"Perfect." Mycah nodded, rolling up the window and brushing their hair back into their eyes. Even though they were far from the capital, Mycah still wasn't going to let their guard down just yet.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Although, do we have any money for it, or will we need to steal one?" Winter asked, looking over at Mycah for a moment, then at the town again.

"We'll need to steal one. I don't have enough money to buy a car. Food and lodging, maybe, but not a car." Mycah said, passing the first buildings of the town. This was why they decided to pass through a town before stopping in one.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Alright." Winter replied with a nod. "I'd say we should steal a newer one. Less chance of it breaking down on the road, unless it's a faulty model."

"Good idea." Mycah looked out the window for a second. "Have you seen any that might work?" They glanced over at Winter before focusing on the road once more. They were getting closer to the middle of the town, and more people were looking at them. "We should probably ditch this thing before people start getting too suspicious."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter shook his head slightly. "I have not. But if we walk around, we should eventually find one." he reasoned, sitting up straighter. His eyes watched the people they passed carefully.

"Well, we're nearly in the heart of the town. It should be a good place to find a good one." Mycah looked around for a good place to stop before pulling into an out-of-the-way parking lot and parking. They turned off the car and opened the door.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter nodded a little bit, getting out of the car with a soft sigh. "So. Let's find a car, then." He said quietly, looking around the town.

"Indeed." Mycah got out and pocketed the keys– no reason to let people steal it easily– then slammed the door shut. After a few seconds of thinking, they walked around to the trunk and opened it. "Help me find the useful stuff first, though?" They asked, peering around the car at Winter.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter nodded, and came around to the trunk to help Mycah out. He let out a quick breath, feeling the eyes of the locals prickling along his spine.

Mycah rummaged through the supplies, finally finding where the rest of the money was kept. They put it into a backpack, along with some other supplies. "Grab anything you might need." Mycah jumped out of the trunk to let Winter get whatever he wanted.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter nodded, and grabbed some stuff, putting it in a different backpack and shouldering it. "Let's go." he said, eyes flickering around again. "We're catching a lot of attention."

@MarDeColores this is not it kids

"I wonder why." Mycah gave Winter a small, teasing smile and started away from the car. They stared at the ground, keeping their hair in front of their face. Mycah missed being able to tie their hair back. The constant hair in the face was getting really annoying.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter snorted softly. "What? The blood is dry!" he replied, tugging at the sleeves of his shirt and wondering if he should have cut them off earlier, before people saw them.

@MarDeColores this is not it kids

"It's still suspicious." Mycah looked up at Winter, their face uncharacteristically open. Even though they shouldn't have felt happy at all, the knowledge that Crin was dead put a small gleam of happiness in their heart. It helped that they were far away from the place where it all happened.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter sighed loudly. "Ugh. I should have cut the sleeves off or something." he said, looking down at the bloodstained cuffs. "This sucks ass."

@MarDeColores this is not it kids

"Heh! Our whole situation sucks ass. Personally, I prefer the dried blood to raggedy hems. You could just say you're an enthusiastic painter if anyone asks," Mycah sighed, almost happily, and glanced at the cars on the side of the road. "Have you seen any good ones?"

@MarDeColores this is not it kids

"They don't have to know that." Mycah glanced at Winter with a small smirk. "Hmm, shame. However much I like this place, the people here don't like us." They turned back to the road, inspecting all the cars as casually as they could. "What about that one?" Mycah nodded towards a car a little ways ahead of them.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter nodded slightly, letting out a faint laugh. He looked at the car Mycah was gesturing at, and nodded. "Yeah, that could work." he replied.

(gtg soon sorry)

@MarDeColores this is not it kids

"Good. Do you have any experience stealing cars?" Mycah asked, slowing their pace slightly. "I'm sad to say that I don't." They glanced all around the car. There wasn't anyone near it right then, though some people were walking towards it.
(You're good! G'night!)

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter laughed quietly, shaking his head. "I don't…no. I don't. I'm sorry." he replied, looking at Mycah. "I can't do everything, y'know."

@MarDeColores this is not it kids

"Hmm. I guess we're improvising." Mycah frowned, trying to figure out what they were going to do. First, they had to get that car open if it wasn't already. Then they had to start the car… Unless they got lucky enough that the keys were already there. Though, that was very unlikely.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"I might be able to hotwire it, but that's the extent of my criminal abilities." Winter said with a shrug. "I can also serve as lookout, if you'd prefer that."

@MarDeColores this is not it kids

"Well, you can hotwire it," Mycah decided. "I'll get it open. You can be the lookout for that bit, but there's no way I'm learning how to hotwire a car right now." They glanced down the sidewalk– still no people near them. A few quick steps and they were right next to the car.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Alright." he replied. He waited as he was the lookout while Mycah got the car opened. He let out a quiet breath, putting his hands on his hips.

@MarDeColores this is not it kids

Mycah didn't really know what they were going to get the car open, but they had a sort of plan. They knelt down next to the car and put a hand over the lock, sending a bit of their magical ink into the lock. Closing their eyes, Mycah carefully formed the magic into the shape of the key. A twist of their hand and the door clicked open. It had only taken about three minutes– not bad, in Mycah's opinion.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter looked over when the door clicked open. "Want me to attempt to hotwire it now?" he asked, raising his eyebrows at Mycah. He drew out a dagger to be able to access the wires.

@MarDeColores this is not it kids

"Yeah," Mycah called back all of their magic, then dropped their hand away from the car door. After a few seconds, they stood up and stepped away from the car. "Will you drive, or just start the car?" They asked.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Winter nodded. "I can…try to drive, I suppose." he opened the door, and squatted down. He jabbed the dagger into the area below the steering wheel, carving it open and severing wires, then started to work on finding the correct wiring.
