(It's all good!)
Giving him a shy smile, she sat up. "I'm alright, thank you though." She told him, pressing her lips against his cheek. Slipping back down into her seat, she rested her head on his shoulder once more. He was perfectly comfortable to her, and she didn't need him to move.
Forcing her thoughts onto something else, she watched her pale hands attentively. She stretched them, and spread them apart. Just to distract her. And it was working some. She wasn't thinking of the bad scenarios any more. So that was a plus.
When she kissed his cheek he stiffened a little before turning furiously red. Well, as red as his darker skin could get. Thank goodness it didnt show much.
He looked down to his own lap, his blonde hair falling in his face as he did. Oh golly, what was this?
His stone cold heart beat fast against his chest as he still felt her lips linger on his cheek.
And man, she looked absolutely adorable in that hoodie, it was almost hilarious. Her scent. Maybe it was perfume, maybe it was just her honey sweet blood that drove him to her in the first place.
He didnt know what in the world it was, but there was something different about her and he was worried. If she could draw in a vampire that’s lived almost 200 years alone, then she would definitely lure in wolves. And plenty of them. She was basically asking to get eaten with that sweet aura of hers.
He leaned his head on hers, not disturbing her from her comfortableness. (If thats a word lol)
Closing his eyes, Cass found himself drifting off into a short nap.
(I think this is going to have to be a shorter response, because my brain isn't functioning this morning)
(that's totally fine. Mine isn't really either right now)
Harmony herself, felt she was beginning to slip off. But she was determined not to.
She wanted Cass to fall asleep first, just so she knew he had gotten any bit of sleep. She began to hum softly, twisting the strings of his hoodie around her painted finger nail. Her silver blue eyes seemed to have lost focus onto the seat in front of them, and she was mindlessly starring.
No thoughts were going through her head, just silence. Somehow she had managed to drown out the noise from the bus, a tired look settling on her face.
She could feel the added pressure from his head on hers'; that had snapped her out of her state. Blinking a few times, she rested her hand on his knee.
"Hey Cass?" She asked in a soft tone. If he was asleep, she would let herself slip off. If he responded, she wasn't going to let herself sleep.
She wasn't quite sure why, but she felt like she had to make sure he had to fall asleep. It was odd.
"You still awake?"
(I'm sorry I'm having troubles coming up with a decent reply. I'll try my best to get it up in a sec. Sorry to keep you waiting so long!)
He had, yes, fallen asleep. A light sleep though, so he was waken up by her voice.
Turning his head surprised to see her awake since he thought she was asleep. Smiling a little, he nodded. "yeah I'm awake. You okay?"
(again, I'm sorry it's so short)
(It's alright hun! You can keep making it shorter if you need. And I'm sorry that I disappeared yesterday, I wasn't even home.)
"Just fine, I was wondering though…" She mumbled, trailing off her thought for a moment. She had lost what she was thinking, as soon as she had heard his voice. It distracted her, but in a good way. It just made her feel all fluttery.
"Wondering… Oh right, how do you think this trip is gonna go?" Harmony asked, humming slightly.
He couldn't help but laugh a small bit when she lost her train of thought then regained it again. She was absolutely adorable and he wasn't about to deny it.
"hm…" he stopped to think, sitting back and looking back at the ceiling of the bus for a few seconds before looking back at her.
"I think it's gonna be fun! I'm excited" he says with a bright smile. "what about you?"
She honestly looked far from excited, as she looked down at the floor. A huff came from her, before she looked back up to him, scanning his face. His smile was contagious, so she smiled back.
"I really don't know, I've never been. So what am I suppose to expect?" She asked, bouncing her leg in place, just slightly.
"I guess I'm nervous, but I think I'll be fine." She told him, her smile staying on her lips.
In all honesty he was nervous as well. The wolves made him already paranoid and scared for everyone's safety. It was in his hands to protect them. To protect her. Could he do that against a pack of hungry wolves in their territory?
He didn't let it show though, so he ruffled her hair and wrapped one arm around her, pulling her to his body. "it'll be alright" he says kissing the top of her head, returning the kiss from earlier.
"if anything goes wrong leave it to me to fix it and you'll be safe" he says confidently. And he meant it
Her face flushed, and she let a half nervous smile stay on her lips. Her thoughts were off in a spiral, but she did her best to contain them.
"You sounds so confident in that." She whispered, resting her head on his chest. He was just so inviting, and sweet. Feeling more calmed, she let her silver-blue eyes rest, and made herself fully relax.
"And I trust you on that. Though I don't want the pressure to be fully on you." She whispered, taking the hand from around her arms, and pulled it tighter around her.
That was it. That's when his cold heart just melted in fluttery sweet goodness as she pulled his arm tighter and he held her in his arms. The feeling of protection he had over her only grew in that instant and his heart was a Pitter pattering mess in his chest.
Holding her there he yawned a little bit, trying his best not to show his fangs as usual. Though failing. Luckily she wouldn't have seen right? It was fine. He was pretty careless and could play it off quite a bit.
Closing his eyes, he leaned his head back and tried to take a nap. A small one before the nightmares Flood in.
Her head cleared of its thoughts, and she slowly, but surely started to nod off. The shakiness of the bus wasn't ideal, but she had the sureness of Cassius's arms around her. It felt right to have him here. No one would convince her otherwise.
'Just be careful, last time you got your heart broken.' She warned herself, biting her lip gently.
Sucking in a deep breath, she let it out slowly as she thought about one of the last time she had fallen for a pretty face. It didn't end well, and surely she didn't want to repeat it. The terrible feeling she got from it, was something that still broke her heart. It had been three years, and she had assumed she was over it, but when a guy tells you to grow up and forget your dreams, it's quite hard to forgive and forget.
So with that terrible thought in mind, she slipped into a sleep she wasn't going to wake easily from.
(wanna skip to the arrival?)
(That's what I was thinking :P)
(Thank you!)
Cassius had been awake for about 3 of the five hour road trip, listening to all of the snores and waves of talking as his headache grew. The clitter clatter of the bus as it rocked back and forth annoyed him, but he didn’t let that bring him down.. no, how could be be brought down?
In his arms was this adorable little ball of joy and sweetness sleeping, cuddled up beside him.
Every time he looked down at her his face turned red and he forced himself to look away or else he might accidentally wake her up by his heart beating so fast.
Which by the way he didn't know the could happen since it was so cold, nor did he think he could blush since its simply heat rising in your cheeks. But apparently it is! And he wasn't complaining.
They passed the rather large beach down the gravel road and into the forest where it became rather foggy. Everything was dark and a bit spooky. Definitely the place werewolves would live.
Soon they came into a circular camp with cabins on all sides not far into the forest.
He turned back to her, oh that frikin adorable little ball of cutness. No, what was he thinking?
Mentally cursing himself, he gently rubbed the side of her arm in hopes to wake her up. Hopefully she was a light sleeper. “Hey, we’re here.” He says gently as he tried to drown out all of the other classmates loud talking everywhere.
The sky, was so incredibly midnight blue. The stars scattered just perfectly, reflecting off the little pond she was sitting at. Though she wasn't alone. Another figure sat besides her, on the soft white sand. Toes filing through the soft, and fine sand.
"Beautiful night," Avoiding the stranger's gaze, she starred up at the moon. "Indeed it is," He responded, scooting closer to her.
"Though aren't you worried about what could be out there?" Harmony asked the other with a faint fear painted on her face. With a light laugh, he put his arm around her in a comforting way.
"Not at all, because what's out there, is like…"
Her dream never finished, as the soft sound of another voice was waking her up. She couldn't stop herself from coming to the day light, being the lighter sleeper she was.
"Hmm?" She asked, glancing at her arm. Another was wrapped around her, and she followed it up to Cassius's face. "O-oh, we are?" Coming back to reality, and piecing things together, she sat up with his arm still around her. "I didn't mean to sleep the whole time, I'm so sorry."
She felt rather embarrassed to have slept the entire time, as she had planned to only sleep for an hour to make him happy. Though that clearly hadn't happened.
"Should we get our stuff, or just get off the bus?" Unsure of what to do, she took ahold of his hand, and laced their fingers mindlessly. She wasn't thinking straight, as she was still in her sleepy state from before. Yawning, she stretched out in the seat before turning to face her friend besides her.
Okay um I just had this whole entire frikin post set up and typed then it got deleted. So I need to regain all of that motivation….
(It's all good! Take your time hun <3)
(Still, take your time, I was just gonna bump this while I'm here)
(You know what, i was going to wait but i dont want to make you wait any longer. I just wont make it as long)
Cass’s face turned a bit warm when her fingers laced within his but he didnt say anything about it, only enjoying the blissful moment and her small hand in his.
Snapping out of his overwhelming thoughts and forcing his mind to stay out of the gutter he turned back to her. “Oh, right…we should uh…probably get off the bus. We’ll- oh wait the professors telling us what to do” he says keeping her close and nodding towards the professor as the man spoke.
“Kids, we’re going to get off of the bus and get assigned to the cabins. Boys on left, ladies on the left side of the circle” the old mans voice was shakily heard through the bus as he gestured to the left.
Right outside was a bit circle of cute little log cabins with a big camp fire in the middle and on the edge of the circle was a bigger building made out of the same material as everything else.
“Its going to start raining soon, so get your luggage and help eachother out. Ill start listing names and assigning you to cabins while you get your things” he says getting out a slip of paper with his shaky hands. Why he hasn’t retired yet was a mystery to all of the students.
Turning to her, Cass let out a small sigh “well…guess we have our answer. Ill carry your things. You’re tired” he says ruffling her hair.
(You really didn't have to, I'm patient, and I can wait :) You don't have to worry about responding)
Harmony listened to the older gentleman's voice, running her thumb over his hand. She wasn't even thinking about it, she was just using it as a nervous tick. When the man finished speaking, she looked to Cassius when he spoke.
"You don't have to, I don't mind. Really I don't." She whispered, pulling out of his arms.
"You have your own things to carry, and I have a feeling we'll be lucky enough to get opposite sides of the small camp. I know it isn't a far walk, but it's enough for one person to go back and forth with double the luggage." She hummed to him, pecking the tip of his nose. Walking around him, she shuffled her way to the front of the bus.
Though it was difficult with the swarm of people also trying to get off. She wasn't the biggest person around, so this was a difficult task. People pushed pass her, elbowing her or trying to trip her up.
"S-sorry, excuse me." She mumbled, finally coming up to the front of the bus to get off. Once on the solid ground, she glanced around for Cassius, trying to look over the tops of heads for him.
"n-no it's fine. I can easily do that. I really dont-" he was cut off my her actions. Her warm lips on the tip of his cold nose made his face heat up. Oh goodness, what was happening? He wasn't falling right?
Right!?
He only let out a soft chuckle of unbelief when she squirmed through the crowd of students. Kicking up his bag, he followed her, shoving past everyone easily. "Harmony?" he called out before spotting her. Stepping off of the big bus, he ruffled her hair. "I'll get your bags. It's fine" he laughed a small bit before going to the back of the bus, ready to carry her bags to her cabin.
The petite girl jumped a bit when he spoke. Somehow she had spaced, and missed him. "Cass!" She called out, squeezing her way around the group of kids going to get their things. Coming up to his side, she took his hand in her own so she wouldn't loose him again. Her blue eyes trailed up to his face, and she gave him a sweet and tender smile.
"I said you didn't have to." Harmony mumbled bumping into him when another student pushed pass her. She squeaked, stumbling a bit before catching her balance. "I'm so sorry!" She apologized quickly, seeming to be frantic now. "I didn't mean to, are you OK?" Of course, there wasn't much damage she could do to him. She was acting as if she were double the size of him, and had broken his leg. A little ridiculous to say the least.
He only laughed a bit at her clumsiness with a playful smile. He let go of her hand and picked her up (bridal style or whatever you call it) and smiled. "there, no more stumbling" he says dropping his bag purposely. "I'll get that later, along with your luggage. Now show me which way your cabin is because I forgot and I don't want to get in trouble my the professor for PDA" he laughed.
In surprise, she slinked her arms around his neck for support. "I…" Befuddled, she looked into his eyes with a slightly pink face. Her heart skipped a beat, and she wasn't sure how to respond. All words had completely left her, with her rising flush.
"That…that way." Harmony responded, pointing off towards one of the cabins. A small emotion swirled inside of her, the longer she looked into his eyes. Her soft heart was starting to beat quicker, and she knew exactly why. 'I have a crush on him…' She admitted to herself, blinking out of the state she was in. "It's over there." She said again, more sure sounding this time.
