Same as Lucas, Melissa was starting to nod off leaning in to his arms. "Mmm… I like this." She whispered, curling up next to him.
Same as Lucas, Melissa was starting to nod off leaning in to his arms. "Mmm… I like this." She whispered, curling up next to him.
"Me too…" Lucas yawned a bit and held Melissa close. "Looks like we won't be heading back home too soon, hmm…?"
"Mmmm… doesn't look like it." Melissa hummed, glancing up at him. "I'm plenty happy to stay."
Lucas smiled softly and laced his fingers with Melissa's. "Let me know if they text or call you, okay?"
"I might… might fall asleep before they do." Melissa mumbled a bit, her smile being replaced by a yawn. "But sure thing."
"Me too, too be honest… I'm still pretty tired…" Lucas matched her yawn and sighed happily. "I'm sure we'll hear the phone…"
"Alright… if you're sure." Melissa hummed, giving up trying to stay awake. "I really like this… wish we could do it more often."
"Mmmm… same, Mel." Lucas was steadily relaxing more and heading ever closer to falling asleep.
"Well… maybe if we figure this all out… my parents would be okay with this." Melissa whispered, speaking without thinking at this point.
Lucas flushed again. "Y-Yeah, um… we'll probably want to be quiet for now, though. Wouldn't want them to get mad."
"Yeah… that wouldn't be good." With a light sigh, Melissa fell quiet. If the two fell asleep now, she wasn't sure when they'd get up. But she wasn't worried about it.
Lucas soon drifted off into a light sleep, his breathing growing soft and relaxed as he did so. He seemed comfortable and content for now.
Looking up to his sleeping figure, a warm smile spread across her lips. Leaning in to him, she dozed off herself.
(Skip like an hour?)
(Works for me!)
(Alrighty!)
Lucas was still between phases of sleep when Melissa awoke again. He was stirring like before, but not quite awake.
With the sun in her eyes, she blinked a few times in the fogginess of sleep. It took her a moment to remember where she was, and sat up slowly with a yawn. "Lu?" Melissa called softly, stretching out from her spot.
"Mmmmm…" Lucas yawned and opened his eyes a bit to look up at Melissa. "Melissa…? What…? What time is it?" He asked sleepily.
Rubbing her face a bit, she turned back to face him. "I dunno… just woke up." Melissa mumbled, pulling her phone out to check the time.
"Mmm…" Lucas closed his eyes again and huddled closer to Melissa, too out of it to much care what was going on around him.
"Come on sleepy head, we've been here for over an hour. My dad texted me fifteen minutes ago." Melissa told him, wanting so badly to stay here. "He was just checking in on us, but I have a feeling he wants us to come back."
Lucas sighed and reluctantly opened his eyes again. "But it's so nice here, Mel…" He whined softly.
"Come on~" Melissa groaned, running her fingers through his hair. "You can't make me eat if you're here. And you know I'd skip it if you weren't around." She pointed out, getting up off the ground.
Lucas kissed Melissa softly and managed to drag himself to his feet. "Alright, alright… I'm coming, Mel."
Smiling just a bit, she slid her arm around his waist. “I won’t drag you along this time, how bout that?” She offered, pulling his arm over her shoulders.
"Sounds good to me." Lucas laced his fingers with Melissa's and started walking along with her. "We'll be back in no time."
“Yup…” Melissa hummed, trying to keep the same pace as Lucas. She was always fast paced, so trying to slow it down a bit was difficult. “How were your naps?”
"Pretty good… I guess I'll just have to sleep here from now on, hmm?" He laughed weakly. "Seems I can't sleep anywhere else."
"I'd still try to sleep other places, otherwise this could turn in to the same thing." Melissa pointed out, glancing over at him. "We don't want that."
"True, true…" Lucas sighed. "I suppose we'll just have to camp out sometimes so I can actually get some rest, hmm?"
