urielle pulled nathaniel back and shushed him, glancing around to make sure Jarvis hadn't heard "no, we're not getting married. at least not yet." He sat him down back with V. "Yes, you can be a groomsman, Nath. That is if he says yes. but it won't be for a few months. Think you can keep it a secret until then?" he asked, winking at the boys and smiling.
V smiled, happy to see Urielle in love. "you deserve it urielle, not getting kicked out but you and jarvis. You seem very happy together and he seems to like you just as much."
"You're no fun~" Nathaniel whined, practically bouncing in his seat with excitement. "Fiiiine… I won't tell Jarvis how much you looove him~" He snickered a bit and leaned into V again, knowing he was being childish. "But y'all better hook up soon. You know how impatient I am."
urielle smiled down at the table and blushed "i know, I'll try Nath. Valderian, it's your job to keep this one's mouth shut, K? We don't need him spoiling the surprise." V laughed and hugged Nathaniel close "no promises urielle, I kinda want to see you two get married soon too."
He shook his head "what am I going to do with you two."
Nathaniel stuck his tongue out playfully, still grinning. "And you know he couldn't keep me quiet. I'm too stubborn." He kissed V's cheek sweetly.
V smiled and nodded “he really is.”
Urielle smiled at the two and glanced up when Jarvis came. He pulled a chair over and sat backwards in it. “Sorry about that, Jessie couldn’t find the lime and people were getting mad.” Urielle shook his head and gently brushed Jarvis’ cheek with his hand “it’s alright, we were just going over some things about the wedding.” He said, nodding to V and Nathaniel, giving them both a warning glance.
Jarvis smiled at the touch and pressed a kiss to Urielle’s hand before taking it in both of his own and holding it. “Right, you said you needed someone who knew how to sew because of your wings.”
"I guess you know how to sew then, Jarvis?" Nathaniel asked, unable to hide his smile when Jarvis kissed Urielle's hand. He was struggling immensely to keep quiet, but he managed it for Urielle's sake. The man had done so much for he and V that keeping quiet was the least he could do in return.
V rested his head on Nathaniel’s shoulder and looked at Urielle and Jarvis, glad to see them together and very much in love.
Jarvis laughed and shook his head “sadly I don’t, but I think I do know an angel that does. She usually come in around 1:00 so if you’re willing to stay a little longer, I’m sure I can introduce her to you.”
"I don't think we've got anywhere to be." Nathaniel smiled softly, looking up at V for confirmation. "I'd love to meet her."
V shook his head “nope, we can stay.”
Jarvis smiled and stood. “Great! I’ll be right back with your order then.” He pressed another kiss to Urielle’s hand and winked before striding off to the back kitchen.
Urielle flushed lightly and peeked up at Nathaniel and V “thank you,”
Nathaniel groaned and sprawled across the table dramatically. "I wanna tell hiiiiim…" He whined. "Keeping secrets suuuucks… just tell him you like him already."
Urielle laughed “You’re one to talk Nath, how long did it take for you to tell V you loved him?” He arched an eyebrow at him with a smile “plus, he already knows, we’ve been together for a while now. I’m just waiting for the right time to ask him to marry me.”
"Well, I didn't know I actually liked him! I legitimately thought I was experiencing strong feelings of friendship because no one told me what love was." Nathaniel sighed.
V feigned shock “so those first few times you said you loved me were a lie? My angel, I can’t believe you’d hurt me like that!” He laughed and nuzzled into Nathaniel’s neck.
Urielle laughed at the two and shook his head “you knew what love was, you just couldn’t put a name to it at the time.”
"I thought love was a friend thing, V!" Nathaniel flushed in embarrassment. "My parents hadn't exactly given me 'the talk', nor did they often tell each other they loved one another. I know what love is now…"
V shook his head “and here I thought you loved me more than a friend.” He sighed dramatically and pressed a kiss to Nathaniel’s cheek
"I think I did, but I didn't know I did." Nathaniel kissed him in return and rolled his eyes. "I can't help how innocent and pure I was, darling."
V just shook his head with a smile “I know, love. I know.” He nuzzled his hair and squeezed him tight “I still love you no matter what.”
"Mm… thanks." Nathaniel leaned into V, smiling softly. "I'm glad to hear it. I'd be pretty sad if you decided to leave me."
“I’d never do that to my angel.” He nudged their heads together, glancing up only when Jarvis came back with a few plates of breakfast. “Alright, we have maple walnut waffles for V, steak and fries for Urielle and …a toasted bagel with cream cheese for Nath. You sure you don’t want anything else with that?”
"I'm fine, thank you." Nathaniel accepted his bagel and nibbled at it absently. Although he preferred his bagels plain and untoasted, this would do fine as well, he supposed.
V nodded in thanks to Jarvis and dig into the delicious food.
“Aren’t you going to eat?” Urielle asked Jarvis, offering him a bite of his food. Jarvis smiled gratefully and ate the bite with a smile. “No, I’ll eat lunch later once my shift ends.”
Nathaniel kept quietly eating his bagel while he watched the interaction. Just get married already, dammit! He thought to himself, frustrated.
V took Nathaniel’s hand underneath the table and squeezed it gently, watching the two as they all ate. “So Urielle tells us you’ve been together for a while, was that before when we were kids?” He asked
Urielle and Jarvis nodded
“Urielle was my mentor until I got better at him at fighting and became a teacher.” He laughed softly
"You must've been pretty good at hiding it." Nathaniel hummed softly. "I mean, they kicked me out for being gay and crippled when I was eight, and I didn't even know that I was gay."
V laved their hands together and rested his hand on his shoulder.
Urielle shrugged "I don't think we were quite in a relationship at the time. We were defiantly close but I think the guard found that understandable between a mentor and their succeeding student."
"Yeah, we also didn't see much of each other when they started kicking out Angels. we tried to meet when we could but we were both trying to keep a low profile. it wasn't until V got kicked that Urielle contacted me, knowing I had a job down here for a while."
Nathaniel nodded. "And then again when I was kicked…" He sighed softly. "I wish they had a better system. I wasn't ready to be basically living alone. I mean, I took care of myself at home a lot, but I could still talk to other people if I wanted to… it was also incredibly emotionally taxing on me. I mean, I was pretty much an empty husk by the time I got to you."
"It was a hard time, it still is." Urielle replied with a heavy sigh." Jarvis took his hand and pressed a kiss to his fingertips "they didn't know what they lost when they kicked you out, when they kicked any of us out. They'll learn soon enough and regret it." he reassured, pressing his cheek against Urielle's hand in an effort to comfort him.
V nodded in agreement and silently ate his food, no words could be added to the statement
"Mhmm…" Nathaniel nodded again and entwined his fingers with V's. "I couldn't think of anything but that I wanted to go back and that I missed V and Urielle. I developed some… unhealthy coping mechanisms, to say the least. I'm sorry you had to deal with that, Jarvis."
"it's okay Nath. I've seen worse, though never from such a young angel. You and V didn't deserve to go though that. I'm sorry that you did."
It was urielle's turn to comfort Jarvis, seeing that his face fell when he talked about the others who got kicked from heaven. Urielle stroked his cheek gently and brushed their wings together.
Nathaniel leaned into V, sighing quietly. "I just… I was a kid who desperately wanted to go back home, and I thought that was the only way…"
