“I can see that, Connor.” The corners of Wilhelm’s lips turned upwards slightly. “A bad teacher spoils the whole lesson, but to me science is just fascinating to learn.” His eyes lit up at the thought.
“I can see that, Connor.” The corners of Wilhelm’s lips turned upwards slightly. “A bad teacher spoils the whole lesson, but to me science is just fascinating to learn.” His eyes lit up at the thought.
Connor shrugged. "Science is boring. But I respect yer opinion." he replied, looking at Wilhelm. "Agree ta disagree?"
“Mm, sure. Let me know if you need help with anything, won’t you? Since you helped me with my English and all of that.” Wilhelm leaned back in his seat a tad, head tilted. His posture was relaxed and familiar, something that didn’t happen often in the cafeteria.
"Alright." Connor replied. He took a sip of his tea again, looking over at Wilhelm. Why did I have to end up with an attractive roommate??
Wilhelm checked his watch, and he bolted upright. “Ah, fuck. I’m going to go ahead and go back to the dorm in a minute, but I just remembered that I was meaning to check my mail today. I’ll see you in a few, yeah?”
Connor nodded. "Yeah, go ahead. See yeh later." he replied, waving a little bit and giving Wilhelm a quick smile.
Wilhelm nodded, putting away his dishes before walking quickly out of the cafeteria. After collecting his mail- which was quite the ordeal, it had been a little while since he had last picked it up- he sat back in the dorm, fishing through the letters for one in particular.
Connor finished his tea, and people-watched, looking at all the people in the cafeteria.
Wilhelm had found the letter, now trying to open the envelope as cleanly as possible without damaging it. Not that he would use it again, no, he just didn’t like the thought of ruining stationary that could be used to sort letters for the future.
Connor finished his tea and got up, heading to the dorm room. He took a deep breath, sitting down and getting out his science homework.
Wilhelm sat on his bed, a wooden box on his lap and letters stacked meticulously around him. He seemed to be sorting them, scanning through each one to decide where they went.
Connor glanced over at Wilhelm for a moment, then continued to work on his science homework, frowning a little bit.
Wilhelm finally finished his sorting after a few minutes, and was now reading through his new letters. There were a couple he merely scanned and put away. His attention was more focused on one letter in particular, where he, upon finishing it, set it down calmly, having half a mind to get up and throw it into the fireplace in the common room- and it showed on his face.
(I gtg to bed now. Good night!)
Connor glanced up and saw Wilhelm's expression. "Wil? Is something wrong?" he asked softly, biting his lip. "You look upset."
(gn!)
“I am, a tad bit. I feel like I shouldn’t be putting the contents out into the open, but I will be because otherwise I’m burning this and myself in that fireplace. Essentially a past boyfriend of mine has just sent me this.. thoughtful letter explaining why I should take him back. Here’s why this is odd- I broke up with him, and that was, what, a year ago? Two? However long it was, the damned thing’s vulgar and crass enough to make a sailor blush.” Wilhelm snorted, placing the letter neatly back into its envelope and into the box.
Connor nodded a little bit. "Oh." He thought for a moment. "Ah'm no' quite sure what th' proper response here is." He admitted with a quiet laugh.
“I don’t either, believe me.” Wilhelm snorted, closing the box once more. “That boy’s.. something else, but I can’t say just what. Ah, but you don’t want to hear me complain any more, I’m sure.”
Connor shrugged a little. "Ah dinnae mind listenin'." He replied, looking down at his homework, then at Wilhelm again. "Bu'…ah still have tae do my homework." He let out a quiet laugh.
“Well, of course that’s a priority.” Wilhelm nodded, rolling the hem of his shirt. It was unbuttoned by two or three buttons, the collar now loose and slightly disheveled.
Connor smiled a little. "But…ah'm stuck anyways." He replied, setting it aside for a moment to stretch and trying to keep his eyes away from the unbuttoned portion of Wilhelm's shirt.
“What’s it on? I can try to help.” Wilhelm tilted his head, moving to the edge of his bed. He picked at his shirt cuffs, rolling them to his elbows. “Well- I guess that depends. What’s it on?”
Connor sighed, and held out the homework to Wilhelm. "Ah dinnae e'en foocking know." he said with a soft laugh.
Wilhelm took the work, reading over it. “Ah- I believe this is biology. One of my fields of expertise, lucky for you.” He laughed, looking over what Connor had already written.
Connor sighed loudly. "Ah hate 't." he replied calmly, looking at Wilhelm with a faint smile. "Ah really, really hate it."
“What about it do you hate?” Wilhelm continued looking over the questions, not really looking up as he spoke.
"Everythin'." Connor replied dramatically. "Absolutely everythin'." he flopped on his stomach, watching Wilhelm.
“Everything? That’s sad, Connor.” Wilhelm laughed softly, tapping his pen against his lips. He wasn’t writing, only trying to figure out the answers before assisting Connor. “Very, very sad.” He mumbled quietly, although he wasn’t completely aware of it.
Connor wrinkled his nose. "What? Ah told yeh tha' ah dinnae like biology. It's annoyin', an' stupid. No offense to yeh, bu' tha's my opinion."
“And I respect that, you know.” Wilhelm’s voice was soft and calm, almost a purr. “Ah, so this answer is wrong. You’re almost right, though.” He stood, head still tilted towards the paper as he came closer to Connor’s bed. He tapped the answer with his pen, finally looking up. “It’s a common mistake, but reread the question carefully.”
Connor sighed loudly, and tried to ignore the way something inside him wanted to respond to that soft, near purr in Wilhelm's voice. "Fiiiine." he scooched over, looking down at the paper.
