thanks Jade sent, not really sure what else to say. Partly because she was still a little embarrassed that she jumped to a negative conclusion from his message.

He sighed softly.

Jade had a small smile but just repetitively tapped the side of her phone not sure of what to say now.

Killian swallowed. He didn't quite know what to do.

Jade sighed. I didn't know you could have awkward silences in texts 😂

Jade smiled, imagining that chuckle of his before sighing. There was one question she had to ask. How are we supposed to fight each other now? I don't know if I honestly can after everything that happened.

He replied, shaking his head a little bit.

Jade sighed as he confirmed her… thought. I don't want to fight you anymore but I can't just let anyone else beat you up.

Jade blinked in embarrassment as she reread the last couple messages. It's not that it wasn't true. She did care about him… it was almost impossible for her not to now after everything that happened between them. But…

He hesitated, then didn't say anything else.

Jade bit her lip, still embarrassed, as she tried to type something but the words just wouldn't flow. She sighed and debated calling him to explain herself, thinking she would be able to do better that way… and visiting him would be a bad idea for two reasons.

Killian sighed softly. He didn't know what to say. Or do. Or anything.

can I call you? I think I need to explain but they're not words to type. Jade sent hesitantly and very nervous.

Jade sighed and dialed his number.

Killian answered. "Yeah?" he asked, raising his eyebrows a little bit.

”Ok, let me just start by saying I didn't mean to send that message and I’m sorry for making you uncomfortable or anything with that.” Jade apologized.

"It's fine." he replied. "I'm exhausted and not really thinking straight right now, though."

”Ok.” Jade sighed a little and nodded even though he couldn't see it. ”I… I understand if you don't see me the same way. I don't blame you either. I’m not… I’m not great relationship material.”

Killian sighed. "It's not that, Jade. It's…I just…we can't."
