She snickered a little and curled up in his lap.
She snickered a little and curled up in his lap.
He smiled down at her, holding her.
She smiled back at him. ”I wonder if this is what feeling normal is like.” she sighed.
He smiled a little bit. "Maybe so."
”It’s nice.” she smiled.
He nodded. "Yeah. It…it is."
”If it weren't for what I promised Mark… I could get used to this.” she sighed, hugging him.
"Wait, who?" he asked, frowning a little.
”Hm?” she looked up at him. ”Oh. Don't worry, Mark was my cousin.” she explained, frowning at the memory.
"Oh." he replied slowly. He didn't miss the "was", but didn't comment.
She sighed. ”He was shot when we were younger and died in front of me. The gunman was pointing at me.” she told him.
He sighed softly. "Oh. I'm…I'm sorry, Jade."
”It’s not your fault. And he kept saying it wasn't mine either.” she sighed. ”He was the only one in my family who knew I was hiding my ability.”
(gtg soon)
He nodded a little bit. "Alright. I just…I'm sorry that happened."
(Ok)
She closed her eyes and took a steadying breath. She didn't need him to see her have another meltdown.
He kissed her forehead softly.
She moaned softly at the touch. ”I’m sorry. I didn't mean to bring him up.” she apologized. ”For some reason, you're just way too easy to talk to.”
"It's alright." he replied softly. "I'm not upset."
She nodded. ”Ok. Thank you.”
"You're welcome." he gave her a gentle smile.
She smiled back and kissed his cheek.
He kissed her cheek in return.
She smiled softly and tried to relax again.
He smiled again , holding her gently.
She sighed and nuzzled into the embrace.
He held her.
Her phone started ringing causing Jade to make a small sound of annoyance. ”It’s probably Sophie.”
He sighed. "Mm. Answer it, then."
She nodded and fished her phone out of her pocket before answering the call. ”Hey, Soph.”
”Hey…” Sophie almost sang. ”Sleep well?”
Killian was quiet.
