”Yeah…” Jade murmured, nodding as she slid her arms away from his neck but remained where she was. She sighed and opened her eyes.
”Yeah…” Jade murmured, nodding as she slid her arms away from his neck but remained where she was. She sighed and opened her eyes.
Killian looked at her, buitjg his lip a little bit.
Jade’s mind was racing… It wasn't enough to give her a headache yet but she could tell she would get one soon. She sighed a little and leaned against his chest… for support.
Killian stared down at her, raising his eyebrows a little bit. "Jade…? What are you doing?"
Jade blushed at his question. ”Honestly… I’m not sure anymore.” she admitted, making herself pull away. ”I’m sorry.”
Killian chuckled softly. "Mm. It's fine." He replied with a shrug.
”Is it?” Jade groaned. ”I mean… that was great but… We can’t just…” she sighed. ”This is giving me a headache.”
Killian chuckled. "Just speak plainly, Jade. I don't understand what you're saying."
”I’ll try.” Jade sighed and rubbed her forehead. ”First of all, I wanna say that was a great kiss.” she admitted with a small brief smile. ”But… how could we be in that kind of relationship?”
Killian grinned. "Well, you kissed the master of them." He replied with a wink. He nodded. "Yeah. That too. I don't know."
Jade chuckled and playfully rolled her eyes. ”I think I left you pretty speechless for a minute there.” she pointed out.
Killian shrugged. "Eh. Maybe." he replied, smiling a little bit.
”Shut up.” Jade smirked, slapping his shoulder before her smile fell again. ”It’s just… this is so nice but I can't stop what I do and…” she sighed and looked at him, ”it’s obvious you enjoy what you do.” she shook her head. ”A friendship alone is practically impossible but now…”
Killian chuckled, then nodded a little. "Yeah." he agreed softly. "So I don't know what to do now."
While Jade appreciated his honesty, she groaned at his answer. “Neither do I.”
“Are you two kidding me?!?!” Sophie almost yelled as she stood in her bedroom doorway looking at them.
Killian jumped, looking up at Sophie. "Uhm."
Jade turned to look at her roommate in alarm. ”Sophie, how long have you been standing there?”
”Long enough to see you both go from ”Hot damn! What a kiss!” to ”This is hopeless! I never should have done that.”” Sophie said, walking over to them.
Killian rolled his eyes. "It's complicated, Sophie."
”How complicated can it be?” Sophie asked stubbornly.
”Very.” Jade replied simply. ”Any chance you could make her forget a few things?” she whispered to Killian.
Killian shook his head at Jade, then looked at Sophie again. "It's really complicated."
Jade nodded at his shrug while Sophie gave a glare at his answer. ”I’m not stupid or helpless here. Just give me a straight answer; do you two want to be together?”
Killian glanced over at Jade, then away again, biting his lip and running a hand through his hair.
Jade sighed. ”It’s not whether or not we want to be together. It's that we can't. It's just impossible.” she answered, not making eye contact with anyone.
He nodded a little bit, looking down at the floor and sighing softly.
Sophie groaned in exasperation. ”You expect me to believe that there is no way for you two to act on what you both obviously want to?”
Jade shrugged. ”I mean there are one or two ways for us to be together the way you think we do but the only way to do that is to give up something that neither of us can.” she explained. ”So believe what you want, Sophie.”
Killian nodded a little bit. "Yeah." he said softly, in agreement with Jade.
”Why would you have to give up anything?” Sophie asked, still not understanding fully.
Jade sighed, a little tired of trying to explain. ”Because it's the only way a relationship could work for us.”
Killian ran a hand through his hair again, standing.
”Are you leaving?” Jade asked as he stood up.
He shrugged. "Should I?" he asked.
