"Ah…no." He replied, and picked up the menu, reading through it. He hummed softly.
"Ah…no." He replied, and picked up the menu, reading through it. He hummed softly.
”The chow mien is really good. I'm probably going to get the teriyaki chicken.” she suggested with a smile.
He nodded. "Alright." He replied, still looking at the menu.
Jade hummed briefly as Chen Xiu came back with water for them. ”我請尹來來得到你朋友的命令.” the dark-haired woman smiled at Jade.
”我不介意翻譯.” Jade argued softly with a light blush. ”不用打擾你兒子.”
Killian raised an eyebrow. "Interpret?" he asked slowly, looking at Jade. "Please?"
Jade chuckled. ”She just thinks that it would be easier for you to talk to her son since he speaks English but I really don't mind translating.” her blush grew a little. ”Yin has a bit of a crush on me. It's a little awkward.”
"Ohh, alright." Killian replied. He chuckled softly. "I'm guessing that you don't return the crush?" he questioned, raising an eyebrow.
She shook her head. ”He’s four years younger than me, very smart and very sweet, I’ll admit but he's not really my type.” she shrugged. ”He’s just a good friend to me.”
Killian chuckled. "Ah, I see." he replied. "I'm sure he'll move on eventually."
”I hope so.” she nodded, running her fingers through her hair. ”Preferably sooner rather than later.” she chuckled.
Killian hummed softly, then chuckled. "Mhm. I see." he replied, looking at her with a small smile.
She rolled her eyes. ”I don't expect you to understand. You’d probably enjoy having someone being infatuated with you like this.” she chuckled, teasing a little.
Killian smirked. "I see." he replied. He laughed. "And yes, in fact, I would." he smirked again.
She smirked with a raised brow. ”Then I definitely won't tell you about your fan club.” she chuckled.
He raised his eyebrows. "Wait really? That's a thing?" he asked, looking both amused and weirded-out at the same time.
”Pretty sure we all have one.” she shrugged. ”It’s actually a little embarrassing to think about it, but I guess it comes with the territory.”
Killian blinked, then grinned. "Oh. I see." he replied. "I'll have to look that up, I guess."
”Just don't kidnap any of them.” she warned with a chuckle. ”Some of them might like it.”
Killian's eyes widened a little. "I er…I don't kidnap people." he replied slowly.
”Just some advice.” she assured him putting her hands up in surrender.
”Jade! Hi.” an eager bright-eyed young man raced up to the table. ”Mom said you were here! It's really good to see you again.”
Jade bit back a slightly annoyed groan. ”Hi, Yin. It's nice to see you too.”
Killian blinked as the young man ran forward, but didn't say anything. He merely leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table.
”How have you been? It's been a while.” Yin smiled brightly.
”I've been busy, as always.” she said simply with a small smile. ”How’s business going for you guys?”
”Good. Really good.” he nodded.
Killian smiled a little. "Can I get an introduction?" he asked, raising his eyebrows.
Jade rolled her eyes with a more casual attitude. ”Don’t worry. I didn't forget about you.” she smirked at Killian. ”Chen Yin, this is Killian Blackwood. A very close friend of mine. Killian, this is Yin.”
Yin turned to face Killian with hard dark eyes. ”Oh, sorry. I didn't see you there.” he said through a strained smile.
Killian gave a quick, friendly smile. "Yeah, don't worry about it. I tend to blend in. Nice to meet you, Yin." He was wondering when he had earned the designation of "very close friend". Have I been friend zoned? He wondered, unsure why the idea stung.
Yin nodded. ”It’s very nice to meet a friend of Jade’s.” he smiled, still a little forced but more confident than at first.
Jade silently huffed at Yin’s attitude. Put two men and a woman in the same room and the men ignore her to challenge each other for her. ”You ready to order, Killian?” she asked smoothly.
"Yes, it's nice to meet another friend of hers." Killian replied with a sweet smile. He looked at Jade. "Hm? Oh, right, yes."
“Let me guess. Chicken Teriyaki?” Yin asked grinning brightly at Jade.
”Yes. Thank you.” she smiled softly back.
Yin nodded. ”No problem.” he turned back to Killian. ”And you, sir?” he said professionally.
"Ah…I'll have the same thing as Jade." Killian replied with a quick smile. "Thank you."
Yin nodded at him and turned to smile at Jade. ”I'll be right back with that for you.” he said before walking back to the kitchen.
”謝謝.” Jade gave him a polite smile as he left. Once he was out of sight, she let out a soft groan and placed her head on the table. ”Sorry about him. This is embarrassing.”
