She hugged him back letting out a small sniffle

"Hey, what's wrong Caro?" He asked her softly, pulling back to look up at her face.

"I think brad doesn't love as much as says he does no one does" she said

"What do you mean? Why would you assume that?" Thomas asked her softly, not looking over to where Brad sat.

"he's different, disant we're always fighting, and he gets upset over everything" she said.

"What were you fighting about today?" Thomas asked her softly, cupping her cheek in his hand. "Maybe I can try and help."

she leaned into his touch and gently shook her head

"Come on Caroline, things won't get better if you bottle your feelings up." Thomas insisted, running his thumb over her cheek.

"I dont know" she cried out

"You don't know? What do you mean?" He asked softly, pulling her into a hug.

"I'm Scared Thomas" she said

"Scared of what, darling?" Thomas continued to ask, rubbing circles into her back.

"Everything" she cried.

"There's got to be a source to your fear." Thomas whispered, resting his chin on the top of her head.

" I have to Get surgrey" she said.

"And what comes next? What follows having surgery, that scares you?" Thomas asked her softly, once more.

"I have a fiffy fifty chance of surviving" she said.

Thomas remained calm, just rubbing circles into her back at a steady pace. "And what follows that?" He continued to ask, humming softly.

"Death" she said looking up at him

"And what scares you about death?" He asked, keeping a serious face. "Because you've tried to kill yourself before. It's something else."

" I don't want to lose people" she said.

Thomas smiled softly, figuring out where she was going. "And what people?"

she looked up at him with sad eyes

"Me? Brad? Lilly?" Thomas asked, listing a few people he knew.

she nodded resting her head on his chest

"Collins, Amber, your friends in the gang?" He continued to list off, stroking her hair.

she nodded gripping his shirt.

Thomas nodded weakly, still petting her softly. "And what follows loseing them?"

"I would have nothing thomas" she said.

Thomas let his smile drop, continuing to rock her back and forth in his arms. "And what scares you about having nothing?"
