"Especially," She paused to tilt his chin back to face her. "If you blush like that when asked about it." Melissa hummed before letting go of the tip of his chin.

Lucas was very red by now and he looked away again. "Y-Yeah… I'm in trouble, aren't I?" He asked with a soft sigh.
"In trouble for what? Blushing?" Melissa asked, trying to hold back a light laugh through her smile. "Not with me, no."
"No, not with you… I mean if we're trying to keep this a secret and I'm gonna be a tomato half the time." Lucas sighed.
"Mmm, you'll be fine. Blushing is pretty normal for you." Melissa hummed, pecking his cheek. "Just try not to act suspicious."
Lucas rubbed the back of his neck nervously, keeping his eyes on the ground. "Alright, I… I'll try my best…"
"Just don't think about it, just act like you're keeping the secret from before. You did well, until last night. And that was mostly my fault." Melissa hummed, running her fingers through his hair.
"Mm… I guess so…" Lucas relaxed again when Melissa touched his hair, struggling to continue walking when his mind was telling him to just stop and enjoy the petting.
Melissa let her smile relax, noting his slower pace. "Do you wanna sit down at the tree for a few minutes, first?" She asked him softly, as they ducked into their clearing.
Lucas nodded. "Yeah, that'd be nice…" When they reached the tree, he reluctantly pulled away from Melissa so he could climb up, holding out his hand to help her up as usual.
Melissa looked up to him, sighing softly. "You just fell off a cliff, and you're already climbing back up again." She sighed, shaking her head. Taking his hand, she pulled herself up next to him.
"You know me." Lucas grinned cheekily and led Melissa out onto their branch so they could sit down. "How much time do we have?"
"It's four-thirty… so about forty-five minutes." Melissa hummed, sitting down carefully so she wouldn't fall.
"Alright." Lucas wrapped one arm around Melissa's shoulders to keep her upright. "I know I say it way too much, but I love it here…"
"I don't get tired of hearing it." She whispered to him, leaning back into his arms. "It's nice to hear that you're happy."
Lucas smiled and rested his head against Melissa's. "Guess I'll have to keep on rambling every time we come here, then."
"I'd like that, it gives me an excuse just to listen to you." Melissa nodded, taking in a deep breath of admiration.
Lucas blushed a bit. "Do you really like my voice that much?" He asked softly.
“Yup. It’s one of my favorite things.” Melissa hummed with a soft smile.
Lucas whined softly and hid his red face in Melissa's shoulder. "I think I'm just destined to be a tomato today, aren't I…?"
“I guess so. I’m sorry, I’m telling the truth.” Melissa hummed, resting her head on his. “I love spending time with you.”
"I-I'm glad… I love spending time with you as well, though I seem to always end up flustered…" He sighed.
“Mmm, you don’t have to feel flustered around me.” Melissa hummed with a soft smile.
"I know, but I can't exactly help it, Mel." Lucas laughed a bit and moved closer to her. "I fluster easy and you're over here, just existing. How dare you."
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to exist.” Melissa sighed dramatically, throwing a hand over her forehead. “But if I hadn’t, I wouldn’t have met you.”
"True, true." He laughed again. "And that would be quite a shame, wouldn't it? I'd have nobody at all. You were the only one who bothered to say hi."
“Yup, and I’m so glad I did.” Melissa hummed softly looking up to study his face.
"I'm glad you did too." Lucas kissed Melissa softly and rested his head on her shoulder.

She smiled softly, leaning her head against his with a sigh. “I love you, a lot.” Melissa whispered.
