"Thanks," He said, laughing lightly and taking the ball after setting the box on the bed next to him, "This is probably my favorite thing. It's one of the foul balls from a MLB game, plus I somehow managed to get it signed by some of the players." The ball definitely didn't look straight from a major league game though, obviously having a second life as a regular baseball when he was growing up. "I'm not super big into baseball anymore, but it's still one of my favorite things I own."
"That's so cool!" Rowan responded looking at the ball. She had expected something along those lines, but it was still pretty cool. She didn't own anything like that, then again she wasn't the biggest fan of sports either so it made sense. Her eyes wandered back into the box, but it was probably fine if she didn't continue, "Any items in here you want to show me?"
Soren thought for a minute and then smiled, "Do you want to see a cool trick?" Most people wouldn't guess that he knew any sort of tricks, but that's exactly why he had taught himself some, to show people that he was more interesting than he sometimes looked.
Rowan nodded quickly. She hadn't been expecting him to know any tricks, but she was interested in what he could do. Any trick would probably impress Rowan since she really couldn't do much of anything, "I would love to!"
"Ok," He said, nodding and hopping up. Soren made his way over to his desk, pulling out a deck of cards before walking back over to Rowan and smiling, "Alright, I'm going to do this trick first, but before that, do you want to check the deck to make sure its a normal deck?" He held out the cards to her, excited to have someone to show his trick to.
Rowan nodded and took the cards from him. He looked so excited and she was too if she was honest. She quickly thumbed through the deck her eyes checking every card before handing it back to Soren. She gave him a smile and signed once he took the card, "It looks like a normal deck to me. Show me the trick!"
(This is the trick he's preforming (Also sorry about the whole video instead of a link, I couldn't get it to work))
"Now, you know the deck is real." He started, shuffling the cards and trying to look professional even with his excited smile, "So, like any good card trick, pick a card, any card, and memorize it. Don't show it to me though, just put it back into the deck with the others."
Rowan nodded and paused before she picked a card. She looked down to find she had picked the Ace of Hearts and then slid the card back into the deck once she was done. She gave him a bright smile and resisted the urge to bounce up and down like a child as she waited for him to reveal the next great step.
He smiled and shuffled the deck once her card was back in, looking up at her once he had finished and continuing with the next step. "With just a snap of my fingers, I can make your card appear at the top of the deck, ready?" He snapped his fingers and flipped the top card, showing it to her, "Is this your card? The ten of diamonds?"
Rowan shook her head grinning though her smile faltered a little. Maybe he messed up or was he miss leading her? She didn't know, but she hoped it was the latter. Her hands signed at him, "Nope! That wasn't it."
"Hmmm..alright then, we'll just toss this onto the floor and get back to it later," Soren said, smiling and letting the card drop to the ground by his feet. He flipped over the next card and looked at her again, "How about this one?"
Rowan shook her head again though was a little confused by his actions. She figured that this was part of the trick and her smile grew again, "Not it either."
He pretended to look confused for a minute, then let his smile reappear, "Hmm..well, with just a wave of my hand if you believe, I can turn this card..into the ten again." He waved his free hand over the card for a moment and it was replaced by the ten of diamonds once again. "Well, if this is here…" He pointed to the ten in his hand and looked up at her with his excited smile, "Then I guess we have to see what card this is."
Rowan looked at the card in his hand and then at the card on the floor that hadn't moved. She did this a few times in slight disbelief. She hadn't actually seen anyone try a magic trick like this before so it was interesting to her, "Nooooooo, it can't be."
Soren scooped the card up and smiled, though didn't show it to her right away. "Is this your card?" He asked, turning the card slowly for her to see it was the Ace of Hearts. He smiled and looked for her answer, silent hoping that she was impressed or at least had liked the trick.
Rowan watched him in awe as he showed her the card. She nodded slowly impressed with the trick and now trying to figure out how it happened, "Magic. But yes, that's my card"

(Lucky you guys get a good rp i never het a good one :/ )
He jokingly bowed and set the deck of cards on his desk again before resuming his spot sitting next to Rowan. "Well, what do you want to do now? Not much can top that superb magic trick I bet." He said with a joking grin as he looked around and tried to figure out what they could do. He figured a movie could be a good option, or going a less technology filled route, they could play cards, or just talk.
Rowan thought for a moment. She hadn’t thought this far and that was fine. Both of them were just going with the flow of the conversation and she looked to the deck of cards before signing to him, ”Why don’t we play cards? I know a few games the two of us could play.”
(How do we want to reveal the whole magic thing? And when?)
(I'm thinking that he forgets about hiding it for a minute and makes an item come to him (The deck of cards) or turns on a light without being over by it, something small. And as for time, probably soon)
Soren nodded and motioned around, "Would you rather play in here of should we go to the couch?" He didn't know many card games but was willing to learn if she would teach him.
(Also sry it's short)
"Either works for me," Rowan responded to him quickly. She wanted him to be comfortable since she was technically invading his home, "Whatever you feel comfortable with okay?"
"Maybe the couch," He decided, figuring it would be easier and overall less awkward since this was only the first official date they had been on together. For a moment, Soren forgot all about hiding his magic and after flicking his hand out towards the deck and saying something quietly, it appeared in his hand. As soon as he finished what he did though, he was fully aware of what happened and his face paled slightly as he glanced at Rowan. There was no way she hadn't noticed, now just to see her reaction.
Rowan nodded to his answer about the couch. Then he summoned the deck of cards into his hand. He summoned the deck of cards into his hand. Her eyes grew wide at the action and her mouth fell slightly agape as she processed what happened. He had magic. Actual magic, not like the trick he showed her earlier. She tried to sign to him failing to form a coherent sentence the first few times. The words she finally managed to sign out were: "Magic. You. What? How? Real? Cool. So very cool. Magic boy. New name."
For the first few seconds, Soren couldn't piece together a sentence either, opening his mouth to start a few times before the words came piling out. "Sorry. I'll explain everything. Please don't be scared. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do that." He seemed much more worried than she did, nervously messing with the cards and being surprised with himself as he found himself smiling at her last few sentences. "Should..should we go to the couch?" He asked, already trying to plan out how to explain everything to her.
Rowan nodded holding her hands together to keep them from shaking. She wasn't very scared, but to say she was scared wouldn't be a lie either. She may only have known him for a day, but he was trustworthy in her eyes. He had given her no reason to not trust her, so she wouldn't worry about him hurting her. Even if he had magic. Especially since he had magic. She gave him a slight smile before eventually signing, "Not scared. Well, a little. But fine. I trust you, Magic boy."
He gave a slow nod and tried to keep from apologizing too much as he walked out to the couch and sat down, already trying to explain everything. Soren set the deck of cards down on the coffee table in front of the couch, waiting for Rowan before beginning. "Do you still want to play cards?" He asked, a tiny smile hinting at his lips.
Rowan followed him out and thought about sitting down next to him. After some moment of debating, she sat down on the floor across from Soren. She looked to Soren and gave him a slight smile, it was hard not to smile back. She nodded to him as she signed, "Yeah. What games do you know?"
"You can sit up here, I can move." He said before anything, clearly not a huge fan of her sitting on the ground as he stood up and left the couch open for her. Another gentle smile from him and he started shuffling the cards absentmindedly while he thought about what games he knew and shrugged, "To be honest, it's been a while since I've played any card game and I'm having a brain fart on what game I remember the rules for."
Rowan stood up from where she had been sitting on the ground to sit on the couch. Soren was such a nice guy and she wondered why she had been scared in the first place. Magic, yeah that's why. She thought for a moment shuffling through the different card games she knew before deciding on one, "How about War? The rules are simple and we won't have to go through much. If you don't know the rules already."
He nodded and after taking a seat where she was just sitting, started to deal out the cards, "Sure…do you still want me to explain the..magic thing?" Dealing out the cards didn't take too long, but he stayed quiet the whole time, now constant watching over his magic. War wasn't a hard game, and he was sure he knew the rules.
