Steve put the stack of books he was carrying next to his sketchbook, sighing. "I'm going to make some tea," He decided, hoping that might settle his frayed nerves, "D'you want some?"

Some nice tea will help, He tried reassuring himself, willing his hands not to shake as he brought the teapot out of the cupboard and turned the kettle on. Some nice, calming, pacifying tea. Soon the water was coming to a simmer and Steve placed two mugs on the counter, bringing them down with more force than necessary.

Bucky looked up when he heard the mugs thump down, raising an eyebrow. "No need to break the mugs, Steve. They didn't hurt anybody." he said with a faint glint of humor in his voice.

"I–" Steve tried, smiling despite his worrying thoughts as he shook his head. "I'm just…" He chuckled, looking down, "I'm just overthinking, you know me."

"But…it'll be alright," Steve said, trying to reassure himself as he prepared the tea, pouring the steaming water into a sleek teapot and watching as the tea steeped. "It's just…one thing after another," He murmured.

Steve looked up from the tea, meeting Bucky with a tired expression. "You aren't causing this," He said with a weak smile, "HYDRA started this, and now we're…ending it, in terms of publicity."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Bucky shrugged a little bit. "Well…if I hadn't fallen off of that train, none of this would have happened." he replied, sitting down at the counter.

"But they took you," Steve said, checking in with himself to see if his hands were stable enough before he poured the tea into two of the mugs. He keeps trying to blame it on himself, Steve realized. "They were the ones who hurt you, and…made you hurt other people. They did this."

@ElderGod-Icefire

"But it would never have happened if I hadn't fallen off that train." Bucky replied, picking up a mug when Steve was done, holding it carefully in his flesh hand.

"So you're blaming yourself for falling off a train?" Steve asked, his voice heavy with sarcasm. He leaned over the counter, warming his hand on the steaming mug of tea. "–Rather than the subversive group of nazi's bent on world domination, which started as a cult?"

@ElderGod-Icefire

He shrugged his shoulders, blowing on the tea. "Well…I'm the one that fell." he replied with another shrug, taking a tiny sip of the tea, trying to test if it was done.

Steve let out an exaggerated sigh, tilting his head back in a quiet groan. "Bucky," He said, raising his eyebrows, "You aren't responsible for what happened to you, can't you see that?"

Deleted user

"Well if you don't know…I'll tell you," Steve said with the faintest smile curving at his lips, sighing at the sight of Bucky's blue eyes, "Everything you did…you didn't want to do. They did. I think we both know that, at least."

"It's okay," Steve said with a little nod. "I know that you're trying to make sense of all this…and I think talking it out– with me, is good." He said with a faint smile, letting his hand touch Bucky's, in reassurance.

Steve nodded back, trying to keep up the walls of his confidence to hide his worry. He took a sip of his tea, which smelled sweet and was warm on his tongue. "I was thinkin' about staying in for a bit," He said, "Maybe do some drawing, read a little."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Bucky nodded slightly. "Alright." he replied slowly, looking over at Steve. He took a sip of his own tea, thinking. He wasn't quite sure what else to say.

"You're…welcome to join me, if you like," Steve shrugged, glancing at his short stack of books, I need to stop thinking about the 'party.' "I don't think you've ever done origami before," He said with a smile.

Deleted user

"It's not that hard, you'll see." Steve smiled, "We used to throw paper airplanes around all the time when we were kids. 'Used to have little competitions to see who's could go the farthest."

@ElderGod-Icefire

(I gtg soon. Sorry!)

He nodded a little bit. "Hm. Alright." he replied. He was a bit worried that he would end up accidentally crushing the origami with his metal hand.

(it's cool!! gn!! happy spring break~?)

"Great," Steve chimed, taking a sip of tea and surveying the open room as he reached for the neat stack of origami paper, "Where do you think we should try it? Probably somewhere with a flat surface."

@ElderGod-Icefire

(Good night! ehh sadly no. I'm homeschooled, so I don't get a spring break :( )

Bucky shrugged, taking a sip of his own tea as well, looking around. "I don't know. Wherever, I guess?"

Deleted user

(mhh thats…oof?~ do you like bein homeschooled? )

"Hm, we could sit on the living room floor," Steve suggested, supposing that the soft carpet might be more comfortable than the dining table chairs.
