@Fraust

Lucas looked up at her again, tears stinging his own eyes at the sight of hers. "I-I guess not, but I… I just wish I could do more to help you instead of just being a useless mess all the time."

“You aren’t a useless mess.” She told him, trying to rid her tears. She didn’t want him to cry, she wasn’t sure she was up to that right now. “You are the best thing that ever happened to me.”

@Fraust

"…Well now I feel more bad for you." Lucas laughed weakly, trying to rub away his own tears. "Sorry, sorry… not the time for jokes, is it?"

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

Rolling her eyes, she laughed lightly. “Not really, but I’m not going to stop you.” She sighed, looking down to her lap. “Honestly, you really are. Besides Laura, I really don’t have friends. Good friends I mean.”

@Fraust

Lucas smiled weakly. "You're really my only close friend. The baseball guys are nice and all, but there's no way in hell I'd be telling them about the shit that I've told you."

@Fraust

Lucas nodded, stretching out a bit as well when Melissa did. "Yeah… I remember being in class in second grade, and you were watching me doodle something with my pencil. I don't remember what, but you were very interested." He laughed.

"Oh yeah!" She laughed as well, resting her head on his chest after sprawling out on the couch. "I think it was you and your puppy. Maybe…" She hummed, thinking about it. "Probably at least. All I know is that Claus was off doing something else. Otherwise I probably would've talked to him."

@Fraust

"Yeah." Lucas laughed a bit. "Probably causing trouble like usual, knowing him. I was always the quiet one, and people tended to forget I existed." He sighed softly and toyed with Melissa's hair a bit. "I never did show you my sketchbook, did I?"

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

Shaking her head, she looked up to him hopefully. "Nope… would you? Would you show me?" Speaking in a soft and gentle tone, she questioned him. "We can wait, but I mean, you'll show me at some point. Right?"

@Fraust

"Yeah, I can show you after the movie's over…" Lucas pulled Melissa a little closer and turned his gaze back to the screen.

Relaxing fully, she nodded just barely. "Sounds… sounds like a plan." She mumbled with a yawn. This was nice, him holding her close while they watched a movie, it was dumb, but she liked it a lot.

@Fraust

After a while, the movie finally ended and Lucas sighed. He nudged Melissa to get her attention. "Hey, it's over. You wanna see the drawings now?"

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

Jolting just slightly, she looked up to him in a panic. "Huh?" It occurred to her she must have fallen asleep, and with what he said the movie was over. "O-oh yeah, your bag is…. I think it's upstairs in my room?"

@Fraust

Lucas nodded and got up, stretching a bit before he held out his hand to help Melissa up. "Yeah, I saw it in there this morning."

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

"I barely remember anything I did yesterday clearly. Everything is in a haze." She sighed, taking his hand to pull herself up. Once on her feet, she rubbed her tired face with the palms of her hands. "I'm going to be, at like eight o'clock tonight. And sleeping in until noon tomorrow."

@Fraust

"Sounds good to me." Lucas shrugged and tugged her up the stairs. He only let go of her when he had to dig through his bag to find his sketchbook. "Um… here, you can just look through this." He handed the book over to Melissa.

Taking it, she shifted her gaze over to her closet. "You know, I think we should go outside. It's suppose to be nice." She hummed, tucking the sketchbook under her arm before opening her closet door.

@Fraust

"Er, alright. If you want to." Lucas shrugged and watched her walk over to the closet curiously, staying where he was.

@Fraust

Lucas shook his head. "Not that I'm aware of." He followed Melissa up the ladder, intrigued by the hidden area.

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

Up the ladder was a small roof top patio, surrounded by a fence along one side, and roof on the side by the front. "You can't see it from down on the ground, unless you're in the backyard." She explained quickly, before stepping over to the hammock. The whole thing was all kind of small, but still enjoyable. Candles were on the ground, unlit, and lights were strung up on the railing. "It's not much, but I come here when I need to hide from my parents."

@Fraust

"It's nice." Lucas hummed softly, looking around so he could take in the place. "Kinda reminds me of my little place in the forest." He smiled.

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

"Yours is better, but I can't exactly leave my house without a place and permission to go. So this does the job." She sighed, patting the spot next to her on the hammock, beginning to flip through the sketchbook.

@Fraust

"Yeah…" Lucas watched her intently as she flipped through the pictures. They were mostly sketches of Boney, presumably from old pictures he had, some of him and Claus, some of his mother, and a fair few of Melissa. Lucas had forgotten about that, of course, and blushed when Melissa came across drawings of herself.

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

"These are awesome, Lu." She grinned, flipping the page over. Surprised to see it, she lifted her gaze up to him. "You…you drew me?" She asked in a soft tone, eyes falling back onto the page. A soft smile grew on her lips, running her finger carefully over the picture.

@Fraust

Lucas nodded a bit, unable to meet Melissa's eyes. His face was quite flushed by now and he was getting fidgety from nerves.

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

"You're honestly an amazing artist," She whispered under her breath, flipping the book closed. It was silly, but small things like that lit her up like a firework. "You're too sweet Lu!" She grinned, pulling him into a hug.

@Fraust

Lucas hugged her back and tried to hide his red face in her shoulder. "I-I'm glad you think so, Mel…" He murmured softly.
