"Oh hush up. It's not that big of a deal." Melissa hummed, resting her chin on her palm. "We'll work on it."
"Oh hush up. It's not that big of a deal." Melissa hummed, resting her chin on her palm. "We'll work on it."
Lucas nodded again and fidgeted with his hands. "I'll try to get better, Mel, I just… don't know how."
"I know hon, that's why I'm going to help you. Or try to anyways. There's no guarantee I'll be successful." Melissa mumbled, scooting forward a little bit.
"Mhmm… I'm still sorry, though. For making it harder for you." Lucas sighed softly.
"As long as I get to kiss you, I don't really care. I much enjoy getting to be around you, so putting in a little bit of work is nothing." Melissa informed him reaching out to gently pet his cheek.
Lucas closed his eyes and leaned his head into Melissa's hand, allowing her to support its weight. "I love you so much…"
"And I, my rosy cheeked companion, love you." Melissa hummed, running her thumb across his cheek.
Lucas flushed harder and started fidgeting a bit again. He kept quiet, though, just enjoying the petting.
"I promise, this is my last compliment. But when you blush, it's really cute." Melissa whispered, still running her thumb over his warm cheek. "It just sets off your face, perfectly."
Lucas whined quietly, keeping his eyes closed. "Nooooo… m'not cute, remember?" He asked softly.
“Mmm, I changed my mind. You’re only cute for me. I’m not going to call you cute around your friends.” Melissa hummed, pecking the tip of his nose.
Lucas stuck his tongue out playfully, pouting. "Mmmmmmm… but I'm noooot…." He whined.
"But you areeee." Melissa whined back, giving him a light smirk. "I think you're cute. Can't I just think that?"
Lucas huffed indignantly and crossed his arms, looking away. "I suppose I can't exactly stop you."
"Mmm, that's right." Melissa chirped, looking at him with a soft smile. "Come on, you're not mad are you?"
Lucas sighed softly. "…No…" He looked back over at Melissa, his cheeks still red.
"You're sure?" Melissa asked softly, tipping his chin up. Very gently, she ran her thumb across his lower lip with a smile.
Lucas nodded, smiling softly when Melissa touched his lip. "Yeah… m'alright, Mel."
Her smile grew, and she leaned in to kiss him. “Well, that’s good. Love you, Lu.” Melissa whispered, before kissing him.
"Love you too, darling." Lucas returned the kiss and huddled close to Melissa. "We gotta go soon."
"Mmm… I don't want to though. It's much better here." Melissa mumbled, burying her face in to his shoulder. "You like it here too."
"I love it here, but we really do need to get going soon." Lucas smiled gently.
“Noooo…. please don’t make us go home.” Melissa begged, holding on to his hand tightly. “I don’t wanna gooo.”
"Mel… we wouldn't want to make your parents mad by being late. It's already starting to get dark."
Pouting softly she pulled back. “You’re right… I guess we should start heading out now.” Melissa mumbled, barely smiling.
"Mhmm." Lucas dragged himself to his feet and held out his hand to help Melissa up.
Taking his hand, she pulled herself up close to him. “Who’s leading?” She asked softly, lacing their fingers.
"Doesn't matter to me. If you want me to lead, I can." Lucas smiled softly and gently kissed Melissa's cheek.
Melissa let a smile pull up on her lips, starting to walk on. "I'll start, but there's a chance I might get lost in your eyes." She joked, pecking his cheek.
Lucas flushed and rolled his eyes. "Y-Yeah, right…" He let Melissa pull him along, but he was never too far behind her.
