”Not until one of you explains what is so damn complicated about you two being together.” Sophie said firmly. ”Seriously, is the world going to end or something?”
Jade sighed. ”Maybe you should. She's not going to drop this for a long time.”
"Stop." Killian said to Sophie. He nodded to Jade, and headed to the door, putting his shoes on.
Jade gave him a soft smile as he looked at her. “Try to stay out of trouble.” she chuckled.
Killian nodded, then smirked. "What, me? Stay out of trouble? Never."
Jade rolled her eyes playfully and laughed at his expected response before clutching her head, letting out a small hiss of pain.
Sophie noticed this and sighed, knowing she wasn't going to get any more answers today. ”Another migraine?” she asked her roommate.
Killian left, heading to his car. Stupid stupid stupid stupid!! Why would I do that?
Jade just nodded as an answer and shakily tried to stand up but Sophie quickly grabbed her arm and helped her to her bedroom. This is my fault. I shouldn't have done that… any of that. Jade groaned to herself as she curled up on her bed.
God. Now everything is going to be so much harder. He slammed his head on the steering wheel, groaning softly.
Why? Of all the guys… I don't know how I'll be able to fight him next time. Jade whimpered in pain into her pillow. But… I… I’ll have to…
He started driving, clenching his jaw. Idiot. You idiot. He scolded himself.
Her mind was beginning to blur the possibilities together. It was getting harder to tell them apart from what she knew was most likely to happen. Some of what she saw was beautiful, almost like a miracle, while others were heartbreaking. She cried softly as she tried to regain control of her thoughts.
Killian finally made it back to his home and went inside. This won't end well. He told himself.
Sophie came in once or twice to check on her friend and brought her a glass of water for when she calmed down but didn't stay long. There was nothing else she could really do when Jade was like this.
Killian flopped onto the couch, shaking his head a little, unsure what to do.
Jade must have spent, what felt like, hours before her thoughts finally reached a manageable level… though they were still a little faster than normal. She sighed before picking up the water and downing the whole thing in a few gulps. She was exhausted and probably going to go to sleep soon. She wasn't sure what the odds of her going out in costume tonight were just yet but… Would it cause too much trouble to text him?
(gtg soon)
Killian ran his hands through his hair, sighing. I don't know what to do.
(Ok.)
Jad hesitated before picking up her phone, wanting to text him at the least. To apologize for Sophie being so pushy and for her own actions that turned the end of their time together… awkward at best. But she just stared at her black screen, not having woken it up yet.
Killian turned on the TV, letting out a slow, quiet breath.
Jade groaned and flopped back onto her bed, staring at the ceiling for a few minutes before finally lifting her phone up.
Hey
He unlocked his phone when it chimed, and sighed softly.
hi
Jade relaxed a little when he replied. I’m sorry about how things went when you were visiting.
it's fine.
Killian sighed.
Sophie just doesn't know when to drop something. she sent as an explanation before typing a second message. I don't really regret the kiss though
☺️ … What are we supposed to do now?
i dont know
His reply was simple.
neither do I she sighed as she sent her text.
He didn't know what to say. They couldn't just…pretend it never happened, but…he didn't know.
Even though her attack was over, she still remembered more than a few scenarios where they had made it work. Running away together, if they had been or were on the same side instead of opponents… But all of that was impossible. She couldn’t stop and it was highly unlikely that he would either… Next time I see HB; he's gonna get it.
mm. good luck.
Killian sighed, running a hand through his hair and leaning back on the couch with a soft groan.
