Character: Evan Meric Dimon Invalid Character
Prompt: “You’re famous and I jokingly left a comment on your social media post asking if you’ll go egg my ex-partner’s house with me this weekend, and I never actually expected you to respond, let alone show up Friday night with dark sweatshirts, toilet paper rolls, and three egg cartons tucked under your arm”
(I have a character sheet thing or you can just send a link! Anyone want to join?)
(YES!! I don’t have a character for this but I’ll adapt one of mine)
(On second thought pardon me while I speed-create an OC.)
So then. How shall we start?
Okay maybe you're reading through youtube comments and see what I said jokingly in reply to someone else, and are like 'HEY that sounds like fun!' and through a lot of basically stalker research find his address and go over the next night with all the stuff. Then. Chaos ensues.
Sounds great. Should I start or do you want to?
It was late, really late, but it was the only time River had to himself this week. He had his computer up on YouTube, headphones plugged in, the charismatic vlogger talking in his ears as he scrolled though the comments. One in particular caught his eye, some comment about an ex, one that the YouTuber had responded to.
LOL, I’m planning on egging my ex’s tomorrow night, don’t tell anyone.
Or something like that. It did sound like fun though.
Without really thinking, he opened a new tab and typed “Evan Dimon past partners“ into the search bar.
Thirty (pretty stalky-feeling) minutes later, he had a plan.
Evan smiled as the popular actor responded to his small joke. It made him feel good, connections this way, even if it was small. He then realized it was 10:30 at night and he had a busy day the next morning. He put his phone on the charger and headed to bed, all snuggled up.
River laid in bed, unable to sleep. His agent would kill him if he knew how late it was. His makeup artist will definitely figure it out in the morning, but she probably won’t say anything.
He didn’t realize he’d fallen asleep until his alarm rang.
Evan woke up the next day,and got dressed, and headed off to the small acting studio he was acting for. He knew he was made for greater talents but, this place was a start.
River groaned, reaching over to turn off the alarm clock. He hit the clock, but missed the button, instead knocking it to the floor where it continued to beep.
Muttering obscenities, he got out of bed and picked it up.
His door opened.
“You know, if the public knew about that mouth…” his agent trailed off, an eyebrow raised suggestively.
“Shut the f*ck up, Brian.”
“I suggest you get a nicer vocabulary and put some clothes on. We’re filming until seven.”
“Ugh.”
Evan sighed and headed out the door. He didn't bother paying much attention to anything other than getting where he had to go. The day was already busy enough.
It was a lie. “We” were not filming until 7. Brian wasn’t an actor at all, and River wondered why his “we” seemed to usually just mean “River”. But River was also not being recorded at the moment, which would have been fine, except there was a crowd of extras also not being filmed. At this point he could have easily signed his name with his eyes closed. His cheeks hurt from grinning. Fame was not fun.
Evan was carefree as he biked along to the small theatrical place, and instantly headed to his changing room. He was going to play Phantom from Phantom of the Opera, and was super excited as always to get into character. Though his love for the stage had lasted him a long time. (I've never seen it but I know the basic storyline.
(I love Phantom!)
Finally, River got called to play in a scene.
It was a romantic one, the classic hero-finally-gets-some-alone-time-with-his-female-companion-and-they-confess-their-undying-love. It was supposed to be emotional and dramatic. He thought it was cheesy. But his character didn’t, (plus his character was straight. But no one else knew he wasn’t.) so he let himself get into it.
Evan didn't mind playing a straight character. Everyone knew he was gay I mean how did one not? He always wore makeup and had a gay pride flag tattooed on his shoulder, edged in gold. He was a golden gay, never kisses a girl. Well besides the theater but he didn't count that.
River leaned in for the kiss.
It was uncomfortable.
Evan on the other hand was belting his lungs out,not suffering, and having the time of his life. He loved theater more than anything in the world. That night they were going to be doing runs and practicing until about 8:30. It's about at 6:00 at night he realizes his apartment has been unlocked. All. Day. "Fuck…hope they like Brendon Urie and yaoi…" He said softly as he redid his makeup in his changing room.
It took 17 takes to get a satisfactory one.
The director, mercifully, decided they’d spend the rest of the day on combat. River loved the choreography, like dancing but dangerous, and he got to yell overdramatically at the villain. It was good.
With fake dirt covering his face, a broken sword in his hand, putting his entire heart into the lines, he was glad he was here.
Evan was now in the romantic scene. He was tired and so at this point he was going through the motions. Only 2 hours and a half more till he had to go home. He just tried to keep a smile on his face and be passionate. Which at the end he never was good at.
“And scene. That was good, great, everyone get out, I’ve got a team of editors that have to make a movie out of all this. Back here at 7am.”
River let out a sigh. He was tired, hungry and sore. As he was left alone in his room to “SLEEP, River.” he remembered that his day wasn’t over yet. There was that guy’s ex’s house. He wondered if he’d had been serious about going to egg it. Well, he wasn’t going to back out of a fun time because of anxiety, at least not his time, so he quickly changed into the most average black hoodie and jeans he could find. Just in case Brian has stuck around, he snuck out through the window, jumping down several stories with the grace of someone who’d done it a hundred times.
He was on his way to purchase some eggs.
Evan meanwhile was let go early and biked home, singing a bit as he raced back home. He loved biking as well.
Two dozen is enough, right? River grabbed the cartons and headed to the checkout, well aware of the fact that the sun was setting and he looked ridiculous in his sunglasses.
