Don't know if these count, but a lot of my characters names/code names are either hidden jokes, or a play on words. Here's some of the best ones:

Ginny/Mothlotov: A moth girl who can set herself on fire. Ginny = Gin/alcohol, which is used in Molotov cocktails
Leo/Sharktank: A dude who looks like a shark. His power? he spits bullets. He's a shark-tank. (Yea I know its a bad pun)
Sadie/Satyrical: Both are plays off of the word satyr, a mythological creature that she's based on.
Cameron/CCTV: A girl who can see out of other people's eyes and print photos of what she sees. Cameron = Camera, And CCTV stands for Closed Circuit Television, which is what security cameras use

Last but not least: Chris, He's got flowers that grow out of his hair. Whats the joke you ask? Well, Chris is only a nickname, his full name is Chrysanthemum

I guess a lot of my character names could be considered “weird.” Like the core of my cast comes from Latin names/words.
So I’ve got names like Aurelius, Septima, Taurin, and Ignis. But I’d say they’re all roughly equally weird and make okay sense in a fantasy world as opposed to me trying to write realistic modern day characters with those names.

My main character's son's name is Star. To be fair, this guy has some form of star related magic, but I wonder how Sorrel (the dad who named him) knows. It's not even been made a thing yet.
