"Mm… pretty good. I always like going to the park." Lucas hummed softly to himself. "Nice and quiet there, hmm? Takes you out of the stress and chaos of daily life, if only for an hour or two."

"I've always liked a good walk." He smiled softly at the two. Melissa seemed a little stiff, talking to her father. They'd always had some kind of strain, so this was new. "I was going to feed Lucas, and then send him to the shower. Do you think we could hang out in my room for a little bit afterwards?" Melissa asked softly, pulling bread from the counter. "I mean, I don't see any reason not." Mr. Brennahan shrugged pulling his laptop back open.

Lucas nodded and thanked Melissa's father quietly before they started making sandwiches. Lucas just made a simple turkey and cheese one and took a bite.

@Fraust

"You sure, Mel?" Lucas asked, looking over at her. "Gotta make sure you take care of yourself." He took another bite of his sandwich.

@Fraust

Lucas nodded. He soon finished his own sandwich considering he was starving and headed over to the couch to grab some fresh clothes. "See you soon, Mel." He waved and left to go shower.

"Towels are under the sink!" She called down the hall as he disappeared. Watching him go with a fond smile, she turned back to see her father watching her with a sweet smile. "W-what? Did I… did I do something wrong?" Melissa asked him, biting on her lip. His expression changing to a more concerned one, he shook his head. "Of course not honey, I just think you two are cute."

@Fraust

"Thanks!" Lucas yelled back down to Melissa, his voice a bit muffled from the walls between them. He stepped into the shower and immediately relaxed, taking his time to rinse out his hair and get all the dried blood off of himself.

Face flushing immensely, she found herself crossing her arms over her chest defensively. "We're not dating, papi. We're just friends. There's nothing else to it." She mumbled, sitting down on the edge of a chair by the table. "That's what I said about your mother." Mr. Brennahan smirked, watching Melissa flush more.

@Fraust

Lucas showered for a bit longer than he normally would, enjoying the hot water that wasn't available at his own house. After about fifteen to twenty minutes, he stepped out and started drying off. His hair, when it was clean and mussed up with a towel like this, was incredibly fluffy and soft. He soon came out of the bathroom in his fresh clothes and put his old clothes with his stuff, feeling a hell of a lot better than he had half an hour ago.

The two had had a long talk, focusing on multiple different things. But of course, the main focus had been on the two 'friends' and what was going on between them. Though Melissa was feeling at ease while she talked with him. It was odd, not having really spoken much in so long. "He almost hurt himself again while we were at the park." Melissa sighed, explaining her day in better detail.

@Fraust

Lucas shoved his clothes into his bag and headed back into the kitchen, running his fingers through his fluffy mess of hair to try and restore some form of order to it. "Hey, Mel… m'back."

Turning her head, she had a bright smile on her lips. "Hey! Did you have a good shower?" She asked in a hum, taking not of the fluffy mess on top of his head. "And if you want to brush that out, we have hairbrushes." Melissa's mood seemed to only be increasing, just happy to see him.

@Fraust

"Yeah… we don't have hot water at my house, so that's pretty nice…" Lucas yawned a bit. "I can fix it tomorrow… I'm kinda too tired to care at the moment."

Rolling her eyes just slightly, she held her arm behind the chair to look back at him. "Do you need to change your bandages? I bet they're water logged." Melissa offered, giving him a soft look.

@Fraust

"Well, I took those ones off… but I rebandaged everywhere but my head. The wounds seem to be healing up okay, so I don't think they constantly need bandages."

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

"The one on your head should probably get re-bandaged though." Melissa hummed getting up from her seat. "Can I get you anything before I go fix Lucas up, Papa?" Melissa asked softly, looking over her shoulder. With a shake of his head, Mr. Brennahan waved them off. "You kids go do whatever. I'm alright." He smiled softly, opening his laptop once more.

@Fraust

Lucas sighed and let Melissa drag him off to get fixed up. "But the head bandages are so uncomfyyyy…" He whined.

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

"Though having glass in your head was probably worse." Melissa pointed out, pulling him into the bathroom. "We'll do this in my room, you can sit on my bed." She mumbled, kneeling down to pull the bandages from under the sink.

@Fraust

"Well, yeah… but still." Lucas sighed and nodded, just allowing Melissa to drag him around. He followed her into her room and sat on the bed. "We grabbed disinfectant, right?"

@Fraust

"I know…" Lucas sighed and winced a bit when the bandages were taken away. "At least my hair is clean now and not… you know… bloody."

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

“Let’s just hope it stays that way.” Melissa whispered, taking the old bandages and tossing them away. “Am I already hurting you?” She asked him weakly, catching a glimpse of his face.

@Fraust

"Just a bit… it's not your fault, though. Don't worry about it, Mel." Lucas looked up at Melissa with a weak smile. "Let's just get this over with, yeah?"

@Fraust

Lucas nodded a bit, biting down hard on his lip and tensing up when Melissa touched the disinfectant to his head. It was like hand sanitizer in a paper cut, but a thousand times worse.

@Fraust

Lucas nodded again, trembling slightly. He bit down harder on his lip and soon tasted blood. That's not a good sign…

As soon as she finished, she pulled back away so he would know she was. “I need to put bandages on, but we’re gonna wait just a minute.” She told him, pained to see his hurt expression.
