He nodded. "Yeah. I just…stirred up memories i would rather not think about." He replied slowly, keeping his eyes fixed on the table.
He nodded. "Yeah. I just…stirred up memories i would rather not think about." He replied slowly, keeping his eyes fixed on the table.
He nods slowly, somewhat understanding. He didn't push anything, letting Jared take his time with his thoughts.
Jared took a deep breath. "I'm okay." He said slowly. "I'm sorry." He raked a hand through his hair, shaking his head a little.
Victor shook his head. "Do not be sorry for something you cannot control." He says gently, his eyes soft. He offers a kind smile to Jared.
Jared took a deep breath, and nodded a little. "Alright. I…once I pay, we can go skating, then." He replied, mustering up a quick, fleeting smile.
"I remember we agreed on letting the waitress deciding on a card?" He smiled a little, tilting his head to the side slightly as he smirks.
Jared sighed. "Damn, you remembered." He replied wryly. He shook his head a little. "Fine."
"I never forget." he replies, smiling innocently. "Here." He handed the other the card, smiling warmly. "I trust you with it."
Jared took the card, setting it down on the table, then dug out his own, setting it beside Victor's. "There. And no cheating." He added, putting his wallet away.
Victor smiled warmly before nodding. "Alright, alright." He laughs gently. Mrs. K walks up to their table. "Victor, I hope you and you're delightful company enjoyed the food?" She asks. He nods and smiles. "Yes, thank you, Mrs. Kay. It was delicious as usual." She seemed pleased by that. "It was a pleasure to meet you Jared." She says kindly before taking one of the cards with Victors permission. She took Victors card before walking off.
Jared nodded. "Nice to meet you too." he replied. He sighed when she took Victor's card, and put his own away. "Guess we'll pay you back in your salary, then." he said, sounding a touch grumpy, though it was a teasing sort of grumpy.
He chuckled as the sweet woman walked away, and then returned his attention to Jared. "Yes, I suppose that's true." He replies, laughing quietly. He leans on his hands and offers a kind smile, "But let's just say this is me hanging out with you and not it being a job." He hums.
Jared shrugged a little. "Yeahh, fine." Hanging out with me is a chore in itself, considering that I flinch at loud noises. He thought. He let out a breath.
Victor smiled. "I like to get to know the people I work with." He smiles gently. As for the flinching at loud noises, he did that a lot himself after the accident.
Jared shrugged a little. "You may be disappointed, then. I'm rather boring." He gave a small, half smile.
"No one is boring, I think. Everyone at some point thinks they're boring when in reality they are interesting and kind." Victor replies, a little.laugh leaving his lips.
Jared raised an eyebrow, and shrugged, a soft laugh leaving his mouth. "Ah. Alright then." He replied with a chuckle.
Mrs. K returned with the check and the card. "Thank you for stopping by, Victor. It's nice to see you again." She says kindly before sighing. "Just wish you didn't constantly put yourself in danger…" She sighed. Victor smiled. "I'll keep that in mind. Say hello to the Mrs. For me." She nods before leaving. Victor stood shortly after she left. "Well Jared, shall we go?"
Jared raised his eyebrow a little at the woman's words, but nodded to Victor. "Yeah. Ice rink, right?" He replied, standing up as well.
Victor smiled. "Indeed. It'll be fun, I promise. Not many people are there right now since it's getting into the later hours."
Jared nodded. "Mm." he replied, nodding. He sighed softly, and got in the car.
Victor followed after and hummed quietly to himself. He settles into his seat and buckles in.
"Do you have a specific rink in mind?" Jared asked as he started the car, looking over at Victor with raised eyebrows.
"I do, it's not far from here. About a five minute drive." He smiles a little. He really liked ice skating. It was his favorite thing to do.
"Alright. You'll have to direct me." Jared replied, starting to drive. He hadn't ever really skated before, but…he was actually looking forward to learning.
Victor nods and smiles a little bit. "Alright. So. You're gonna turn left here, take a right out onto the road, then go forward." He hums, happy to take someone skating with him.
Jared nodded, and followed Victor's instructions. He drove the car carefully. Once they arrived at the rink, he parked. "So. Remember what I said. You'll have to teach me to skate, so I don't fall flat on my face."He chuckled softly.
He smiled when they reached the ice rink. This was his place of bliss. "Alright. I'm more then happy to teach you." He chuckles and gets out of the car. There were very few people there since it was later in the night.
Jared got out of the car, putting the keys in his pocket. "Alright." He replied, looking around as they walked inside.
Victor followed after him and hummed quietly in content. He knocks on the counter and a young man walks out. "Coming, coming." He adjusts his glasses before smiling a little. "Victor. Been a while. I see you've brought a friend." He laughs kindly. "Victor loves to visit. One of our favorites." He winks before humming. "Come on back. We got a new shipment of skates."
