Lucas smiled softly and relaxed when she started petting him. "It's nice and quiet up here…" He murmured.
Lucas smiled softly and relaxed when she started petting him. "It's nice and quiet up here…" He murmured.
"That's why I like it." She whispered, resting her head on top of his. It was still warm out, yet a steady breeze blew through the air. "The weather makes it ten times better."
"Mhmm…" Lucas sighed softly with content, relaxing a bit further. "Thanks for bringing me up here."
“You shared your special place, thought I’d share mine.” She hummed softly, pulling back from him. “You should see it at night, you can make out some of the stars.”
"Mm. We can stay out to see them, if you'd like." Lucas looked out at the sky. "I've always really liked the stars."
"We'd be here for a really long time. It's only… one o'clock I'm pretty sure." She mostly guessed, running her fingers through her hair. "Man I want to get this cut."
"We can come back out later, then…" Lucas watched her toying with her hair. "Why? It looks lovely the way it is."
"It's just so thick, and hot." She sighed, pulling her hair up into a loose messy bun. "And takes forever to dry. It's ridiculous."
"But it's pretty~" Lucas whined. "Maybe you could get an undercut so it's not so hot? Then it still looks pretty much the same."
Biting on her lip softly, she found her face flushing softly. "You think it's pretty? Really?" She whispered, thinking about it too deeply.
"I mean… yeah. Why wouldn't I?" He asked, cocking his head to the side a bit.
"I… I don't know…" She mumbled looking down at her feet. "Just something I wasn't expecting…" Voice soft and airy, she shifted her gaze up to him.
Lucas met her gaze, his expression soft and kind with a gentle smile on his face. "Well, why not?" He asked quietly.
Face down-casting, she studied her hands. Melissa wasn't sure she could look at him, as her heart fluttered in her chest. "Like I said, I don't have many friends. So I guess I don't think compliments are a normal thing."
"Oh, come now… I compliment you all the time. I guess I'll just have to do it more often." Lucas pulled Melissa into a hug again.
"Y-you really don't have to…" She whispered, loosely holding onto him. A lump formed in her throat, and she bit on her tongue just slightly. "It was just another mindless statement."
"Well, I want to, and you can't stop me." Lucas patted Melissa's head and grinned playfully.
Pulling back from him, she had a warm face. "As long as I can compliment you back." She whispered, cupping his cheek in her hand.
"Nooooo…" Lucas whined, leaning into Melissa's hand. "Just you. I don't get compliments."
A small smirk grew on her lips, and she leaned forward just slightly. "You're handsome, talented, sweet, and kind." She rattled off still biting on her lips with a smirk. "Smart, strong, and caring. You're trusting, and innocent. Those are all good qualities you have."
"Stooooop." Lucas whined, covering his ears and stepping away a bit. "You know I can't deal with compliments… you're so mean to me, Mel." He whined playfully.
Grinning more, she stood up to follow after him. "You're cute, funny, and have the most stunning eyes." Melissa grinned, wrapping her arms around his waist. "I can keep going if you won't accept them."
"Nooooooo…" Lucas hid his red face in his hands, his heart racing. "Stop, Mel… I don't deserve all that…"
"You asked for it." She giggled, resting her head on his back. "Your voice is calming, and you're so willing to listen to me when I need to rant. Or even just talk about stupid things together. You've got all the best qualities of the potential perfect boyfriend."
Lucas was completely red by now and he looked up at Melissa, surprised and stalled. Wait, hold on a fucking minute.
Pulling back, she gave him a look with a raised eyebrow. "What?" She asked, not even noticing what she had just said. Clearly at that, otherwise her face would be bright red.
"…You said I have all the best qualities of the potential perfect boyfriend." Lucas replied weakly, trying to process it.
(Me, wondering when we're gonna decide to make them hook up already)
(Eheh, welllll-)
Melissa froze, eyes growing wide. Her face flushed slightly, and she rubbed her neck awkwardly. "I… you know, I meant in general. A lot of girls would be lucky to be with you."
(Lmao)
Lucas looked away awkwardly. He'd blush harder if he possibly could at this point, but he was already incredibly red. Of course… I'm just being stupid… why would she like me?
On the inside, she was full on screaming at herself. 'What are you doing you idiot!? Come on, you gotta tell him at some point!' Though she didn't now, and wasn't sure she ever would. "Did I mess something up?" Melissa asked softly, taking his hand in her own.
