The streets were buzzing with people on the Saturday morning in the city. Cars were chugging by, and groups of people were walking along the side streets, in attempt to get to the places they needed to be. Children were in candy stores, or pushing past the adults to get to the park nearby. It was the perfect morning.

At least to Axel Materix. Axel had slicked back, bleach blonde that didn't seem to be staying in place as he bounded down the streets through the traffic. He was in a rush to get to nowhere, with a grin on his face. No one needed him today, and most days no one wanted him. They all said he was a bad influence, mostly because he was rumored to have a tattoo. Which he did, but that didn't determine a man's, or even a woman's, personality and respect. So why people assumed he was a bad boy, he had no clue.

Axel was running now, getting yelled at by different people, young and old. He couldn't care less, he was in a happy place. So with a large grin, he came up to 'Pattie's Diner', and threw the small door open.

Janet, with two other friends, were just leaving 'Pattie's Diner' after getting a snack and hanging out on this great day. She had her head turned, talking to her friend, Linda, who was slightly behind her. She just happened to hear the ring of the door as she collided with a young man going into the diner. She fell back onto the floor, not too far away from the man.

She blinked, getting ahold of herself after the collision. Janet looked over to the man, her eyes widening, realizing exactly what just happened. "Oh my goodness! Are you okay, sir?" She asked in her naturally quiet voice, but full of concern.

His smile didn't drop, as he stood up. With a laugh, he brushed himself off and held out a hand to the female. "Yes ma'am, I'm quite alright. Sorry about that. Are you alright?" He asked her, brushing his loose hair's back from his face. "I didn't hurt you, right ma'am?" He hummed, his white teeth showing in his smile.

Janet could help herself but smile. The man's smile was contagious. Quickly she wiggled her toes, legs, and body to make sure nothing hurt, and nothing did. She reached out her hand, taking the male's hand. "Th-thank you. Yes, I am okay, I'm not hurt." She responded very shyly. A rosy shade of pink rose to her cheeks and forehead.

Axel laughed once more, seeing her pink face. It was a rather pretty face, if he was being honest. It was a face he was sure he would remember. "Once again, I'm sorry miss." He chirped, bringing the back of her hand up to his lips. Pressing a gentle kiss to it, he lifted his head with a steady smile. "But if I were to run into anyone, I'm glad it was a lady as pretty as you."

Janet moved her gaze to the floor, her poor little shy heart imploding. Her face grew into a more reddish color, but the corners of her lips were pointed up with a smile. In instances like this, which didn't happen often, or ever, she never knew what to do with herself. "T-thanks… um, you too– except not… pretty, you know?" She said, looking up to the male a little.

Chuckling, he let go of her hand, and stuffed his hands in his pockets. "I know what you mean," He smiled, winking slightly. "The name's Axel, what would this pretty lady's name be, hmm?" He asked her, jutting his chin out, his smile still there. It was more tame than before, calm and composed. Like Axel himself.

Janet retracted her hand, grabbing her other hand in front of her skirt. She, whit much effort, looked up all the way to Axel, smiling. "Er, Janet… Moore, it's really nice to meet you, Axel." She said, trying to be louder since the diner was a bit noisy. Her friends were still standing behind her, trying not to get in the way of what could be their friend's first interaction with a boy.

Axel nodded, glancing up at the wall clock. "That's a beautiful name, for a beautiful girl." Taking in the time, he turned his gaze upon her once more. "Were you leaving so soon? I could always buy you a shake to make up for bumping into you." He offered, pulling out his wallet. Leafing through the bills, he nodded at the amount of cash he had, but then he caught sight of the other girls. "Oh, unless you need to leave, I completely understand."

Janet opened her mouth to say something, then closed it shyly and looked back at her friends. "We were only leaving because I have a prior arrangement and I needed to get going, but that's not stopping you." Explained Linda to Janet.
"And I wouldn't want to be a third wheel, you know how much I need my attention. Plus he's so dreamy, I think you have a chance with him!" Said her other friend, Maria, with a giggle. "We don't mind, you go with this new boy of yours and just call us later, okay, love?" She said smiling as the two other girls left, Linda winking on the way out. Janet turned pink again, but smiled. She looked back to Axel.
"Um, I guess the girls are busy, but, uh, I'm not so… I would love that." She said, looking up at him.

It was clear he was happy she could stay. Reaching out to take her hand, he spoke softly but clearly.
"It's too bad your friends can't stay, but I mean, it's all worth it in the end right?" He hummed, before leading her over to a booth. Once she had slid in the seat, he slid in on the opposite side so he could face her.
"What kind of shake do you want? You can get anyone you want, and it's yours." He told her, brushing his hair back, once more, with the tender and polite smile he had.
Sitting there, he admired her features. Darker skin than his own, and dark hair. They were both rich colors, and he loved her tone a lot. Her eyes were stunning, and her figure was a nice one. There was no denying she was a pretty lady.

Janet nodded at the man's words. But she knew her friends wanted it to just be Janet and Axel there, without the other girls. They loved getting Janet to meet new people, especially boys. She smiled at him as she thought about the flavors. "Are you gonna get anything?" She asked softly, "I can't decide." Pattie's Diner had the best milkshakes in town, and everyone knew that. It was their signature food.

Axel watched her speak, and stared at her lips. As she asked him her question, his gaze flicked back up to her eyes. "Might later, but I'm not quite ready for anything this morning." He hummed, leaning on his palm with a slight smile. "If you can't decide, I can just owe you for another time if you'd like. I can give you my phone-number too." He told her, leaning forward just slightly.

Janet's smile grew. The more she talked with this man the more she wanted to get to know him and hang out with him. "I actually decided… but, um, it would be nice to have your phone number." She said a little louder than previously. "Butterscotch sounds really good. But could we get it then leave? It's really loud here and would kinda rather a less populated area."

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

Axel nodded with his polite smile. "Works for me." He told her, relaxing a bit. "Butterscotch? Sounds good."
With that, he stood from his place, holding a hand out to her. "Now, little lady, we shall go get you your shake." He told her, still standing there. "I'll get a piece of paper, and write my phone number. You can call me anytime." He told her, leading them up to the counter.

Janet took Axel's hand and went with him to the counter, smiling. This was the most she had interacted or talked with anyone besides her friends and family and it was, honestly, nice to meet new people. It was just difficult for her to do so on her own.
"Hello! Welcome to Pattie's Diner, what can we get for you two?" Asked the lady behind the counter in a cheery voice and a big smile. Janet looked over to Axel, then back to the lady.
"Um… could I please get a… a medium butterscotch shake?" She said in almost a whisper.
"I'm sorry, what was that?" THe lady asked, leaning forward to hear Janet a little better.

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

Axel put an arm around her shoulder, in a friendly manner. He spoke in a soft tone, and leaned closer to her.
"I can order for you, don't stress about it." He told her, squeezing her shoulder lightly before pulling away from her and smiling brightly. "One butterscotch shake, medium." He told her, pulling his wallet from his pocket. "How much?" Axel hummed in a questioning tone, and pulled out a small wad of cash.

Janet smiled at Axel in thanks, staying close to his side. She always hated ordering anywhere, it always made her super nervous and she routinely messed up her orders.
"One medium shake… butterscotch…" Whispered the lady to herself. "That'll be $0.50, sir!" She said looking up at the man. The lady yelled to the back to start the shake.

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

He pulled a dollar up, and rested it on the counter. "Thank you ma'am, have a good day." He nodded, and began to lead Janet away and over to a table. "Keep the change, see you later miss." He smiled at the nice lady before turning back to Janet.
"Do you have a pen?" He asked her, rather randomly as he pulled up a napkin. He smoothed out the napkin, and lifted his gaze to meet Janet's. His smile had faded, but quickly was back up.

The lady smiled and took the cash, putting it in the register before taking the next costumer's order. Janet was quiet for a few seconds thinking if the had a pen. "No.. I don't think so, sorry." She said softly. Glancing around the room, she saw a pen that someone must have left on a table. A waitress was heading to clean the table. Janet quickly went over to the table and grabbed the pen, quickly so she wouldn't have to interact with the waitress. She smiled up at Axel and handed him the pen.

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

Axel watched her get up, and dash over to the empty table. He was rather confused, as the girl grabbed something. As she came back, the pen was held out to him, and he hesitated before realizing what she had done.
"Oh! Thank you!" He smiled, taking the pen from her hand and knocking the lid off. He set it aside, and begin to write on the brown paper napkin. The ink wasn't coming, so he sat there struggling to write out something she could read.

Deleted user

"You're welcome!" She said happily. Janet watched Axel write on the napkin, giggling a little to herself as he struggled with the ink. She was curious as to what he was writing, but she decided not to ask since she would probably see it.
Her order was called out, making Janet jump ever so slightly. She glanced at Axel then got up. This was easy enough for her to do, no need to talk. She walked over to the counter and grabbed the milkshake, a smile on her face to hopefully not appear rude because of not thanking or anything. Standing where she was, she took a sip of the milkshake, a little breath escaping her mouth. She absolutely loved the milkshakes at the diner. A moment later, she made her way back to where Axel was.

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

Scribbling a little bit near the end, he lifted his gaze to give Janet a smile. But she wasn't sitting there anymore. Blinking a few times, he turned his head this way and that trying to find her. With that, he found her coming up to him.
Something about the way she was walking, made his face warm. She was just… walking, and he couldn't help himself from blushing. Which was odd for him, as he didn't blush. Almost ever that is. So he tipped his head back down to the writing on the napkin, biting his lower lip. The napkin had scrawled writing, with his name and phone number on it. He felt embarrassed to give it to her, but he didn't have any other paper to write on. So he sucked in a deep breath, calming himself down.

Janet happily sat down, taking another sip of her milkshake. Reacting almost the same way as before, it was just so good. She set it down in the table and looked at Axel. "Are you ready to go?" She asked with a soft smile. Her favorite thing to do was get a milkshake or snack here then go almost anywhere else, eat and hang out. It was always more peaceful and she usually felt more confident when she wasn't around a lot of people.

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

Nodding softly, he slid out of his seat. "As long as you are." He told her, smiling. His lip slipped through his teeth as he smiled at her. Reaching a hand out to her, he pocketed both the pen and the napkin. He'd give it to her later, but for now he would keep it as long as he could. He wasn't sure why it bothered him so much, but the simpleness of it, really did. She was too… perfect for a simple napkin. He felt rather foolish, though again, wasn't sure why.

Almost out of habit already, Janet grabbed his hand with one and her milkshake with another. "I definitely am. I have a place in mind if you don't already." She said, looking up at Axel, smiling. This man was so kind and sweet, somehow he didn't make her nervous like she normally was around people she didn't know well.

@Rainy_day_artist_classic group

His gaze immediately went down to their hands. His face grew slightly warmer, and he shook his head.
"I have nowhere in mind." He practically whispered, trying to avoid looking at her eyes. He was feeling an odd feeling grow in the pit of his stomach, and it wouldn't just go away. "So you can lead, I'll follow." He smiled softly at her.
Something had over taken him, and it was growing quicker the longer he stood there. 'Pull yourself together.' Axel scolded himself.
