The four of them would end up in a grassy meadow. Cress opened her eyes, and then closed them immediately, wincing as the bright sun burned her eyes. She groaned and put a hand over her eyes, wincing, and sat up. She dared to open her eyes again, now that she wasn't staring directly at the sun, and saw three others laying on the ground.
Standing on shaky legs, she winced as the blood all flow from her head, and almost fell over. She swayed, before setting her arms out, to hold her balance.
Sid groaned, covering his eyes with his hands in an attempt to block the sun. He sat up, the blood running from his nose thankfully having dried up. As he removed his hands, Sid hissed at the sharp sunlight, and blinked furiously in an attempt to adjust to it. His head swung around to see the meadow. Sid’s face blanched.
“Where am I? Who are you people?” He staggered to his feet, stumbling but catching his balance. His eyes darted from the scenery to the people around him.
Manan hurried to get up, breathing quickly. He rubbed his eyes, letting them adapt to the sun. Blinking at the sight around him, he tried to wrap his head around it. Hadn't he just been on the street? Why was he in a meadow now and who exactly were these people with him? He didn't recognize any of them.
"What is this? What's happening?" He watched the others warily as he tried to stand up. His attempt failed, ending with him tripping and landing on the ground. Sighing, he clutched his hair in frustration and sat cross-legged in the grass.
Opening his eyes, he let out a quiet growl from his throat as he looked around. Really? More people? "You've got to be kidding me" he says, cursing in Korean afterwards. He laid back down and looked up at the bright sky. "five more minutes" he says, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath.
"Please please please let this be a dream… "
"It's not a dream, boy," Cress said to the pale boy. "Otherwise, this would be a very shitty dream, and I really don't want to be here."
“Yeah, man, you can’t really feel dreams.” Sid groaned, running his hands over the dried blood on his lip. “Anybody got a clue where we’re at? This heaven or some shit?”
He sat up and blew his Raven black wave of hair out if his face and out of the way of his mirror like eyes.
"no… I would be in hell if anything" he says not joking one bit. He even looked annoyed.
"anyone know why I'm here?" he raised a dark brow
"Well I did experience something before I ended up here," Manan admitted, relaxing more as he realized they were all as confused as he was. "Everything just… stopped. Cars, people, nothing was moving. Then I felt pain and found myself here, I guess? I don't know; it's a little fuzzy near the end still. Did… any of you have something like that happen?"
"well you're no help" he crossed his arms, fluffing up the hoodie over his fluffy mess of hair and closed his eyes thinking. He never minded being rude to anyone.
Unless they were crying. He hated it when people cry. He had a small weak spot that he would never tell.
"I'm guessing everyone else had the same experience… " he opened one eye calmly then sighed. Gesturing that, yes, he did in fact experience the same thing.
Sid nodded simply. “Yea. Felt like I was bein’ stabbed.” He sat back in the grass. “Basically, I’m leavin’ my place, right? Got this stupid fuckin’ bloody nose, so I’m kinda distracted as I go through the streets. Stop in an alley, look up, nobody and nothin’s movin’. Get that weird pain ‘n collapse, next thing I know I’m here.” He recounted, patting his buzzed hair down. “I guess we all went through it?”
“Maybe not that exact way, but yeah” he joked, ripping a blade of grass apart with his pale fingers then letting it fall down to the soil.
He stood up and focused his eyes on the tree line. What just happened? Is this an afterlife or something? It was possible. Did he die falling out of that tree? Man, what a lame way to die. He was hoping he’d go down with a fight. But natures beat him once again.
“Well… I’m guessing we’re stuck here. Might as well explore” he shrugged, heading off towards the trees, waving his hand. Gesturing that if anyone wanted to come with him they could.
Did he have any idea where the hell he was going? Nope. Not at all. There could be a frikin dragon in there for all he cared. But he swore he wasnt going to just sit around and socialize in the grass like little girls at a tea party in puffy white and pink dresses.
Cress sighed, having regained her sense of balance. "Either we're dead, or something is up," she said, sounding annoyed. "And if this isn't a dream, where the fuck are we? I wouldn't explore, ifI were you, until we know exactly where we are. It could be dangerous."
“Well hey, i have more of a chance dying this way. Anyway, if you know so much, why dont you tell us what to do” he says turning around with a resting glare in his eyes and his hands in the pockets of his hoodie.
“Chill the fuck out, man. She’s right.” Sid frowned, running his hand down his face. “Don’t get so defensive. Gal’s just tryna make sure you don’t kill yourself walkin’ in the woods.” Sid’s sunken eyes were sharp, almost warning. “Take a breath and relax. We need everybody here so we can come up with a plan.”
“I’ll do what I want” he rolled his grey eyes. He wasn’t threatened in the least bit by this random punk, and he showed it too.
He was already plenty relaxed, and he didn’t appreciate this kid telling him what to do. If he really really wanted to, he would have gone anyway. But if they insisted, he might as well stay. He had nothing better to do.
"Yeah, yeah," Cress said, scowling, waving her hand dismissively at the moody guy. "You're an emo, supposedly super cool kid, and can't be bothered to stay safe, because you're too cool for rules. I've dealed with your kind before, you little shit, so shut up." She turned to the guy who had defended her. "And thanks." She glanced around. "We should probably figure out where we are, though. That much, I agree on."
"okay that was a little uncalled for" he mumbled under his breath. He already hated all if these people. Why could he be with his best friend and his sister. That's where he felt safe and comfortable. If he had to stay here with these people it might as well be hell.
(also, is everyone going to hate him automatically? Like that's their role or what? Because like there's the leader who gets along with everyone but hates the rogue and the warrior who protects the healer. Just wondering..)
(though Im not complaining by any means. This is going to be fun no matter what <3)
(and I'm sorry that he's a butthead)
(They can hate him if they want to. The mage-rogue hatred and the warrior-healer friendship is really the only definitive thing.)
(Okay lol. I have a feeling they’re gonna hate him anyway XD)
(Shoulda put in a ore likable character aha)
(Yikes,,,,,, it’s fine, I can try to make this work! 0~o)
Manan stood up, wiping leftover grass off of his pants. He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. Out of everyone he could have gotten stuck with, why did it have to be these people? They've been here for less than an hour now and are already arguing.
"Okay," he said in a bright tone. "So, if we aren't going to explore, we still need to figure out a few things. One, if there is are others around in a city or something. Two, where we are going to stay once it gets dark; we can't stay here forever. Eventually, we'll have to move for food or shelter. Three, if there is any way to get back."
He pondered it all a bit more, trying to find a plausible solution. "Perhaps… is there any way we could send up a signal?"
“Nah, nah, I agree with- uh..?” Sid looked Manan up and down, gesturing vaguely to him. “This guy. Dunno his name. It wouldn’t kill us to try and find somewhere safe for the night, even if it’s not a town or whatever. We can Survivor this shit’n make some weird-ass hut if we gotta.”
Sid’s ears perked up at Manan’s question. “Like a fire? I got a couple lighters in my pocket if we need ‘em.”
He raised an eyebrow at the stupidity. "well if we're gonna light a fire, obviously we'll need lighters" he glared.
(my characters for if anyone needs to get mad or anything, he's the one to go to and he'll piss them off)
Sid rolled his eyes at the comment. “Obviously, Einstein. I’m not a moron. I know how to light a fire.” He snapped sharply. “If you ain’t gonna help us survive out here, get fuckin’ lost.”
"Oh, I'm Manan," he said absentmindedly, running a hand through his hair. "We might need to move somewhere else if we're lighting a fire though, since we're in a meadow after all."
"That's probably the best idea," Cress agreed. "And one of us should probably climb a tree. To see if there's any place we could stay the night." She shrugged. "And I go by Cress."
“The name’s Sid. And yea, I agree with both’a y’all. I can try to get up the trees, if you want.” Sid sniffed, still working on rubbing the dried blood off of his nose and face. “What kinda place are we lookin’ for? For the fire, I mean. Somewhere rocky- if that’s even here?”
"Or at least somewhere with no plants or anything." Cressida shrugged. "I don't want to have to dig a hole just to maybe start a fire, or at least try. It will just be wasting strength we might need later. "
