@ElderGod-Icefire
Alex studied Gabe for a moment, then nodded a little. "Oh. Alright." he replied slowly.
Alex studied Gabe for a moment, then nodded a little. "Oh. Alright." he replied slowly.
Gabe smiled again, then realized he had put his hand on the bed and pulled it away.
Alex watched Gabe, eyes flickering slightly.
Gabe sighed once.
"Is there anything you want to do?" he asked.
Alex shrugged a little. "Is there a book I can read?" He asked softly.
Gabe thought for a moment, then nodded.
"I'll go get it," he said, standing up and leaving the room.
Alex nodded slightly, and watched Gabe go. His knees were tucked to his chest again.
Gabe came back soon, carrying an older looking book.
"Will this do?" he asked, holding it out to Alex.
Alex took it carefully, and nodded. "Yeah." he replied softly. "Thank you…"
"You're welcome," Gabe said, sitting down in his chair again.
Alex opened up the book and started to read quietly, the blankets still wrapped around his body.
Gabe settled down again, occasionally looking up at Alex to make sure he was doing okay.
Alex kept reading, curled up in a little ball.
Gabe watched for a moment, smiling softly. Still, he wasn't sure if Alex was doing okay yet, but he said nothing.
Alex took a deep breath, shifting just a little bit.
Gabe glanced up when Alex breathed deeply, tilting his head a little without saying anything.
Alex went back to his reading, curled over the book as he read.
(Timeskip??)
(Yeah, when to?)
(uhm idk lmao)
(umm… How about the next morning when Gabe has to go to work?)
(alright!)
Gabe woke up slowly the next morning, having fallen asleep in his chair next to the bed. His head was resting on the mattress, and he knew he was going to have a sore back because of it. He sat up, rubbing his eyes before glancing over to check on Alex.
Alex was curled up in a little ball on the bed, his body buried beneath the covers and his hair fanning out on the pillows. His head was mostly hidden by the sheets as well.
Gabe stood, stretching. He groaned a little very quietly, then lightly placed his hand on Alex's shoulder.
"Hey," he said quietly.
Alex jumped, eyes flying open and flashing over Gabe for a moment. He studied Gabe's face. "What?" He asked softly.
Gabe was a bit startled when Alex jumped, pulling his hand away.
"I have to go to work soon. Will you be alright staying here alone, or would it be better for you to come with me? I work at a factory."
Alex hesitated. "I…I'll be alright here." he replied slowly. "I-I think." so long as the ghost didn't come around again. So long as he didn't fall into one of those waking nightmares again.
Gabe loomed at Alex closely for a moment .
"…Okay then. I'll… write down the direction to my work if you need to get to me. The lady next door is also willing to help, so long as to you say you're staying with me."
Alex nodded slightly. "The lady next door…whose husband died?" He asked cautiously. He knew he wouldn't go there if her husband was the one who had just died.
"Her, yes. But you could also go to the lady who lives on the other side. She and her husband help out too." Gabe stretched a little again.
"I can also make you some food for breakfast, if you're up to it."
