"I don't want more, but you need to eat, Mel. You promised you would." Lucas finished his own pancake and held out the other to Melissa.
"I don't want more, but you need to eat, Mel. You promised you would." Lucas finished his own pancake and held out the other to Melissa.
"I still have more batter, I was just asking you." She hummed, pushing the plate away. "I was just asking if you needed more." Melissa informed, dumping a scoop of batter into the pan.
"Well, I'm alright, then. Thanks." Lucas sat back down and waited patiently for Melissa to come over to the table.
Quickly making herself one, she flipped it onto a plate so she could eat. Carrying the plate to the table, fork in her hand, she carefully tore a bit of it off to eat. "You sure you aren't hungry?"
"I'm sure. I've already had…" Lucas looked down at his plate. "One and a half pancakes. That's way more than I usually eat."
"I mean, I guess that is a lot for you." She nodded, chewing slowly. "Do you need anything to drink?"
Lucas shook his head. "No, I've already got some water from taking the pills earlier. How's your pancake?" He asked.
Shrugging, she looked up to him. "Fine I guess, though I'm not exactly hungry." She mumbled, seeming a little dull.
"Mm… you okay, Mel?" He asked, concerned. "You're a little bit off… do you need anything? I'm here to help. Er… if I can."
"Just tired, I guess." She answered just as dully. Not making an effort to try and cheer up, she looked back to him. "Did you wanna watch a movie?"
"Sure, Mel." Lucas still seemed worried, but he didn't push her further. Maybe watching something will cheer her up…
"What do you want to watch?" She continue to mumble, only playing with her food.
"Anything's fine with me… would you please eat, Mel?" He asked softly. "I'm worried about you…"
"I really am just not hungry." She repeated from earlier, taking another small bite. "You don't have to be worried."
"I'm sorry, I just… I wanna make sure you're taken care of and healthy and stuff. I don't want you to get hurt, Mel."
"Don't be sorry for caring, I get being worried for your friend." She gave him a soft smile, reaching over to take his hand. "I know you want to take care of me, and you're doing what you can. That's only another reason I love you."
Lucas blushed a bit, looking up at Melissa to admire her. "I… I-I love you too, Mel." He stammered. "Just… let me know if you need anything, alright?"
"A hug would be nice," She continued to smile, taking a hold of his hand. "Though it can wait, if you don't feel like it right now."
"I think I can do that." Lucas smiled softly and pulled Melissa into a hug, holding her close to himself and secure.
Sliding her arms around him, she found herself leaning into him. A soft sigh escaped her lips, but it was one of content. "You give great hugs." She whispered, burying her face into the crook of his neck.
"Glad to hear it, Mel." He hugged her a bit tighter, his soft smile lingering. "Let me know when you wanna head over to the couch, but don't rush yourself. We've all the time in the world."
"I'm happy to go now, if you're ready." She whispered again in response, pulling back just slightly. Carefully, she pressed her lips to his forehead, before turning back to her plate. Sliding it off the table, she slid from her seat to go set it on the counter.
Lucas froze, his face steadily flushing a deep red. He didn't seem like he was entirely sure what happened, but after a few seconds, he just shook his head a bit and gathered himself.
Having carried both plates, and set them on the counter, she turned back to him with a light smile. "Ready?" She asked, her good mood starting to come back. Hands on her hips, she was standing over him while by the kitchen table.
"Uh… y-yeah, ready." Lucas blinked a bit and headed over to the couch, making sure that Melissa was following him every step of the was. His cheeks were still quite pink from Melissa kissing him.
Once he sat down, she sat besides him. Though she also threw her legs across his. "Does this bug you? Because I can always move." She asked, reaching behind her for the remote.
"No, you're fine." Lucas leaned back against the couch and sighed softly. "You said you don't know what to watch, right?"
"Not really, we can always flip through channels or see what's on Netflix. Unless you have something in mind." She hummed, stretching her stomach out flat when she had grabbed the remote.
"Anything's fine with me, Mel. I'm not picky. The TV in my house doesn't even work." He laughed quietly.
“Well then, we should watch high school musical.” She snickered, in a joking tone. “If you really don’t care.”
