Caleb wrapped a protective arm around him. “I don’t know his name but someone definitely hired him to kill me, which ya know, kinda sucks because that means someone actually suspects that I’m Dark. But I’ve run into this guy before.” He shivered a bit. “The dude even gives me the creeps, especially if the stuff he says is true. Speaking of which,” he looked at Kyle, “what all did he say to you?”
Kyle fiddled with the ends of Caleb’s shirt, “W-Well.. he said that the- the reason he was there was to kill you and.. and that if he did maybe they’d let him- him keep me as a prize… a-and he called me pretty and that you- you didn’t love me… basically..”
He kissed his cheek softly. “I’m sorry, that sounds very unsettling. From what I’ve heard about him since I first encountered him…he really does do that. Keep people.”
Kyle shivered, pouting a little, “What kind of person does that?”
“Someone who’s completely insane.” He replied simply, going quiet for a few seconds before speaking up again. “I’ll call Veronica to come get him before he wakes up.” He stood up, walking over to a side of the room and quickly making the call before coming back to Kyle’s side, hugging him tightly.
Kyle hugged him back, hiding his face in Caleb’s chest. He didn’t want to leave his arms ever again, mainly because he didn’t feel safe anywhere else.
“You wanna go to bed?” He asked, rubbing soothing circles into his back.
“Don’t you have to go back to work?” He whispered, though he didn’t move.
He shook his head. “Not tonight. Given the circumstances, no one will be mad at me for staying home. And even if they were, I’d still stay with you.”
He nodded a little, snuggling in closer, “Okay then… c-can you carry me to bed please?”
“Of course darling.” He kissed him on the forehead before scooping Kyle into his arms, carrying him to the bedroom and setting him down gently. He lay down beside him, pulling him close to his chest. “Veronica will come haul that guy off which means we have the rest of the night all to ourselves.”
He smiled, hiding himself in Caleb’s arms and letting out a content sigh, “Good. I don’t want you to leave me ever again.”
“I will do my best to stay then.” He ran a gentle hand through Kyle’s hair, a content smile on his face. After several seconds of silence, a thought occurred to him, a thought that definitely made him nervous but he figured now might be the right time to ask. “Hey babe…once all of this is over, would you maybe wanna go visit where I grew up, a-and maybe meet my parents or something??”
Kyle tilted his head, pressing a kiss to the bottom of Caleb’s jaw, “I’d love to, it would be an honour to meet your parents only I don’t have anything to wear.”
His smile widened, a small blush appearing on his face. “T-that’s okay, my folks are real casual anyways.” He planted a few gentle kisses on top of Kyle’s head.
Kyle giggled, placing a hand in Caleb’s cheek, “You’re blushing! How cute.”
“Shut up” he grumbled, only blushing more. “You’re the cute one here sir.”
Kyle giggled, “I dunno about that but you just went a deeper shade of red mister.”
Caleb rolled his eyes before bombarding him with kisses.
Kyle squealed, squirming and trying to get away.
Caleb grinned and held him tightly, not letting him escape. He kept going with his attack of kisses too.
"C-Caleb! Stop it!" He whined.
“No! Never! Not until you admit you’re the cutest!”
"Nuh uh!" Kyle giggled, squirming in Caleb's arms as he tried to shimmy away.
“Okay fine! F-Fine I’m the cutest!”
Caleb grinned. “Yay!” He planted one final kiss on Kyle’s forehead before moving away, resting his head on Kyle’s stomach.
Kyle ran his fingers through Caleb’s hair, playing with the strands. It was nice to just relax like this.
He smiled softly. He was so happy. Because Kyle knew all the secrets he’d kept, but he still stayed. He wasn’t disgusted or afraid. He snuggled more into Kyle. “I love you so so so much” he mumbled. “More than anything ever.”
Kyle blushed and smiled, pressing a kiss to the top of her head, “I love you so much more.”
