Killian let out a breath.
Killian let out a breath.
Jade sighed a little and went about her usual routine and turned on the news. She hoped that by acting normal and attributing her tiredness last night to her migraine that Sophie would not bring up her spending the day with Killian.
Killian finished making his plans, setting them aside for later.
The news this morning seemed pretty uneventful. Nothing that needed attention or immediate action. Jade sighed, relaxing a little at that.
Killian hummed softly, flopping onto the couch to watch the news.
Jade froze for a minute as a picture of Henry Blackwood appeared on the tv. The news saying that the criminal had been placed back in prison yesterday.
Killian inhaled sharply at the image of his father, sitting up and frowning.
The picture was only on screen for just a few seconds, but Jade couldn't stop from glaring at the image as the news anchor reassured the fact that the man was securely behind bars and would be kept there until the end of his new sentence. Now including the time added for escaping.
Killian was shaking. Or at least his hands were.
Jade turned away from the tv and picked up her phone. Are you up? she sent, wondering if Killian had seen it… Hoping he hadn't.
Killian heard his phone ding, picking it up and replying with a simple yes.
Jade winced at the quick reply. Did you see the news?
yes. He replied again, taking a deep breath.
I am so sorry. she sent, genuinely upset for him.
its fine. He rubbed his face with a hand, shaking his head.
Do you want to talk about it? she sent hoping that it wasn't too much for her to ask.
not really. he took a deep breath.
I understand. If you ever want to, I’m here for you. she sent assuringly.
thank you.
You’re welcome 😉 she didn't know why she added that emoji but the message still sent.
is he the reason you left yesterday?
Jade hesitated before replying to that question.
yes
you could have told me.
I didn't want to worry you.
yeah. well.
I’m sorry
it's okay
At least now he can't get to you she offered as some assurance.
yeah, that's true
Jade stared at her phone, reading his last message but unsure how to reply to it. On one hand, she felt a bit of relief that he didn't seem angry with her for not telling him yesterday. But she didn't think it was a good idea to tell him exactly what happened when she faced his father.
