Evan walked into the living room and sat down nearby, still holding Adrian.

"Hi…" She said

”Hi…” Evan answered with a small smile.

She sat up patting the spot next to her

He smiled a little more and moved to sit next to her.

Adrian pushed free of Evan’s hands and crawled over to his mother.

She smiled "Sorry some kids prefer thier mother's sometimes " she said bouncing Adrian on her knee

”It’s alright.” Evan chuckled a little. ”Honestly, Ly was like that too.” he said, watching the little boy smiling at Betty.

She smiled looking at Adrian as she bounced him

Adrian smiled back at her, enjoying the game.

" you look just like your father" she said

Adrian just smiled, not quite understanding the… unique situation, while Evan blushed faintly; taking her words as a bit of a compliment and confirmation that he would be able to stay a part of the twin's lives.

"Evan I want you to be part of the kids lives I don't want them to grow up and not knowing who the real father is like I had to I wouldn't wish that on anyone so I think you should stay here move in and I know your king and everything you have responsibilities and I understand that and I'll do anything you need me to do or what if you can't move in just stay here a couple days a week will you can stay in the guest bedroom or I can set something up in the basement" she said

Evan smiled, touched by her offer. ”Thank you, Betty. I… I’d like that. I’m fine with using the guest room. You’re right; I still have responsibilities, so I can't really move in, as much as I would like to.” he told her. ”But I’ll still be here as much as possible for them. All of them if you want me to. I'll be here for every birthday and holiday and… any other reason you want me to be here.” he promised.

She smiled."I do love you Evan very much but until you can learn that you have other responsibilities and so you can learn to put people before you sing them put me before your king to put the kids before the kingdom I can't be with you the way you want it to" she said

He nodded a little. ”I can understand that and I'm sorry about that. I love you too.” he smiled softly back. ”Very much.”

She nodded with a smile

He hesitantly leaned forward, wanting to kiss her.

Evan let out a soft sigh of contentment as his eyes slowly closed. He wasn't tired, just… happy.

She placed a kiss on his forehead before pulling away and getting up placing Adrian on the couch she went to walk into the kitchen but lost her balance and fell

Evan felt his face heat up to an almost normal blush as she stood up. He hadn't quite been expecting that. He smiled briefly before she fell. "Betty, are you alright?" he asked urgently as he quickly moved to her side.

She moved her hand to her head where she felt blood

Evan bit his lip to keep from swearing.

Lysander quickly ran into the room and dropped beside his wife. ”What happened?” he asked, seeing the blood.

"I fell I'm fine" she said

Lysander looked at her, wanting to believe her but seeing the blood made him worry.

”I’ll get the first aid kit.” Evan said, slowly getting up.

"I'm.fine…ow"

Evan paused to raise a skeptical brow with a knowing smirk before continuing to get the kit.
