"Hey! I might have white hairs, but I'm not old!" Killian exclaimed, indignant.
Sophie turned to Killian, a little taken aback by what he said. ”What? I didn't mean in years.”
Jade couldn't help the laughter at his response. ”Since when do you take things so literally? That was supposed to be a metaphor.”
Killian rolled his eyes, shaking his head and laughing. "I know it was a metaphor, Jade!"
Jade sighed in exasperation with a smile. ”You are infuriating.”
He smiled. "But of course." he gave a mock bow.
Jade laughed a little at his smile and his bow.
Sophie raised a brow but smirked at their inside joke. To her it seemed to be their way to say what they wanted to but… couldn't for some reason.
He winked at them, chuckling softly and running a hand through his white-streaked hair.
Jade smiled and picked up her plate to take to the sink. ”You wanna try again at the video game?” she asked, smirking a little.
Killian grinned, and stood up. "Yeah, sure."
”Alright.” Jade smiled and took his hand gently. ”I might even show you how to beat my best time.” she whispered.
Killian laughed, then blinked in surprise as she took his hand.
Jade had a faint blush on her cheeks as she walked into the living room with him. This may have been a little bold of her but she wanted to try to pretend that they were normal for a little while.
Killian smiled over at her, trying to ignore the way his insides were flickering in confusion.
Jade returned the smile, knowing that she would have at least an hour-long attack after he left, from indulging in this way of thinking. But right now she chose not to think about it and just enjoy this time.
Killian sat down, picking up a remote and looking at her with a challenging glint in his eyes.
Jade smirked at his look and picked up the second controller before sitting next to him. ”You pick the track.” she said confidently.
Killian picked one, turning it on.
Jade continued to smirk as he picked the race and switched the game to two-player mode.
Sophie walked into the room and took a seat in the recliner on Killian’s side.
Killian sighed softly, and ran a hand through his hair as the race began.
Jade smiled as the race started, her fingers moving fluidly through a familiar pattern.
Killian narrowed his eyes in concentration.
Jade chuckled and performed a special move to gain speed, covering a bit more ground. ”Keeping up alright over there?” she teased.
Killian rolled his eyes. "I don't know, how am I doing?" He took a shortcut.
Jade smiled, raising a brow slightly as he found a shortcut. ”A little better than I expected.” she admitted.
Killian laughed. "Gee, thanks." he replied.
”You’re welcome.” Jade quipped, not taking her eyes off the screen.
Killian laughed again, and continued to speed ahead.
Jade chuckled and raced next to him before taking back the lead.
”Don’t get cocky, Killian.” Sophie warned. ”She’s just warming up.”
Killian smiled lightly, and kept going.
Jade smiled and boosted towards the next shortcut.
