“Yeah, sorry if it’s bugging you.” Wilhelm’s face went slightly pink as he sat down on his bed. His hands still flitted through his hair every few moments, but he picked up a book and forced himself to go somewhat still.
“Yeah, sorry if it’s bugging you.” Wilhelm’s face went slightly pink as he sat down on his bed. His hands still flitted through his hair every few moments, but he picked up a book and forced himself to go somewhat still.
Connor shook his head. "Nah, it's fine." he replied, tugging on a curl as he worked on his homework.
“Good, good.” Wilhelm picked up his pen as he opened the book. He began to make small notes in the margins and text mark as usual, trying to pick out the most important things to reference later.
Connor smiled a little bit, then continued to work on his homework.
Wilhelm read for a little while, although he must’ve been really tired, judging by the fact that he had fallen asleep again.
Connor sat up when it was time for dinner, and went over to Wilhelm. "Hey, it's time for dinner." he said.
“What?” Wilhelm sat up, bleary-eyed . He blinked the sleep out of his eyes and rubbed his face, head tilted slightly to the left.
Connor smiled a little bit. "Come on. Dinner. Food. Ah'm hungry." he replied, poking Wilhelm's shoulder impatiently.
“Alright, alright, I’m up.” Wilhelm stood, trying to quickly fix his hair. “You didn’t have to wait for me, Connor, you know that, right?”
Connor shrugged a little. "Yeah, but ah am. Now come on." He replied, going to the door and then waiting for Wilhelm, almost like a puppy waiting to be walked.
“Well, I appreciate it.” Wilhelm caught up to Connor, still trying to make himself look somewhat presentable.
Connor shrugged again. "Good. Now come on. Ah'm hungry." He sounded, now, almost like a whiny little kid. He rolled his shoulders a little.
Wilhelm rolled his eyes playfully. “Don’t whine, we’ll be there soon enough.” He led them outside the dorm and into the hallway. “It’s a short walk.”
Connor wrinkled his nose crabbily. "Ah'm no' whining, ah'm… motivatin'." He replied with a soft laugh, walking down the hallway with Wilhelm.
“Is that what they call it these days? Interesting.” Wilhelm elbowed Connor jokingly, walking into the cafeteria. “You go ahead and get food, I’m going to save a spot. Something tells me we’ll be the only ones there, if this morning is any indication.”
(I gtg early tonight, I've got something going on. I probably won't respond again. Sorry!)
Connor nodded. "Alright." He replied with a quick smile, heading to get food.
(no problem! gn!)
Wilhelm sat down, waiting for Connor to get back so he could get food himself. He drummed his fingers on the table, looking around the cafeteria vacantly.
Connor came back, sitting down with a plate of food in his hands. He also had a mug of tea. Again. Then again, he was from the British Isles, so a liking for tea was only logical.
“Ah, hey. I’m going to go get food, if you don’t mind holding down the seats.” Wilhelm stood up, pushing his chair in and adjusting his shirt collar. He yawned, still rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.
Connor nodded a little. "Yeah, tha's fine." he replied with a smile. "Go get food." he took a bite of his own food.
“Thanks.” Wilhelm stretched, clasping his hands behind his neck and walking off. He stood in line for a few minutes, finally coming back with his plate and a glass of water.
Connor nodded a little bit. He was still eating when Wilhelm came back, and looked up. "Hey." he greeted. He was about to say something else when a tall boy came over, tapping Connor on the shoulder.
"Hey, Connor. Did you do the science homework yet?" the boy asked. He had a cane in one hand, and was leaning on it a little bit.
Connor sighed. "No. Ah couldnae figure 't out." he replied with a laugh, looking up at the boy. He looked at Wilhelm. "Oh! Ah should introduce you two. Wilhelm, this is Oliver. He's in m' science class. Oliver, this is Wilhelm, m' roommate."
“Nice to meet you, Oliver.” Wilhelm sat down, unsure of whether or not he should stick his hand out to offer a handshake.
Oliver smiled, and held out his hand. "Nice to meet you too." he replied. He had a gentle, rolling English accent. The boy must have been nearly six feet tall, and had a body like he played sports, but with the way he was leaning on that cane…it was doubtful that he really did play.
Wilhelm stood slightly and shook Oliver’s hand, running his free hand through his hair. He took his seat once more, taking a sip of his water. “How are you?”
Oliver shrugged a little. "Fine, I guess. This leg's a bitch, but there isn't anything i can do to fix it."
Connor grimaced a little bit, taking a sip of tea.
“Well, yeah.” Wilhelm shrugged as well, although he glanced at Connor with a slight worry in his eye. “Is something wrong?”
Connor shook his head slightly. "No." He replied. "Just tired. An' ah still have ta do the science homework."
Oliver smiled a little. "It's not that bad, Scottie boy." He replied with a laugh.
Wilhelm checked his watch. “You’ve got time, but I can help you if you need it.” He cocked his head for a split moment, although he quickly fixed his posture. His eyes drifted to the door every so often as he ate, although not often.
Oliver sat down, leaning his cane against the table. "I can help, too, if you need."
Connor glanced between the two, thumbing his lower lip for a moment. "Ah think ah got it, guys, but thanks." he replied. He looked at Oliver. "What happened ta yer leg, anyways?"
Oliver sighed. "It got run over. Bones, muscle, tendon. Everything completely shattered. It didn't heal right. So I have to wear a brace and use this cane."
