Killian laughed softly, getting up. "Yeah, sure. Let's go."
Killian laughed softly, getting up. "Yeah, sure. Let's go."
Sophie smiled as she took hold of Killian’s wrist and almost pulled him to the living room. ”Let’s see, what’s a quick game that we have?” she said mostly to herself before addressing him. ”You have a console preference?”
Killian shook his head. "Nah. I can play most consoles. I just don't do Wiis."
”Alright.” Sophie nodded, looking at the games they had.
(I don't actually have many video games so I’m drawing a blank on which one she should suggest or which one Jade would be best at… Help?)
Killian was quiet, waiting.
(uhm. I'm not a gamer either…and the only games my brothers play are Roblox lmao)
(lol ok.)
Sophie sighed before finding a good game and pulled out Mirrors Edge. ”Here. This has a speed run we do before lunch is ready.” she smiled and set up the game.
Killian nodded. "Alright."
Sophie picked up the Xbox controller and handed it to Killian, sitting next to him. ”So it's on challenge mode right now. That means that you'll be racing against a ”ghost” of the best time.” she explained before telling him what each button does for this game.
Killian nodded, and started working the controls carefully, learning how it worked.
Sophie mostly just watched him as he played, occasionally giving pointers when he seemed to need them… Though, she was sitting pretty close to him.
Jade poked her head in every once in a while to check on them, but she was relieved that they weren't fighting. Hopefully, things would stay that way.
Killian continued playing, frowning a little bit in concentration.
Sophie got excited when Killian started gaining on the ”ghost” but she had to bite her lip to keep quiet so she wouldn't distract him.
Jade had finished cooking and was standing in the doorway to watch, honestly a little doubtful that he could beat her score.
Killian kept going, eyes narrowed in concentration.
Sophie watched closely as Killian neared the finish line, still trailing behind the ”ghost” but doing way better than what she normally does.
Jade raised a brow at his progress, a little impressed.
Killian continued, cocking his head a little and leaning forward.
Sophie let out a groan of distress as he crossed the finish line a few seconds after the ”ghost”.
”Nice run, Killian.” Jade smiled. ”Food’s done if you're hungry.”
Killian chuckled, then bounced up when he heard the word "food". "Where?"
Jade chuckled at his reaction and gestured for them to come into the kitchen.
”I swear, you two work at a video game company or something?” Sophie asked as she paused the game and walked to the kitchen. ”Jade writes or designs 'em and you test ’em?”
Killian laughed, heading into the kitchen. "Nah. I actually work security." he replied, grinning at Jade teasingly.
Jade gave Killian a slight glare at the joke before handing him a plate. Him? Security? That was just ridiculous.
”Really?” Sophie asked, buying the story. ”Caught anyone recently then?”
Killian laughed. "Oh yeah. And nah, not really." he took the plate, smirking at Jade a little bit.
Jade rolled her eyes and went with it. ”Not really a lot of trouble makers visit video games studios.” she said. ”And I’m a computer freelancer.”
Sophie picked up a plate. ”That explains your work hours.”
Killian grinned, and ate a little bit.
Jade sighed and grabbed her own plate. ”There’s nothing wrong with my hours.”
”No. But you’re paychecks are weird.” Sophie pointed out.
”It depends on who needs my help and what kind of problem they have.” Jade said, slightly agitated.
Killian sighed softly, and kept eating, not commenting.
”What about you, Killian? Are you freelance too?” Sophie asked.
”Soph, quit acting like your a concerned mother and he's my boyfriend.” Jade glared. ”We’re just friends.”
"I told you, I work security." Killian replied with a laugh.
”No, I caught that. I meant are you freelance security? Ya know, like a private guard or something.” Sophie explained.
"Oh. Yeah, sometimes, yeah." Killian replied.
Jade chuckled. ”He really takes whatever job he can get.” she smirked at him.
”Isn't that what freelancing is?” Sophie asked, missing the subtle jab.
