"Sure. If that's what you want to watch, I'll watch it with you." Lucas shrugged.
"Sure. If that's what you want to watch, I'll watch it with you." Lucas shrugged.
“I was joking, though I really don’t care. Knowing us, we’d talk through the whole thing.” She chuckled pushing herself up slightly.
"Yeah…" Lucas considered for a few seconds. "Is there any new movies out you haven't seen yet?"
“I haven’t seen a lot of movies. So there’s a large possibility I haven’t seen something you’re possibly thinking of?” She raised her tone in the end to make of more question sounding.
"I'm not thinking anything in particular." Lucas shrugged. "I don't typically get to see movies either."
“Well we should look something up then. Something with good reviews.” She hummed, pulling her phone from her pocket.
"Alright. Lemme know when something piques your interest." Lucas sighed and stared at the TV screen.
"Here, you can flip through channels." She hummed, handing the remote over before going back to her phone.
Lucas nodded and did so, flicking through the channels in hopes of finding anything remotely interesting.
Scrolling mindlessly, she didn't find anything to pique her interest. "We could watch some old Disney show, or something. Or we could do something else entirely." She hummed, still scrolling.
"Let's watch Lady and the Tramp or something. I always liked that one when I was little." Lucas found his way onto Netflix and handed the remote to Melissa.
Smiling at his suggestion, she pushed herself up after having sunk into the couch. "Sounds like a plan." Melissa beamed, searching up Lady and the Tramp. Finding it, she turned to face him. "Ready?"
"For what?" Lucas asked, confused. "Uh… the movie, or something else?" I'm probably just being stupid, aren't I?
"Yeah, the movie." She hummed, sliding her arm around his shoulders. "What did you think I meant?" She asked softly.
"I have no idea, honestly. I mean, you just turned towards me, so I was kinda confused… nevermind me, I'm stupid. Let's just start the movie, hmm?"
Resting her head against him, she clicked play with a soft smile. "I didn't mean to confuse you, sorry Lu." She hummed under her breath as the movie began.
"It's fine… like I said, I'm a bit slow sometimes." Lucas smiled softly and rested his head on Melissa's as he shifted his gaze to the screen.
"I don't mind that, I just have to explain further. It's honestly good for me." She hummed, taking his hand in hers. "I go too fast sometimes."
"Mm… you're fine, Mel." Lucas entwined his fingers with Melissa's and watched the movie intently.
Melissa found herself watching Lucas intently, instead. She loved the movie, but found him way more interesting than the animation displayed on the screen. Though she didn't want to stare at him, so she kept glancing up to the television just in case. 'Just focus on the movie, if you don't he'll ask you what you're doing. You don't want that.' She told herself, before focusing solely on that.
Lucas didn't seem to notice Melissa watching him, being too distracted by the cartoon dogs. "It's been a long time since I've seen this…" He murmured softly, smiling a bit.
“Do you remember any of it?” She asked softly, rubbing her thumb over his hand gently. He seemed happy, which made her happy. She never liked to see him down.
"Um… some, I guess? I mostly just remember the dogs and that one spaghetti scene." He shrugged, keeping his eyes on the screen.
“Makes sense.” She nodded, seeming to start zoning out. She didn’t pick up a word that was being spoken in the movie, completely lost in thought.
Lucas glanced over at Melissa and noticed her being distant. "You good, Mel?" He asked, wondering what she was thinking about.
The sound of his voice snapped her from her thoughts, and she found herself looking at him. It was a deer caught in the headlights kind of moment, and she sat there trying to figure out what he had said. “Sorry… what?” Melissa asked, face growing pink once more.
"Um… I asked if you were alright. You kinda spaced out there, Mel." Lucas laughed softly, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.
"O-oh, yeah sorry. Like I said earlier, I think I'm just kinda tired from yesterday and all." She shrugged, holding a yawn in the back of her throat.
"Alright… make sure you sleep tonight, okay?" Honestly, Lucas had slept pretty well. His own bed was just a decrepit old mattress on the floor, so sleeping in an actual bed was very pleasant. He was still mentally exhausted, though.
Nodding, she relaxed into a more comfortable position against him. "I normally sleep pretty well, I think a lot happened though yesterday." She mumbled, glancing back at their hands.
