"Would you prefer I kiss you somewhere else?" Lucas asked, humming softly to himself.
"Would you prefer I kiss you somewhere else?" Lucas asked, humming softly to himself.
Lifting her face from her hands, she half froze. "I-I…" At a loss for words, she grew more and more red.
"Is that a yes?" Lucas asked, cocking his head to the side a bit. "I wouldn't want to do anything without your consent, of course."
"I… I don't even know myself…" She squeaked, burying her face in her own hands. "Yes? M-Maybe?"
Lucas smiled softly and held Melissa close to himself while he looked out at the willow branches. "The beauty of this place never fails to awe me, no matter how many times I come. It's nice to have someone to talk to while I'm here."
Forcing herself to calm down, she leaned into his chest and nodded softly. "It's gorgeous. Though I agree having someone here to talk to is good. I get antsy when I'm alone."
Lucas toyed with Melissa's hair a bit and nodded. "Still not as pretty as you." He grinned, hugging her a bit closer for a second.
"L-Lu…" She whined again, pouting as she glanced up. "Stoppp~ I can't handle it…."
"Aww, but I'm having fun!" Lucas grinned, kissing Melissa's cheek again. "Don't you like it?"
Letting out a sigh, Melissa gave in to his flattery. "A little… yeah…" She mumbled, running her thumb over the bracelet she was wearing.
Lucas grinned brighter and entwined his fingers with Melissa's. "I really love it here. I'm glad I can share it with you."
"I love it too," She smiled nuzzling her nose against his cheek. "I'm glad you were willing to share it with me."
Lucas flushed a bit and nodded. "I wouldn't want to share it with anyone else, Mel. I trust you to not destroy it.
"I don't normally destroy things." Melissa laughed softly, placing a gentle kiss of her own on his cheek. "Are we just staying here all morning?"
Lucas flushed harder and took a few seconds to think. "Um… we can if you want to, Mel. I don't mind either way."
"I'm good with it, we'll just have to go get lunch at some point." She whispered, resting her head back on his shoulder. "Are you really okay with it?"
Lucas nodded. "Yeah, of course. I love it here. Why would I want to leave sooner rather than later?" He hummed softly to himself.
"I dunno. Just wanted to make sure, I guess." Melissa shrugged, glancing down at their hands with a sweet smile. "But I should've known."
Lucas smiled softly in return and looked back out at the branches. "This place has always been my safe haven. I'd live here if I could."
"Why can't you?" Melissa asked him softly, studying the tree branches mindlessly. The tree was gorgeous, she'd love to have one in her backyard.
"Well, I… I dunno. I don't want to ruin the area by building a house here. Maybe I could in the clearing behind here, though…"
"If you figure it out, let me know." Melissa hummed, leaning more into his arms with a content sigh. "For now, though, let's just relax."
Lucas nodded, resting his head on top of Melissa's. "Are you looking forward to school starting up again?"
"I have mixed feelings. I'm not looking forward to the work… and some of the people." Melissa mumbled, picking out a few names she really couldn't stand.
"Mm… Yeah. Originally, I was looking forward to being able to get out of the house more, but I'm not stuck with my dad anymore."
“You’re just stuck with me.” She teased, poking his chest with her index finger. “So school can be used as an excuse not to be around me all the time.”
"That's not true. I like being around you more, Mel." Lucas rested his head on hers and sighed. "It's better for my mental health.
"I was teasing you." Melissa grinned, biting on her lip softly. "I know you would never say something like that. It just isn't you."
"Mhmm… I like to think I'm a decently nice person. At least most of the time." He smiled softly and pulled her closer.
"And you are, I promise you are." Melissa hummed with a bright smile. "That's a big reason I wanted to be your friend when we met."
