Gabe smiled softly when Alex looked up at him, tilting his head a little.
"Better?" he asked softly.
Gabe smiled softly when Alex looked up at him, tilting his head a little.
"Better?" he asked softly.
Alex nodded, looking away again and taking a deep breath. "I'm okay." he whispered.
Gabe gave Alex another hug, smiling.
"I'm glad you're doing better," he said, obviously happy.
Alex leaned into Gabe a little bit, closing his eyes for a moment, then opening them again. "Yeah. Thanks."
Gabe continued to smile.
"Think you can stand up?" he asked.
Alex shrugged a little bit, biting his lip for a moment. "I-I…I don't know…"
"Do you want some help up?" Gabe asked.
Alex nodded. "Yes please." he whispered, looking up at Gabe.
Gabe nodded, unwrapping his arms from around Alex and standing. He offered both hands to Alex to help him up.
Alex took Gabe's hands, getting up. He looked around the room.
Gabe stayed close to Alex, smiling.
Alex looked at Gabe, biting his lip a little bit. "Are…what are we going to do today?" He asked softly.
"That depends on how much you can do," Gabe said.
Alex nodded a little bit. "Okay." He realized that his hands were still linked with Gabe's, and bit his lip slightly. He knew he should probably let go, but…he didn't really want to.
Gabe didn't let go of Alex's hands either, figuring Alex would let go if need be. Besides, he figured Alex needed some comfort still.
"Do you think you'll be able to walk outside?" Gabe asked.
Alex shrugged a little bit. "I…don't know." he replied slowly, looking at Gabe and chewing on his lip a little bit. "I think so? As long as there isn't too many people."
Gabe nodded.
"How does going to the park sound?" he asked with a little smile. It might do Alex some good.
Alex hesitated, then nodded. "I…I think I can do that." he replied softly.
Gabe smiled.
"Okay then. You need help walking?" he asked. He was glad Alex had agreed.
Alex hesitated again. He shook his head. "No. I…don't think so."
"Okay." Gabe reluctantly let go of Alex's hands.
"Please tell me if that changes, or if you don't want to go anymore, okay?" He smiled softly.
Alex nodded. "Okay. I-I will." he said softly, looking up at Gabe.
Gabe nodded, smiling gently.
"Let's go, then," he said, sticking close to Alex as he led him out of the apartment.
Alex nodded and followed Gabe closely. He glanced around at everyone with a trace of fear in his eyes.
There weren't many people out, thank god. Gabe glanced back at Alex occasionally, giving him a small smile.
Alex watched Gabe, hesitantly returning the smile with a little one of his own. He fidgeted with the hems of his shirtsleeves.
Gabe was really happy when Alex managed to return his smile, leading him through the streets. Eventually, they came to the park. It was a little dingy, like the rest of the city, but it looked a lot cleaner too. There weren't many people there either.
Alex followed Gabe into the park, relaxing a little bit when he realized that there weren't many people there. He sighed softly.
Gabe turned to look at Alex, walking backward.
"It's not much," He said, "but it's better than being cooped up all day."
Alex nodded a little bit. "Yeah." he agreed, lips twitching into a faint, faint little smile.
