Finn turned to Lot. "It's fine you stay here. I think we got an emergency placement so it could be really insane right now," She said letting go of their hand.

Lot gave a nod and moved their hand into their pocket, "Got it. I'll, I'll stay out here then."

Cat smiled but she missed their hand. She walked into the house. It took her about 10 minutes to come out of the house. Sam hasn't left yet. She walked up to Lot. "He'll be out soon," She said her smile slightly more forced.

Lotus nodded and looked at Cat. They still weren't making eye contact, "Yeah. He's probably busy. Was it what you thought?"

Cat nodded. "Yeah, two girls. A baby and a 10-year-old. I'm not sure where they are going to sleep or if this is even legal," She said slightly frustrated. She took Lot's hand again.

"Why wouldn't it be legal?" Lotus asked curiously. They tilted their head slightly towards Cat letting the other girl take their hand.

"They only have three beds and I technically can't share a room with anyone a few years younger than me. Plus you've seen my room. It'll probably just be for the night anyway," She said relaxing slightly.

"I see," Lotus nodded along and thought for a moment. They put their other hand in their pocket, "It should be just for the night."

cat nodded. "Yeah, I think they said something about family a few cities away. That's usually what happens. Sam's going to the store after he drops you off. tonights going to be a little insane but nothing new," She said standing close to Lot. She looked over at the door waiting for Sam.

Lotus let Cat do what she needed to do. They let out a slight sigh and looked to the house, "You just have an insane life huh?"

"Yeah It's only going to get more complicated in a few months but it's fine. It could be worse," She said her smile straining again. She was going to lie. Say it's not insane at all but it didn't feel right to lie to Lotus.

"I got it," Lotus nodded and smiled over at Cat. They looked back at the house, "Anything could be worse."

Cat nodded staring the door. Sam finally came out. "sorry I'm here come on," he said going to the car. Cat opened the back door and slid in leaving space for Lot.

Lotus walked after Cat and Sam. They slid into the backseat being extra careful of everything, "It's fine, Sam."

Sam seemed slightly tense but he nodded. "Yeah thanks sam," Cat said smiling softly. Her and Lot's shoulders were touching.

Lotus let Cat do what she was doing. They didn't mind at all. They buckled up and got ready to go home.

Cat hesitated for a second but then she took Lot's hand again. "So other than the possible project did I miss any homework I have to do in English?" She asked smiling softly and looking over at them.

"Not that I can think of," Lotus responded with a smile. They looked back at Cat not quite aware why their heart was fluttering once more.

Cat nodded. She was looking at Lot's lips to stop herself from looking into their eyes. "Nice. I'll be back in school tomorrow," she said. Sam was already driving when he asked for Lotus's address.

Lotus gave Sam their address rattling it off without much thought. They kept smiling and nodded to Cat, "Great. I'll look forward to seeing you there.

Cat nodded again. she rested her head on Lots shoulder slightly. Hands still intertwined.

Lotus tensed up for a moment. Before they relaxed and leaned back against Cat. This was, nice. Arguably nice.

Cat closed her eyes slightly. She wasn’t going to sleep or anything just relaxing. She was pretty sure she recognized Lotus’ street as in the other side of town.

Lotus glanced down to see Cat with her eyes shut. They hadn't had this much physical contact in years. They wanted more but kept their mouth shut knowing this would probably only last until the ride was over.

Cat yawns and sits up as they stop in front of Lots house. “I’ll see you tomorrow,” Cat said smiling at Lotus. She stared at her lips again

Lot smiled already missing Cat's body heat. They moved to leave and gave Cat a grin, "See you tomorrow Cat. And you too Sam." They stepped out of the car and up towards their house.

Cat and Sam waved goodbye. Cat watched her walk up to the door while Sam drove away.

Lotus stepped into the house and was immediately inspected by Myrah. Myrah caught her eyes on Lotus's lisp, "Holy shit you kissed!"

"NO!" Lot exclaimed quickly moving to go up to their room, "She just touched my lips okay?"

"Still she touched them!" Myrah called back following after.

"Shuddup!" Lot yelled back slamming the door behind them.

Cat ended up on the couch for the night. It pulled out so she didn’t mind much. She was sketching getting marks all over her hands before she wrote a long number down on her arm. “That’s my phone # btw. I don’t think I’ve given it to you yet.”

Lotus felt a tingle on their arm and saw the number. they grinned and put it into their phone sending a text over to Cat immediately, "Well now I have it."
