Melissa smiled, holding on to his hand tightly. "I swear, just scold me the next time I make you flush. I really have given up trying to stop myself." Melissa hummed softly.
Melissa smiled, holding on to his hand tightly. "I swear, just scold me the next time I make you flush. I really have given up trying to stop myself." Melissa hummed softly.
"But I don't wanna scold you… and I'd be doing a lot. Almost everything makes me blush."
"But if I don't stop, you're going to melt." Melissa hummed, turning and pulling him closer to herself. "I don't want to have to try and fix that."
"Yeah, I… uh… don't know how to fix that." Lucas laughed weakly and tightened his grip on Melissa a bit.
“Mhmm. That’s why I need you to tell me when I do it.” Melissa insisted, kissing his cheek. “Otherwise I’ve got a puddle of you I need to clean up.”
Lucas sighed softly. "…But I kinda like it…" He murmured. "It… it's nice…"
Taken by a little bit of surprise, Melissa let her face relax in to a smile. “Well. I guess I’ll keep doing it. But to no extreme.”
Lucas nodded. "Like… I-I dunno, I just… I know you're doing it because you love me, and… I like feeling loved…" He said quietly.
“You’ve got that exactly right. Though I’m sure I can find other ways to show you, if you don’t like feeling flustered.” Melissa hummed, falling in step with him.
Lucas shrugged a bit, considering. "I can live with it… I'm just worried that we'll slip up around your parents or something since I can't exactly control it."
“Lu, you said it twenty seconds before. Everything makes you blush. There’s literally nothing strange about that, if someone knew you.” Melissa pointed out, humming just a bit.
"Yeah, I guess so… do you think your parents know me well enough to have noticed, though?"
Melissa shrugged, not really knowing. “I’m not sure. But, I think my dad notices how nervous you seem around him. I don’t know if that helps at all though.”
"Right… he knows about my dad, though. I hope I'm not offending him or anything… I know he's very nice."
"I seriously doubt he would be offended. He probably much prefers that, to you being outrageously comfortable around him." Melissa hummed, kissing his cheek. "It makes it more reassuring you respect him."
"True… knowing him, he probably doesn't want me to be afraid of him, though." Lucas sighed softly.
"That's probably also true. But my mother on the other hand." Melissa hummed, kissing his cheek gently.
Lucas nodded and returned the kiss. "Yeah… definitely scared of her." He laughed weakly.
"I'm scared of her most of the time. I think a lot of people are." Melissa hummed, sighing just a bit. "She's super strict, and not very friendly. I don't really know how she was married to my father."
"Mhmm… I feel the same way with my parents, but vice versa. How the hell my mother ended up with him… I'll never know."
"Clearly, there is something we don't know about. Something before we were born." Melissa nodded, trying to think of a time when her mother could have been gentle and caring.
Lucas nodded. "I mean, I remember when my father would go out of his way to make my mother happy… things went downhill after she died."
"That's nice… despite the after effects." Melissa mumbled, looking at him with a light smile. "But, I think I remember that. When your dad came home while I was over, with a bouquet of flowers."
He nodded again. "Yeah… we almost always had flowers in our house. My mother loved them."
"I quite enjoy flowers as well… they're just so inviting." Melissa smiled, pulling her hand from his grip so she could hug him from the side.
Lucas smiled softly and returned the hug. "Yeah. I'm quite fond of them. I gotta bring you to the sunflower field soon."
Melissa looked up at him, starting to relax into his gentle hug. "I'd quite enjoy that… though you don't have to."
"It's alright. I like it there a lot. You can just sit down and disappear for a few hours… forget about your worries… it's wonderful."
"It sounds like when I'm with you in the clearing…" Melissa whispered, sighing as she sunk into her thoughts.
"Yeah, it's kinda like that. Hope you're not allergic to pollen." Lucas laughed softly, holding Melissa a bit tighter.
