Rowan smiled at him as she stepped outside the door and waited for Soren. She was bouncing on her feet looking forward to the walk. It was just a walk, wasn't she getting a bit overzealous about it? Oh, she didn't care. She was ready to see the snow.
Quickly, he closed the door behind him and his smile grew at how excited she was. He held out a hand if she wanted to take it as he started down the hallway, humming gently and trying to guess how much snow was going to be on the ground in the park.
Rowan bit her lip in thought before taking his hand with a smile. If she needed to sign to him she would let go of his hand at that point. She stopped herself from bouncing so Soren didn't bounce with her.
"Welcome to the winter wonderland," Soren said with a small laugh as they reached the front doors and got outside. There was a layer of snow covering most things, even the parking lot they were in even having been shoveled out already. If a thin layer was still on the ground here, he guessed there would be lots on the ground in the park.
Rowan’s eyes lit up as they saw just that thin layer of snow. She smiled at Soren and then back to the snow before walking to where she thought the park was. She wanted to get there as soon as possible!
He led her to the park quickly once they got outside, realizing how excited she was to actually get there. It wasn't a huge park, but it had a thick layer of snow covering everything, even the small playground equipment in the center. Soren didn't say anything, just smiled at her and let go of her hand. He scooped up a small handful of snow and within moments it was clear he was making a snowball.
Rowan was too busy taking in the amount of snow around. She was breathless for a few moments just taking the sight in. It had felt like forever since she had seen snow, even though it had only been a year. She wanted to just lay in it and make a snow angel but figured that would be rude to do since these weren't her clothes. She finally stopped and turned back towards Soren beaming.
He had a playful grin on his face as he tossed the snowball at her lightly, watching it hit her chest and laughing as he scooped up another handful of snow to make another one. The one he had just thrown was a warning one, giving her silent permission to get as snow-covered as possible as long as she was having fun.
Rowan mocked offense when she was hit with the snowball. She bent down and started to make her own snowball to throw back at him. She had wanted to make a snow angel. Had wanted to. Now she wanted to win a snowball fight.
Soren's grin grew, knowing the game was now on. He tromped through the deep snow just enough to get out of what he guessed her throwing range was, frantically trying to make as many snowballs as he could for ammo. It was a tradition to have a snowball fight every winter. A tradition he loved.
Rowan spotted him retreating, and threw her snowball preemptively hitting his back. She quickly moved into deeper snow to make an army of snowballs. Her aim and range weren't the best, she wouldn't deny that, but it had been so long since she had had a snowball fight. She was looking forward to it.
He scooped up his small armada of snowballs when he finished making them, running towards her and throwing one at her shoulder. Soren's aim wasn't good in the least, but he did have a strong throwing arm. It made for a combination of having to jump out of the way of aimless but fast-flying snowballs.
Rowan spotted Soren and ducked away. She started throwing back snowballs even throw she wasn't really looking at where she was throwing. The snowball hit the edge of her shoulder and if she could squeal, she probably would have.
She may have not been looking where she was throwing, but some of her snowballs hit him. They splattered across his back, one even landing in his hood and exploding enough to get snow chunks down his shirt. "Cold," He yelped, a grin on his face though as he tried to avoid the snow in his shirt while still throwing snowballs back at her.
Rowan had a grin on, but she had run out of snowballs. She just turned her back to him and took the hits. Snow got in the hood on her back and she jumped as it touched her skin as well. She covered the back of her neck with her hands.
He laughed and quickly shook as much of the snow out of his shirt, leaving him vulnerable to snowball hits. Surprisingly they didn't come and he furiously started to make more, though he knew that he was going to wait until she got the snow off her skin before throwing them.
Rowan shook the snow off as she ducked behind a tree to make more snowballs. She had to make them quickly so Soren couldn't barrage her again. It was do or die here.
Soren had another armada of snowballs in his arms within a few minutes and he grinned. Quickly, he scooped them up into his arms as he scanned for Rowan, spotting her figure behind a tree and laughing lightly. He was going to go easy on her, knowing that he could get rough when playing in snowball fights.
Rowan had made a fair amount. It wasn't as many as she would have liked, but with Soren having that slight lead she needed to be quick. She scooped them up in her arms and poked her head out from the tree. Taking aims he threw one at Soren before trying to hide behind the tree again.
Soren threw one back as she poked her head out from behind the tree, watching it smack against the tree instead. Her snowball exploded against his leg and he laughed, shaking off the snow that stuck to him. He shook his head and smiled, quickly and silent trying to creep around the back of the tree to ambush her in away.
Rowan poked her head back out a little bit after hearing the snowball hit the tree. She didn't see Soren and that made her wary. Her eyes glanced around in different directions trying to see where he had disappeared to.
Soren had snuck up behind her, a tiny grin on his face as he threw a snowball at her back. He didn't throw it hard, just enough that she would feel it as he gave up on trying to be sneaky and dashed around to the other side of the tree.
Rowan jumped at the snowball on her back as she quickly spun around hoping to catch Soren. She threw a snowball at him before he dashed to the other side of the tree. She had a grin and moved so she could throw another snowball at his chest.
He laughed, watching the snowball hit his chest dead-on as he ran around the other side of the tree. It was fun, to be having a snowball fight with Rowan, especially as he threw a snowball of his own at her and tried to dart back to the other side of the tree to throw another one at her.
Rowan threw a snowball back at him. She curled up slightly as a snowball hit her arm. Her head and arm poked out to throw another snowball, aimed this time, at him from the other side of the tree. She had a huge grin on. This was so much fun!
Soren laughed again as both of her snowballs narrowly missed him, quickly returned by two of his own thrown from behind her. He didn't stay behind her for long, taking off away from the tree to try to get her back in the open. It was really fun, having a snowball fight, and he loved it.
Rowan jumped again as the snowballs hit her. She finally gave up her position from behind the tree seeing Soren out in the open. Her face was split with a huge grin as she threw a few more snowballs at Soren hoping one would hit, even if her supply was running low again.
He dodged as many of the throws as he could, laughing as the ones he couldn't dodge spattered against him. His own supply was running low again but he threw the rest of the ones he had, dashing farther away to start making more.
Rowan curled up a little and took the snowballs that hit her. She didn't try to dodge them with a beam on her face. She threw the last of her supply before gong behind a tree to make more grinning.
By now he was getting worn out, but he still tried to make as many snowballs as he could, glancing up from time to time to see if Rowan was going to attack yet. Her last few snowballs splattered around him and a few hit, but they weren't very accurate thankfully.
