"I tried to convince you not even two minutes ago." Melissa teased, kissing the top of his head. "But you said we had to go eat… if you really want to stay though…"
"I tried to convince you not even two minutes ago." Melissa teased, kissing the top of his head. "But you said we had to go eat… if you really want to stay though…"
"I know, I know… we really do need to go. If not now, then soon at least. I just love being here with you…"
"And I love you." Melissa whispered, still holding him close. "But you're right. I'd be happy to wait a few minutes though."
Lucas nodded. "Five more minutes couldn't hurt, right? I'm sure they won't even notice we're gone…" He said softly.
"If they were worried, or bothered, they'd call. I'm sure of it." Melissa hummed, leaning in to him. "But since they haven't, we should be alright."
He nodded again and smiled softly. "Wanna sit by the pond in the clearing?" He asked. "It's really nice."
Her smile grew, and she nodded gleefully. "Of course, lead the way my good sir." Melissa hummed, pulling back so he could walk without having to scoop her up.
Lucas flushed red and nodded, leading Melissa along to the clearing and then to the shore of the pond. "Here we are, Mel."
"Can I just say… you're really, really attractive right now." Melissa said softly, looking at him with a fond sigh.
Lucas blushed harder, his heart pounding. "I-I… uh… I'm… th-thank you?" He stammered nervously.
"You don't have to say anything… and I'm sorry for making you flustered… again." Melissa sighed weakly, coming up and wrapping her arms around his waist. "I just really mean it."
"It's not your fault that everything flusters me, Mel… although that was sort of out of nowhere." He returned the hug and sighed softly as well.
"Well it's true. I was just wondering how I got so lucky." Melissa hummed, standing on her toes so she could peck his lips.
Lucas blushed even harder and buried his red face in Melissa's shoulder, whining softly. "N-No… I'm the lucky one, Mel."
"Hush up, you're an excellent guy." Melissa told him, running her fingers through his hair. "Trust me, you were the one who said I was always right."
Lucas huffed indignantly and melted into Melissa's touch. "There's no way I'm all that great… I can't even take a compliment without becoming a tomato."
"Which makes you all the more cute." Melissa insisted, nosing his cheek with her bright smile. "Trust me, you're spectacular Lu."
"Nooooo…" He whined, burying his face further into Melissa's shoulder. "M'not cute…" He mumbled, his voice muffled by the fabric.
"Then maybe you should stop whining." She insisted pulling back a bit so she could tilt his chin up. "I think it's cute when you whine."
Lucas looked up at Melissa meekly, clearly pouting. "But I caaaan't…" He whined. "I'm malfunctioning again…"
Trying not to laugh, she tilted her chin up just a bit. "Would a kiss make it better?" Asking in a purr, she ran her fingers up his arm teasingly.
Lucas shivered, goosebumps erupting on his skin. "I-I… um… I dunno if it would help, but… I don't think it'd hurt…" He replied weakly.
"Well, if you think so." Melissa hummed, leaning in and placing a soft kiss on his lips. The suddenness of her change in attitude was quite surprising to say the least.
Lucas returned the kiss and sighed, hesitating before pulling Melissa down to sit by the pond. His face was still quite red, and he was still pretty flustered.
Her smile stayed on her lips as she sat down besides him. “Any better?” Melissa asked softly, pecking the tip of his nose.
"A little, yeah…" Lucas stared down at his red reflection in the water and sighed. "I love you."
Leaning over to rest her head on his shoulder, her smile stayed on her lips. "I love you, and quite a lot at that."
Lucas flushed a little more and closed his eyes, relaxing with Melissa. "I really hate to leave…" He murmured.
A slight smirk rested on her lips, instead of replying to his comment. He would decide on his own, whether she tried to help out or not.
Lucas fell quiet for a while as well, trying his best to stay awake. He seemed content and managed to relax after a few minutes.
