Cas eventually managed to find his locker, which was thankfully not locked. There wasn't anything in there at the moment anyways. He sighed and put down the books he wasn't going to need at home.

Nick's friend Ian noticed Cas and gave him a condescending look as he passed, then went to go talk to Nick, who was caught up in conversation. He didn't seem to notice his friends' behavior towards Cas, not being a very observant person.
Cas sighed and closed his locker, leaving it unlocked since he knew he was not going to be able to unlock it tomorrow. He gathered the things he needed and started walking towards the exit.
Nick and his group of friends walked towards the exit as well, and Nick waved at Cas with a smile while one of his friends glared at Cas. Two others laughed quietly, behind Nick's back.
Cas waved to Nick and glared right back at Nick's friend as he walked out. His foster parents were too busy with work to pick him up, so he was walking home.
Nick said goodbye to most of his friends outside of the school, and he rode the bus home. Once he got there, he played video games as usual.
Cas felt eyes on his back and heard faint footsteps. He was being followed. His heart sped up a bit and he picked up the pace, hoping the boys would just leave him alone eventually.
Brandon walked faster, trying to keep up with Cas. "Why are you running away?" he asked loudly, turning to Ian. "What a loser," he added more quietly.
Cas moved a bit more quickly, his heart racing now. He didn't know what the boys planned to do to him, but he didn't want to stick around and find out.
"What's your problem?" Ian asked, both of them walking faster to catch up. "Don't you wanna be friends?" He laughed mockingly.
Cas stayed silent, his pace now at a jog. He gripped his books tighter and kept his eyes firmly on the stretch of sidewalk in front of him.
"Slow down!" Ian called, still laughing. "Can't you take a joke?" He fished around in his lunchbox for something to throw.
"Leave me alone!" He broke into a run, panting a bit now. He was starting to feel a bit lightheaded from the exertion, but he really didn't want them to catch him. He could pass out at home if need be.
Ian managed to find half of an uneaten sandwich and threw it at Cas, though he wasn’t exactly the most athletic. Both Ian and Brandon laughing anyway before turning around and walking away. Neither of them cared enough to chase him.
Cas stumbled a bit when something hit him, but managed to stay up. He sighed softly and stopped in the middle of the sidewalk when the boys left him alone.
Brandon and Ian kept walking, off to go get slushees. They were only mean when Nick wasn’t around or wasn’t paying attention, which admittedly was kind of a lot.
Cas headed home and locked himself in his room. He hadn't quite opened up to his foster parents, so this wasn't really suspicious. He curled up in a tight ball on his bed and stared blankly at the wall. Not knowing how to read or write made it significantly harder to do homework.
Nick was still obliviously playing video games, not realizing what had just happened. Not everyone in his friend group were jerks, but Brandon and Ian’s awfulness had somehow escaped Nick.
(Time skip to the next day?)
(sure hahah)
Cas awoke the next morning and got ready for school. Once he gathered his things, he headed out and eventually reached the school.
Nick got off of the bus, eagerly searching for his friends. He spotted Jemma and Leo first thing and hurried over to them. “Where’s Brandon and Ian?” he asked.
Jemma shrugged. “Dunno,” she responded.
They were in the hallway, looking for Cas.
Cas pushed open the door and walked in, too focused on trying to read his schedule to notice Ian and Brandon waiting for him.
“Hey dimwit,” Brandon said, snatching the schedule out of his hands. “What a nice schedule. Were you trying to read it?”
“No, I think he was trying to think of ways to get out of it because he’s a dirty little sewer rat,” Ian added, laughing. Neither of them seemed to realize how dumb their banter sounded.
"Hey! Give that back!" Cas tried to grab his schedule back, but Brandon was holding it above his head, so it was far out of his reach. "I need it! And I'm not a sewer rat! Fuck off!"
“Looks like you’re too short to reach it, sewer rat,” Brandon taunted, grinning idiotically. Ian laughed at that, smirking at Cas.
Cas glared at him and kneed him hard in the balls. "Say that again, bitch!" He growled. "And get another dose of that!"
Brandon dropped the schedule, face contorted in pain. “You little shit,” he muttered, while Ian just laughed at his friend. Their eyes darted over to the middle of the hall, where Nick, Jemma, and Leo were coming towards them. The only one who had seen them yet was Leo, and he looked a bit annoyed with them.
Cas grabbed his schedule and bolted, his heart pounding. He thankfully remembered where his first class was and sat down in there, putting on an innocent expression.
Unfortunately for Cas, all of Nick’s friends had the same first period, including Brandon and Ian. Leo got on their case about messing with the new kid while Jemma and Nick talked about a book excitedly, not even hearing. Leo always gave Brandon and Ian crap for being mean, but not as much as he should to get them to actually stop. They all took their seats in first period.
