds good to me." Lucas pulled Melissa a bit closer and soon arrived at her classroom. "Here we are."
"Can I have a kiss, before you go?" Melissa asked softly, resting her hand on his shoulder.
"Sure, Mel." Lucas smiled and kissed Melissa softly, seemingly not noticing that they were in front of the window in the door. "See you later." He headed off to his own class.
Smiling as he walked off, she pushed the door open and felt a couple pairs of eyes on her. As there were only a few students and the teacher, it was quite awkward as she went and sat down. Nobody said a word- but she could tell something had happened that she had missed.
Lucas sat down in his own class and started drawing with a soft sigh. He was in art class, so he was actually allowed to draw today.
(Do we wanna skip, or keep going?)
As the rest of the class filled in, the focus on her seemed to die down and she felt more relieved. It bugged her not to know what it was about, but she wasn't going to ask. Not now anyways.
(I'll skip)
Finally, the end of the day arrived and Lucas went to go meet Melissa at her locker.
(Alrighty.)
Melissa caught sight of him, and smiled softly. "Hey," She called out after him, waving just a bit as she shut and locked her locker.
"Hey. Thought I'd come see you real quick before o change into my uniform." Lucas smiled softly.
"Well, that's nice." Melissa hummed, slinging her bag over her shoulder. "Do you need or want me to do anything for you?" She asked, taking his hand in her own.
"That's alright, Mel." Lucas laced his fingers with Melissa's and led her in the direction of the locker rooms.
"Mm, alright." She hummed softly, following him with a loving look. "Goodness… I don't quite remember what your uniform looks like… of course, it won't matter if you got new ones."
"Yeah. They're not too exciting, honestly. Pretty generic baseball uniforms." Lucas hummed softly to himself while he walked.
"It is only a high-school league. I'm not saying you're not good, only that this isn't major league." Melissa mumbled her thoughts, studying his face as she fell quiet for a minute.
"Yeah." Lucas let go of Melissa when he reached the locker rooms. "I'll be right back." He adjusted his grip on his bag and headed in.
"Alright, don't rush yourself." She hummed, smiling softly. When he left, she sat herself down on the floor, leaning up against the wall.
Despite Melissa's assurances, Lucas still tried to be quick so he wouldn't keep her waiting. He soon returned in almost form fitting white pants and a navy shirt with their school's logo embroidered on.
Glancing up at him when she heard his reappearance, she smiled softly. "Ready to go, hot stuff?" Melissa hummed, stuffing the notebook she had pulled out, back in her bag.
Lucas flushed red and tipped the brim of his hat down to try and hide it. "I-I… um… yeah…" He stammered in reply.
Pushing up off the ground, she brought her backpack up too. "Mm, that's the only compliment I'll give you before or during practice." She hummed softly.
Lucas nodded a bit and took Melissa's hand, still quite red. "Alright, let's… let's head out, Mel."
Nodding just a bit, she tipped his chin up so he was looking at her. "Love you,"
Lucas flushed a bit more and looked away again. "L-Love you too, Mel…" He led her outside with a soft sigh.
Holding on to his hand tightly, she glanced up at him periodically. "Did that bug you? I feel like I pushed it…"
"I'm okay… I'm just… kinda flustered…" Lucas stammered quietly. "I wasn't exactly expecting that…"
"In all honesty, nor was I. It just kinda… came out." Melissa mumbled, smiling softly as she looked up at him. "I didn't really mean to say it out loud."
Lucas nodded. "Y-Yeah… I mean… it's kinda weird to think about people legitimately thinking I'm attractive…"
