(alright, just checking.)
Rin walked through an odd forest she had just appeared in. Instead of trees she saw brightly colored mushrooms everywhere. "Theres no way this real, not at all." She muttered to herself and rubbed her eyes, "Am I drunk? I don't remember drinking at all." She tentatively touched a mushroom and was surprised by the real texture of a mushroom. "Ah shit. Where am I?" She began to angrily mutter to herself, "This is so stupid, I didn't ask to leave my house, mushroom trees I thought were only like in Mario or something…"
Rocco lay sprawled out on top of his mushroom, watching the area below him blankly. He would've gotten down at some point, but.. nah. Too much work right now. He could very vaguely hear something like a voice, but he shrugged it off as him hearing things- after all, he was way too tired to clearly pick out any words, so it wouldn't have mattered if it was a voice or not. Is that a voice or not? Fuck it, I'm gonna ask. If it's not, then nobody's hearin' me make a clown outta myself. Rocco sighed, clearing his throat. "Hey, anyone there? Somebody talkin'? 'Cause I can't hear any real English or nothin', but I'm hearin' something."
Rin stared at the mushroom where a voice had come from, "Maybe I am drunk..or high…" she sighed, "Because I don't think mushrooms talk…Who the bell are you, talking mushroom?! And why am I here?!" Rin shouted, Wait…someone could actually be up there…oh no…I've made a fool of myself or maybe not. she thought.
"Talking mushroom? What the hell are you on?" Rocco poked his head off the edge, squinting down at Rin. "And "why am I here?" Well damn, I don't know! Didn't you like.. walk in here or somethin'? Like a normal human?" He hopped down from the mushroom, his tall form looking almost like he was sent through a taffy puller. "Talking mushroom… And here I was thinking I needed more sleep."
Victoria heard voices nearby, and looked around, curiously. To her surprise, she saw a thin, curvy woman around her age with dark brown shoulder-length hair with bangs, and lightly tanned skin. "Hello," she offered, brushing her hair back behind her shoulders and raising a hand as an addition motion. "What's going on over here?"
Rin was about to yell back at the man on the mushroom but a girl she heard someone else speak. A girl, about her age. “There’s a mushroom man!” She yelled unsure what else to say, “I swear I’m not high!” She turned back to the mushroom, “I didn’t walk in here! I just appeared!”
She struggled to contain a giggle. "A mushroom man you say?" Victoria wasn't able to hold in her laughter for long. "I'm sorry, it's just so funny. But seriously, what mushroom man?"
Some rustling was heard in the bushes
Scarlet was walking near a small river, when she heard some voices. Curious, she decided to walk over to where she heard the them. Turns out, it was just some humans talking
"A mushroom man? Of all the ways to phrase it, you call me a mushroom man? My name is Rocco, doll. Not mushroom man or smoking Caterpillar or whatever."
She struggled to contain a giggle. "A mushroom man you say?" Victoria wasn't able to hold in her laughter for long. "I'm sorry, it's just so funny. But seriously, what mushroom man?"
Rin frowned in frustration, “There’s a man in the mushroom up there!” She yelled and pointed up to the tree, “Come down here and tell me where the hell I’m at!”
"Uugh. Fine." He dropped out of the mushroom, hands stuck in his pockets. He kicked at the ground with his heal, rolling his eyes. "It's me, the all mighty man of mushroom fame! Bow down, all." He gave a lopsided grin, laughing. "But.. let's see.. You're in a mushroom forest. Congrats, loves."
Victoria blinked, surprised. For a long time she didn't say anything, but eventually muttered, "Oh, I see now." And glaring at Rocco, she added, "And don't call me 'love,' mushroom man."
"Sure thing, doll. Names, please?" He didn't seem fazed by Victoria at all. "If you'd be so willing. It's only fair. I gave you mine, after all."
Rin let out an exasperated sigh, “Oh wow thank you, I never would’ve guessed I was in a fucking mushroom forest, smartass!” She cried at Rocco, “I meant what is this stupid place called? And when can I get out of here, away from you?”
"Christ, the hell should I know?! You think I lived here my whole goddamn life? I don't know the damn name! Hell, I don't even know if there is a name! You wanna get away from me, than go. Take those legs of yours and walk away." He snapped, eyebrows furrowed.
“I think will walk away!” Rin snapped back, crossing her arms. She turned on her heel and began to walk away, muttering to herself, “Of all the places to be stuck…this is the worst…”
"Don't get lost. Or fall into a river. Or something." He scoffed, leaning against the stem of the mushroom. "That sure would suck."
"Sure thing, doll. Names, please?" He didn't seem fazed by Victoria at all. "If you'd be so willing. It's only fair. I gave you mine, after all."
Victoria rolled her eyes at Rocco, saying, "I'm gonna see if I can scout out the area. It'll be relatively easy for me, even though I rarely do this. But hey, who cares if a few mushrooms catch on fire? I certainly don't care." Walking away from the others, she climbed a small peak, that was sort-of far away from the others, and turned into her spirit bird, shaking her head a bit to get used to the sudden change of heat. She'd had this ability her entire life, and yet, she still wasn't used to it. But, she supposed, it probably was because this was only the third time she'd done this in her entire twenty years. She opened her mouth, er, beak to add on to what she had said earlier, but closed it, remembering what that would result in, only it was a split second too late, and she released a small fireball, landing a couple metres away from Rocco. Tossing the fact that she had just sent a fireball crashing to the ground, she looked around, and saw nothing but endless forests of mushrooms and lakes filled with water every now and then, and what she presumed was a shore in the distance to her left.
"Fucking Christ!" He jumped back, away from the fireball. "What the fuck!" Rocco barked, climbing back up onto his mushroom. He sprawled back out on the cap, groaning. "You two are fucking nuts… coulda at least given me warning that you're gonna hate me." He used his hands like puppets, mimicking their voices. "Hey Rocco, instead of being nice and understanding that half of what you say is a joke, I'm gonna go absolutely feral and blow up on you for no reason! Then I'm going to spit a fireball at your feet, because I hate you and want you dead in a ditch." Rocco flopped his arms onto his chest, staring up at the sky above him. He could be heard snorting at his own little attempt at humor from down below.
Victoria swooped low, turning back into a human form. Laughing nervously, she said, "Oops, sorry. I forgot I couldn't speak in… well that form. Besides, it wasn't even that close to you."
"Are you sorry, though? Are you? Coulda fuckin'…. blown me up or some shit. Caught me on fire." Rocco completely ignored her last sentence about proximity, huffing. "Fireball that close to my damned feet."
