"Mhmm…" Lucas nodded in understanding. "Sorry about that…" He murmured, entwining their fingers again.
"Mhmm…" Lucas nodded in understanding. "Sorry about that…" He murmured, entwining their fingers again.
"For what? Asking?" She whispered, feeling a smile grow on her lips. His hand was bigger than her own, but mostly because her hand was tiny. "Because you don't have to be."
"Well, I-I mean… I'm kinda the reason you're exhausted, right? You had to drag my sorry ass back here to fix me up, and I'm sorry." Lucas rested his head against Melissa's and sighed.
"Oh stop it, I had Brett come and pick me up. He drove me back here, so don't worry about it. I just had a bad night, I couldn't fall asleep." Melissa informed him, fiddling with their intertwined hands.
"Well, I'm still sorry for causing you guys so much trouble…" He looked over at her again, feeling guilty. "I shouldn't have passed out like that…"
"Good grief, do you hear yourself?" She asked, looking up at him. "You sound kinda ridiculous. You passed out, after getting beat up. I'm not blaming you for anything. So you need to stop blaming yourself" She sassed a bit, giving him a look. Though she had a half smile to keep things light hearted.
Lucas flushed a bit, surprised by Melissa's tone and words. "I… y-you're right… I'm sorry, Mel… it's just hard for me to not feel bad for causing you so much trouble…"
"You don't have to be sorry about this, I get it Lu." She hummed, softening her tone with a slight sigh. She wanted to make sure he didn't feel hurt by her words, but she wasn't going to ask if she had.
Lucas nodded, forcing himself to relax again. He clearly wanted to apologize again, but he bit his tongue and kept quiet.
"You want to apologize again, don't you?" She whispered, focusing on the movie with a slight smile.
"…Yeah.." Lucas blushed a bit again, toying with his hair. "You know, when someone tells you to stop apologizing, you just want to apologize for apologizing so much."
“Go ahead, you can apologize. You just have to understand you didn’t do anything wrong.” She whispered, squeezing his hand in hers. “I’ll let you know when you do. Promise you.”
"I'm sorry… and thanks. I know you won't, but thanks for the thought anyways, Mel." Lucas smiled softly and hugged Melissa.
She didn’t hug back, only leaning more into him. “If something is bugging me, and it’s your fault, I will tell you. If I don’t, you’ll find out and then I’ll have to tell you.” Melissa whispered, before giving in to the hug.
Lucas nodded. "Alright… thank you. It means a lot that you'd be willing to tell me. I'll try my best to do the same, although you don't typically bother me."
"Sure, I've never bothered you ever." She teased, poking his cheek with her pointer finger. "Same goes for you mister, you rarely bother me. There's only been like two times ever."
Lucas blushed a bit. "Same here. You honestly very rarely bother me, Mel. I'm not easy to piss off. With the exception of Claus, of course… He and I bickered over everything."
"Though that's because you loved him, and it was okay to fight. You'd make up eventually." She hummed, looking up at him with a bright smile. "Though I bet I've gotten to you before."
"I-I mean… I remember us arguing about some stupid stuff when we were younger, but we only argue about important things now."
"Yeah, important." She snorted, thinking of an argument they had only last week. "The difference between saying pecan or pecan is very important." She snickered with a soft smile.
"No, I mean like… we argued the other day about you not taking care of yourself, and me not taking care of myself either. That kind of thing."
"Yeah I know, I was just pointing out we still have dumb fights too." Whispering, she found her focus wandering back to the movie. "But we're still friends, so it's nothing to worry about until we aren't anymore."
"Mhmm. And I can't see us not being friends anytime soon." Lucas smiled softly and pulled Melissa closer.
Melissa turned her gaze back to him, feeling a smile grow on her lips. "We're doing it Lu," She snickered, eyes gazing into his. "We're talking instead of watching the movie."
Lucas sighed and covered his face with his free hand, grinning weakly. "We always do this, don't we?"
"Whenever at my house at least. We haven't really gone gone to see a movie." Humming softly she pulled his hand down, lacing their fingers. "I don't mind, I like talking to you. It's nice to have background noise, I feel like things could get awkward."
"Yeah… Lady and the Tramp isn't too hard to follow anyways." He laughed softly and looked back up at the screen. "Ah, well… you win some, you lose some."
Laughing softly, she snuggled up close to him. If you looked at them, you'd be wondering how on earth they had managed to get into such a position. But with the way Melissa was fidgeting, it wasn't too hard to figure out. "I guess so," She hummed with a soft smile.
Lucas rested his head against Melissa's and kept watching the movie, humming softly when the spaghetti scene came up. "I love dogs… I dunno about dogs kissing or anything, but dogs are the best."
"What's your favorite kind of dog? Do you have one?" Finding herself to whisper, her heart beat a little faster as she glanced up to his lips. The want she had, to kiss him only grew stronger. "It's alright if you don't, I'm just curious."
