"Why couldn't you have absorbed fire powers? Why couldn't I have fire powers? Maybe that would have made this process a lit quicker." He mumbled, staring into the oven.
"Why couldn't you have absorbed fire powers? Why couldn't I have fire powers? Maybe that would have made this process a lit quicker." He mumbled, staring into the oven.
He laughed softly. “Yeah maybe it would. Guess we’ll never know. They shouldn’t be too much longer. We did turn on the oven though, right?”
Kyle snorted, "Yes, Caleb, we turned the oven on." Sure enough, the cakes were rising in the heat, slowly cooking away and ready to come out at any moment.
“Just checking.” He fell silent for a bit more before asking, “Hey babe how hot would it be if I got a beard, not a big one but just like, let the stubble grow out a bit?”
He turned around, raising a brow with a slightly amused smile, "Well I dunno. I suppose you might have to do it and then I can tell you if it's hot or not."
“…that smile looks evil, I don’t believe you.” He said suspiciously, his eyes narrowing. “Tell me the truth.”
"Evil?" His mouth dropped, though he was still smiling, "How was that an evil look! I was being truthful!"
“I don’t believe youuuuu!” He whined out. “I don’t know why but I just don’t.” He pouted up at him. “I don’t even know why I asked, I’m very clearly always hot, no matter what.”
Kyle rolled his eyes, shaking his head in disbelief, "And there's that arrogance again. I'm honestly surprised you lasted that long without complimenting yourself."
“On hush you. I don’t know what you were expecting. I was bound to just default back to arrogance at some point.” He chuckled softly.
He turned back to the cupcakes, rocking on his heels, "Yeah yeah I know. But I was being serious, though. Grow it out and then I'll tell you what I think."
“Hmm…Okay then maybe I will.” He fell silent but of course, Caleb being Caleb, it didn’t last. “Hey babe have you realized that we’ve never been on an actual date?”
"Maybe because there's been so much shit going on recently we never did," He shrugged, "Unless you count the club we went to when we first met."
He stuck his bottom lip out, pouting softly. “Well that hardly seems fair.” He looked up at Kyle. “After this is all over, I’ll take you on as many dates as I can, I promise.”
Kyle smiled softly, moving to kiss Caleb on the cheek before the timer on the oven dinged, indicating that the cakes were done, "Okay babe."
“Food!” Caleb exclaimed excitedly, automatically seeming more energized. So yeah that whole serious conversation just kind of yeeted from his mind.
((Dude my mind generated random angst for this that would never actually happen but I’ve been upset about it for the past like two days lmao))
(Sorry for the random absence. Went through a breakup/my birthday there. What was your random generated angst?)
Kyle turned around to the oven, grabbing the oven gloves and opening the door, "Now they'll be hot and need time to cool before we can eat them. And we need to ice them."
((‘‘Twas this kinda long random thing that’d never really happen, but if you want to know I’ll write it out. And it’s okay dude, I was just worried about you.))
Caleb whined. “But I don’t wanna wait!!” He pouted up at Kyle. “I’m hungryyyyyyyyyyy, babe have mercy. I’ll burn my mouth it’s fine.”
((Also happy late birthday!!))
(Thank you :) and i'm surviving aha)
Kyle shook his head, "Nuh uh, you cannot touch them until they're ready and if you do I'ma be very sad."
(I’m glad you’re surviving lol)
“Mmmmm fine. I don’t want you to be sad. But I would like my hugs back then, sir.” He said, making grabby hands at Kyle.
Kyle rolled his eyes, however there was still a smile on his face. He moved towards Caleb, wrapping his arms around the others middle.
“Thank you, kind sir.” Caleb chuckled softly, resting his head on Kyle’s shoulder and gently closing his eyes.
Kyle closed his eyes himself, letting himself relax against Caleb. He wished that this moment would last forever.
Caleb smiled softly. He wanted nothing more than to hold Kyle in his arms for the rest of eternity. But he knew that eventually he’d have to leave. And maybe he’d have to leave for awhile. Days and months where he wouldn’t be able to see Kyle smile, where he wouldn’t be able to wake up at his side and tell him he loved him. He pushed those thoughts away, trying to focus on right now.
He didn't want this moment to end. He wanted it to drag on forever and ever and ever and be content with that. With being held. All of Kyle's worries were washed away whenever Caleb was there. If he was to leave.. Kyle knew he would be a mess, a very big, anxiety-filled, mess.
Caleb picked his head up, planting some soft kisses from Kyle’s neck up to his cheek. “Do you think the food’s cooled down enough yet?” He hummed out quietly.
Kyle blushed at the kisses and then shrugged, pulling away from the hug to check on the food. He then smiled and nodded, "They're ready for icing."
“Can I just have one now pleeeeeeease.” He begged, making his best puppy dog eyes over at Kyle. “I’ll still help you ice them I just want one now.”
