Jade shook her head slightly, wondering what to say next. yeah

He let out a slow breath.

Jade sighed a little and stared at her phone.

He leaned back in his seat.

ok. Take care. she sighed, a little disappointed that conversation was over.

He took a deep breath. you can come over, if you like

I would like that… But I have to check on a few things first. Maybe this afternoon? she sent. As much as she wanted to spend all day with him again, she did have a job she needed to do.

Great! See you then, handsome 😉 Jade blushed a little as she rapidly sent the message before rereading it.

He laughed quietly, a little smile tugging at his lips. see you

Jade tried not to blush again despite how her heart fluttered at the thought of seeing him again.

”You finally done sending flirty texts to your new boyfriend?” Sophie asked, leaning against the counter as she smirked at her roommate.

He set his phone down, taking a deep breath and letting it out.

Jade turned to glare at her, wondering how and when she had snuck into the room without her noticing. ”He’s not my boyfriend and we weren't flirting.” she quickly explained. Since she honestly had no idea what they were it wasn't a lie.

”Mmhm. Yeah, sure.” Sophie chuckled knowingly, still smirking. ”You going to see him again?”

Killian flopped down to take a nap, laying on his stomach.

Jade rolled her eyes at the question. ”I have to work.” she said, not hiding her annoyance.

”And what about after?” Sophie asked smugly as she arched a brow. ”Should I expect you back tonight?”

Killian fell asleep, letting out a sigh.

”Probably.” Jade shrugged as she walked back to her room to change. ”I’ll let you know if that changes.”

”Ooooooh.” Sophie teased. ”No hurry. Stay as looong as you want.”

Killian rolled into his side, still asleep on his couch.

Jade gave her one last glare before shutting her door and getting dressed for the day. She had to stop by her Den for a while to check for any criminal activity and take care of a few things for her other job as a computer phone technician. She got a lot of simple calls on that job but it at least paid the bills.

Killian kept sleeping. He woke up after a bit to pull a blanket over his body, then fell asleep again.

Jade finished getting ready and exited the apartment. ”Stay out of trouble, Soph.”

”No promises.” Sophie joked. ”Have a good time with your hot boyfriend.”

Killian kept sleeping.

(So I'm thinking Killian catches a cold or something?)

Jade drove off, taking a random route to her workplace.
