Cat shrugged and took her bag. “I have chips want to just sit down and chill?” She asked sitting on the park floor.
Cat shrugged and took her bag. “I have chips want to just sit down and chill?” She asked sitting on the park floor.
"Sounds good to me," Lot responded with slight smile grabbing their bag and sitting down across from Cat.
Cat took out her bag of Doritos. She opened it and placed them between the two on them. She looked up at Lot remembering to avoid eye contact last minute and ended up starring at her lips.
Lot watched Cat's eyes, never making contact. They reached for the bag and grabbed a chip, "It, it doesn't have to be a kiss. I don't know, you just, um yeah."
Cat nodded. “Yeah…do you want me to umm,” she trailed off. Tucking a piece of hair behind her ear.
Lot looked down at the ground and their hands, "I, I really don't care. If, if you want to, then, um, go for it."
Cat slowly brought her hand up and lightly brushed her thumb over Lot’s lips. She then gently pushed their chin up.
Lotus could feel the mark fade away. It would always be a lighter color than the rest of her skin. They kept their eyes on her thumb and the lips. They said nothing just breathing out a little onto Cat's hand.
“Can we um do you want to make eye contact or do that another time?” She asked softly. Still lightly holding their chin.
“A, another time,” Lotus responded trying to move their mouth as little as possible. They closed their eyes and breathed out, “Please.”
Cat nodded lowering her hand. “Yeah just tell me when,” she said smiling softly. She played with the grass under her pulling it slightly.
Lotus opened their eyes as Cat's hand disappeared. They let out a breath and leaned back on their hands, "Of, Of course."
Cat nodded again. she ate some of her chips. Her finger had some of Lotus' lipstick. She looked down at the red smudge and then up at Lotus.
Lot reached in and grabbed some type and glanced over at Cat's finger. They didn't know this lipstick was so smudgable, "I, I have makeup wipes if you want one."
Car shrugged. ”sure I just noticed it. Probably should have warned you that the lipstick. It never seems to dry. I don't wear it much, ” she said smiling.
Lot smiled and reached into their bag before grabbing a wipe and handing one to Cat. They kept one to themselves and wiped at their lips revealing their new paler color, "Heh, that would have been nice to know."
Cat smiled. She wiped the lipstick from her finger and then looked at Lotus’s lips. “It’s be….less noticeable.”
"Better than blue," Lotus responded with a slight laugh. They let out a sigh after that, "But people will still be able to tell."
Cat smiled and nodded. She took some more chips. “Yeah but they’ll know that you already found your soulmate so at least no strangers will try kissing you.”
Lot grabbed for some chips as well. They gave her a slight nod, “Yeah. Not like they knew my lips were blue in the first place.”
Cat nodded again. “Yeah i guess they didn’t,” she said trailing off slightly. The sun was starting to set. “We should get going soon.”
Lotus looked up to where the bright white of the sun was slowly disappearing. They moved so they were now standing up, "Yeah, let's get going."
Cat nodded and stood up. She grabbed her bags and the half empty bag of chips. She stood right next to them.
Lot gave them a slight smile and then went to leave the park their hands holding their bag. They looked to Cat, "You coming?"
Cat nodded once again. Putting on their bag and then following Lot. She stood right next to them with only about an inch of space between the two. Her hand bumped theirs slightly.
Lotus felt their hand brush Cat's slightly and almost freaked out before remembering there was no reason to. They were looking away sheepishly before going to grab Cat's hand.
Cat almost froze when she felt Lotus take her hand but then just smiled and kept walking. Swinging their hands between the two of them.
Lotus never looked at Cat, but felt their cheeks heat up only slightly as they walked. At least Cat took their hand and didn't reject it.
Cat kept waking. Her house was up ahead. There were now a few cars parked outside that weren't there when they left. One of which Cat didn't notice. She tightened her grip slightly. "Inside might be a little hectic. Do you want to wait outside while I get Sam?" She asked stopping near the pathway to the door.
"I would like that," Lotus could tell Cat's grip had tightened. They let out a sigh and ran a hand through their hair, "But, but I can come in if you want me to."
