Luke laughed. "For one thing, you seem very much alive. For another…" He shrugged. "I don't know." He smiled at Aegir.
Luke laughed. "For one thing, you seem very much alive. For another…" He shrugged. "I don't know." He smiled at Aegir.
He nodded, approving of Luke's reasoning.
"So…is there anything else you wanna know?" He asked, a hesitant smile on his face as he turned to look out at the waves.
Luke shrugged again. "I…I don't know." He replied. "What about you? Is there anything you want to know?"
"Well, uh..obviously walking isn't the best way to get from place to place…are there any faster ways humans have to get around?" He asked, scratching the back of his head, "Besides boats, I mean."
He smiled. "Yeah! We've got like…cars, which are…" He screwed up his face, trying to figure out how to describe it. "I uhm…cars are like boats, but with wheels." He described. "Wheels are…you know what wheels look like, right?"
"Uh…no, I don't think I do.." He replied rather sheepishly, his face heating up with embarrassment. "Is that what makes them go?"
Luke nodded. "Uh huh. They're round, and rubbery, and they roll. I'll bring my car next time so you can see what I mean."
"Wow, being a human sounds so much cooler than the books say." He sighed, a frown on his face. "They really get a lot wrong about you guys…"
Luke frowned a little. "What do the books say?" He asked slowly. "If they're so wrong?"
"Well, my entire life I was raised to believe that you guys where cruel.." He sighed, resting his chin in the palm of his hand, a frown etched onto his face. "They talk about how your kind is idiotic and care about nothing but themselves and their own personal gain."
Aegir wiggled in his spot a bit, resting a hand on Luke's shoulder.
"You aren't like that, other humans, though?" He shrugged scrunching up his nose as he recalled the time he watched a group of humans harass another smaller human. "I'm not so sure about them.."
Luke hesitated, thinking. "Well…not all of us are. Some are, some aren't." he replied slowly, studying Aegir. "Some of us are idiotic, or selfish, but others are some of the most wonderful people I've ever met."
"Like you!" Aegir exclaimed, throwing his arms around Luke, a wide smile on his face, "You're the friendliest human I have ever met!"
"Of course you are the only human I've ever met…" He giggled, giving Luke a gentle squeeze.
Luke blinked, and carefully hugged Aegir back gently. "I-I…well, you're the only merman I've ever met, so…ditto." he laughed.
He pulled back, a blush on his face as he gazed into Luke's eyes.
"Thank you!" He squeaked, his smile growing wider as he wrapped his arms around himself.
Luke smiled, chuckling softly. "You're welcome." he replied, looking at Aegir.
"Well, what do you want to do now?" He asked, tilting his head, a shy smile on his face as he waited for his response.
Luke shrugged a little. "I don't know. What do you want to do?" He replied, splashing Aegir with a light smile.
The merman gasped, smirking. He pushed himself up, shimmying back into the water. Deeper and deeper he went, until he shot back up into the air, and flipping back into the water, slapping the water with his tail, and splashing luke in the process. When he came back to the surface he smirked, backing up, as if challenging Luke to try it again.
Luke gasped and spluttered as the wave of water splashed on his face, and rubbed at his face. "Hey!" he exclaimed, laughing.
The merman giggled, sinking back under the water and splashing him once again.
"Water fight!" He cheered once he reached the surface, giggling as a wave toppled over him.
Luke laughed, chasing Aegir into the water and splashing at him. The human male knew he was at a distinct disadvantage, but he didn't mind.
Aegir splashed at the human, a warm feeling in his chest. He had never had this much fun in his life.
Luke was laughing as he returned fire, splashing at Aegir and grinning as the water lapped up around his thighs.
( YO I FORGOT ABOUT THIS WEBSITE UGHHH I miss it sm :( ))
Aegir allowed himself to fall backwards into the water. When a few seconds passed, he decided to resurface. When he locked eyes with Luke he flashed a charming smile, which contorted into a sour expression before he sneezed, the force of the surprise sneeze caused him to nearly fall back into the water.
(hey! Welcome back!)
Luke laughed again at the sneeze. "Gesundheit." He said, grinning as he looked over at Aegir.
( thanks lol )
The pale boy smiled, running his hand through his black locks. He looked off to the side, his ears heating up in embarrassment.
(np)
Luke smiled at him, shifting on the sand, the water lapping at his thighs. He could hardly believe that he was here with a merman.
