Lucas blushed harder, his heart pounding hard in his chest. He was clearly floored and incredibly flustered, and he didn't know how to respond.

Smiling softly, she pulled away from him as she saw her house around the corner. "I'm sorry… I couldn't help it." Melissa whispered, leaning in and placing a soft kiss on his lips.
Lucas whined quietly, still not particularly coherent. He held tightly to Melissa's hand while he tried to get himself to relax.
"Did I push it too far?" Melissa asked softly, glancing back at him over her shoulder.
"No… n-no, I just… need a second…" Lucas said quietly, still very red and flustered. He took a few deep breaths to calm down.
"Alright, well we're almost back to the house." She hummed softly, running her fingers through her hair.
Lucas nodded and was thankfully able to chill out before they reached the house. He let go of Melissa's hand when they got close to the house so they wouldn't get in trouble.
"You alright now?" Melissa asked with a soft smile, as they reached the front door.
"Yeah, I'm… I'm fine." Lucas took another deep breath before he headed inside, holding open the door for Melissa.
"Thanks, Lu." She hummed, her smile brightening immensely as she walked through the door. "We should probably grab some lunch."
"Mhmm. What would you like to make, Melissa?" He asked. "I'm happy to try and help you, if you'd like."
"I don't really care. Whatever we have in the house." Once they were both inside, she shut the front door before turning back to him. "What do you want?"
"I'm not picky, Melissa." Lucas hummed. "Anything is fine with me. I don't know what you guys have here."
"And you think I do?" She teased, slipping pass him so she could get to the kitchen first. "You don't have any food allergies, right?"
"Not that I'm aware of." Lucas moved to let her aside, humming softly. "We could just make sandwiches again."
"I think we have peanut butter, and some kind of jam." Once in the kitchen, she pulled the fridge door open to scan over its contents.
"Mm. I'll probably just do peanut butter. You can do jam if you want, though." Lucas found some bread in the pantry.
"The peanut butter should be in there too." Melissa told him over her shoulder, before pulling out a small bottle of strawberry jam. Pausing, she decided against it sticking it back. "Honestly, I'm not all that hungry."
"I want you to eat if you can, Melissa. I mean… I'm not going to force you to do anything, but I'd feel better if you ate." He grabbed the peanut butter as well.
With a soft sigh, she shut the fridge before leaning against the counter. "I'm really not hungry though… I made sure to eat breakfast earlier… do I have to eat now?"
"It's healthy to eat three meals a day, Melissa." Lucas came over to her and sighed softly as well.
(This, coming from me lmao)
(Lol, you need to eat though…)
Struggling to find an excuse, she avoided looking up at him. "But as long as I eat something every day, isn't that better than nothing?" She asked weakly.
(Eh, we trying, kinda)
"It's better than nothing, yes, and I'm very proud of you for trying, but you do need to eat more." Lucas brushed his hand against hers.
Lifting her gaze up to his, she felt her breath catch in her throat. "I-…um, I… yeah, you're right…" She whispered, dropping her gaze back to the floor.
"Hey, hey. Don't feel bad, Melissa." Lucas gently tilted her chin up to face him. "I'm very proud of you for trying, okay? I'm so proud of you."
Tears spotted along her tear ducts, as she slowly broke down. Nodding softly, she did her best to keep herself together, but wasn't doing so well.
"No, no, please don't cry. Melissa, shh. Hey, it's okay, it's okay…" Lucas pulled Melissa into a hug, tears stinging his own eyes at the sight of hers.
As soon as he pulled her into the hug, she held on to him tightly burying her face in his shoulder. "I-I'm sorry… I don't even know why I'm crying." She mumbled against his shoulder.
"Shh, shh, it's fine, you're okay…" Lucas tightened his grip on Melissa. "I'm sorry, I… I didn't mean to upset you…"
"I-I don't think it was your fault." She whispered in response, trying to relax herself while he held her. It felt nice to be here, his arms around her.
